You do need to know a bit about computer logistics to get the most out of it.
No need for a new computer. My 6 yr old gaming Laptop was very slow, I'd tried to clean the HD out, but it's a job when you've got 2 partitions and between them both I only had about 1.5gb left. Desperate times.. so got a SSHD as I'd been nagged at for the past year about how great they are. Not sure what the thing about it being an QVO was about? But so far, no problems, apart from my own incompetences. My partner fitted it, and got it going, I have now got to reinstall stuff that I moved, cause moving it isn't a good idea (I got told) You have to reinstall it to the new partition.. well you live and learn and for me, its always been the hard way!But the great news is, its like having a new laptop, everything is so fast! OS and the way it opens things, its up within a blink of an eye. Certainly worth buying, I've pointed out for Christmas it would be good to have the SSHD of 2 Terrabytes.. Cause the 1TB is getting filled rapidly!I must admit DPD delivered this, even though it was a day late, but I got it handed to me in the door, not thrown over the fence, like they can be prone to.

Put into a PS4 - easy and good results
Put this into my PS4 to allow for more storage and for quicker game loads and it's delivered on both. Installation (to a PS4) is very easy using the backup restore features, the physical install was done in minuets then the back up and restore was a couple of hours. I play a fair bit (more like a lot... ok lots and lots) of Destiny 2 which has some horrible load times, often I was in a game where a group of 3 of us would travel to a location and they guy with a PS4 Pro (Solid state HDD) would be landed and off shooting things before I'd even landed... a good 30 seconds more of black screen (an infinity in gaming now and I hark from the days of tape loading on a spectrum zx). Since putting this drive in to my PS4 he might be a a second or two ahead of me but gone are long waits. Worth it? yes, oh yes. Shame it doesn't fix my aim in PvP!!

Fast, and plenty big enough for my needs.
My work requires me to have a lot of virtual machines, which use a lot of disk space. My older 512GB SSD filled up pretty quickly, so I decided to replace that drive with this one. This is a very fast drive, seems reliable (I have had it for around a month now), and suites my needs perfectly.Note: As seen elsewhere in the web, if you write more than around 20GB as fast as the drive can go, it will slow down to around 80MB/s when writing - the SLC cache fills up. This was a bit annoying when initially transferring data to the drive, but has not been an issue since. I think it is maginally slower than my old 512GB 840 Evo, but I am happy to take the performance hit for a higher-capacity, great value drive.

Makes an incredible difference to a midpriced laptop
My wife bought a Lenovo Ideapad 330S running win 10 for one of the kids to use and to run a few apps that wouldn't work on our main computer (a MacBookPro from last year). The specs looked alright, nice big screen, reasonably well put together but it was just a bit of a dog when compared to the Mac. When I first set it up, I thought it might be faulty or be loaded up with bloatware because it took so long to start, come out of sleep etc. But once you got it going, it was just about usable.Anyway, in the end I cracked a bought a same-size (1TB) Samsung SDD. It was pretty straight-forward putting it in. The Samsung migration software (via download) was more or less idiot proof (although very slow with the new drive plugged in via USB it took over an hour when we had very little data). Once the data was migrated and the drive put in, it booted up first try with all data exactly as before. The difference is incredible. I ran a test with the old mechanical HD just before switching and from shut down to usable was just over 4 minutes. With the new SSD, its under 30s. It comes out of sleep in seconds. And all the laggyness in apps is gone.So if you have a laptop which is a bit laggy and has an old fashioned hard disk, this may well be the best £90 you can spend to upgrade. I can't think anything else you can do that has that sort of impact.

Great replacement for HDD but you need patience to clone and install successfully.
I replaced a traditional 1tb hard drive on a Samsung laptop with this product, using software to clone the old drive to this ssd drive. It took around 5 hours to clone the drive, that was the easy part. The real challenge was removing the back off my laptop to swap the drives over, thank you Samsung for making that model so beautiful to look at but so difficult to disassemble. However, job done and now I have a machine that boots in around seven seconds and "wakes up from sleep in two seconds. In normal use this feels like a very quick machine and has eliminated the need to replace it with a new one. This is the best way to give an older laptop a speed boost.

Works Right Out of the Box
I've spent the best part of a day re-configuring my system - but that really has nothing to do with the drive. I had a complicated dual-boot affair with Linux and Windows spread over several old discs (IDE and SATA) which I wanted to consolidate into two partitions on my new SSD. I have achieved that and both operating systems are now much faster to boot and considerably more responsive.Installation of the drive itself is trivial: it takes a standard SATA power cable and a standard SATA data cable. My BIOS had no trouble with it, although Windows insisted on downloading device drivers for the thing. The only reason I haven't done this before now is that I thought a 1TB drive would be prohibitively expensive. Prices appear to have come crashing down and this has to be one of the best value-for-money upgrades that I've done. Once I've recovered from the trauma of reconfiguration (again: not the drive's fault at all) I am going to buy one for my laptop.I can heartily recommend this. I run 64-bit versions of XUbuntu and Windows 7 Pro, in case you were wondering if it would give you problems with your operating system(s).
