Oak Leaf Replacement Spigot for Beverage Dispenser

I am thoroughly satisfied with this stainless steel beverage spigot from Oak Leaf. It is a high-quality product offered at a very good price... the best I could find at the time of this review. Oak Leaf responded promptly to my question. The spigot arrived quickly and I was immediately impressed with its quality. For some re-ason water currently tastes too bland to me so I haven't been drinking as much as I should. I decided to get a beverage dispenser to have infused water that I enjoy drinking more readily available. After purchasing a beverage dispenser locally for way too much $$$, I was very disappointed with the cheap, plastic, painted spigot that came with it. It looked ugly (really cheap), dispensed water very slowly, and I'm certain it would fail in short time. Plus, I'm not keen on using plastic for food & beverage storage. I returned it immediately and looked on Amazon for a better model. It seems cheap spigots are the defacto offerings - yuk. While searching, I saw listings for stainless steel spigots & that gave me the idea to make a DIY infused water dispenser. After researching SS spigots, this one offered by Oak Leaf is the best option. I already had a glass gallon jar so I ordered the drill bit needed for $8 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00B300J8O/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and this awesome spigot. Everything arrived within two days and I had my infused water dispenser up and running in under 20 minutes including the time for drilling the hole in the jar and assembling the spigot... and slicing up fruits for the infusion. I'm no DIY expert, it was just that easy. The installation itself is a piece of cake. Instructions are not included but none are needed as it is so intuitive. Logically, it only fits one way: - Slide one stainless steel washer onto the spigot screw (convex facing out; towards the spigot head) followed by one silicone spacer. - Place the screw thru the hole in the jar. - From inside the jar, slide the 2nd silicone spacer onto the screw followed by the 2nd SS washer (convex facing in; away from the spigot head). - Thread the nut onto the screw and finger tighten. TIP: I found it easier to hold the nut stationary from inside the jar and turn the spigot clockwise from outside the jar to tighten. Take care to not overtighten - just enough so the spigot head doesn't wobble or jiggle. This spigot is well designed & shouldn't leak even if it's on loose enough to wobble. I do not have strong hands and did not find it necessary to use a wrench. This spigot is nicely machined and polished, has a good solid heft, dispenses like a dream & turns off securely - no drips. [TIP: If your spigot slows down, loosen the jar lid a tad to release the vacuum. I loosen mine after placing it on the stand and leave it that way.] The silicone spacers are dense but pliable enough to offer a secure seal. The nut threads smoothly on the screw. The screw is long enough to accommodate thicker walled containers. All included components show no seam lines and are of high quality. I'm so pleased with my DIY dispenser and LOVE how this spigot makes it look. The polished hardware gives it the appearance of high-end models, 😉. And I am drinking more water again, so, it's working well for me. This unit is lead free and also safe to use with acidic beverages like teas, kombucha, sangria, etc. I am confident that this product will last for many, many years and will live to see multiple applications. I happily recommend this spigot and feel good about doing so. Seriously, you really can't beat this price! I am thinking of a couple more DIY dispensing project ideas & will surely order from Oak Leaf again when needed. Best of luck in whatever your spigot usage needs are.

This replacement spout for our Zero Water pitcher is better than the original one. It’s metal, solidly built, is a direct replacement and water flows out faster. The gaskets that came with the spout work as intended. If this one ever breaks we would definitely buy another one.

This is the third spigot I've bought. They last approx 2 years of daily use. I think they are good but over never used any other brand. I use it on my homemade Berkey water filtration system. I like the smooth operation and looks. I know it's a lot better than those cheap plastic spigots and the price is right.

These are very nice and smooth to operate. 1 handed operation its so much easier than the original cheap plastic one that always felt like you were going to break it off every time you turned the handle. This all metal spigot is a total game changer and has given new life to my drink dispenser.

I got this to replace the cheap plastic one on my beverage dispenser. It didn't come with instruction, but was easy enough to figure out. Just use the rubber washers on both sides of the glass and put the stainless steel decorate cover over the front washer. I like the nice touch of the stainless steel decorative cover that hides the rubber washer on the outside of the unit. Make sure to wash the spigot before use, or you will get black specks in your beverage cup. It says polished mirrored, but I'd say polished but not enough to be mirrored. It has a nice turn handle that you can tighten or loosen with a 3/4 allen wrench. They also give you 2 stainless steel washer covers, but not spare washers. My problem is that my dispenser is at an angle so this makes the spigot point downward and low. I can only get short glasses under it or have to tip the glass to get it about 1/2 way full. The plastic spout was a little better as it didn't angle downward, but my whole reason for buying this was to get rid of the plastic one. I need one that is longer and goes at an upward angle. This isn't the fault of the seller, but just a mere fact I need to figure out. Also, the mirrored look is dull compared to the plastic one. I may have to stick with the plastic one as it just functions better due to the angling of the dispenser. I'll post pictures, but I bought 2 of the Godinger 22266 Medallion 2 Gallon Beverage Dispenser, My dilemma continues. The only additions that would have put this over the top and gotten it a 5 star review, would have been spare rubber washers, one 3/4 inch allen wrench, instructions and a more mirrored finish. Otherwise, I am very happy with the product thus far, it shipped fast, was well packaged and works great! Cheers and Vidimo Se!

Terrific. Good quality, was exact replacement for my Berkey. After my SS Berkey valve was loose/leaking I was hesitant about this product, but upon receiving I was impressed with its quality and it functions excellent. For the price I would highly recommend.

Like most other people, I bought this to replace the cheap plastic spigot that came with my glass beverage dispenser. I had originally bought the dispenser to keep cold brewed coffee handy in my fridge, only to come in the kitchen the next morning to find it had dripped and leaked a small lake of coffee all over my refrigerator. Trust me, coffee lakes sound much better in theory. I didn't even realize that replacement spigots were sold until I got online to buy an entirely new dispenser, and I was happy to stumble across this! It got great reviews from a good number of people, so I ordered one. I am SO PLEASED. It came in two days (thanks, Prime, you sexy shipping service you) and while it didn't have any sort of directions, I figured it out by looking at the picture online and a brief bit of trial and error. The spigot is easily 5 times the weight of the plastic disaster that came with the dispenser originally, mainly because it is metal and not plastic. It feels super sturdy and the handle turns incredibly smoothly. The flow rate also seems to be a good bit quicker than the original spigot, which is fantastic, because the faster I get my iced coffee, the happier type of person I am. From a cosmetic standpoint, I think it makes my dispenser look a lot more 'classy' than it did originally, which doesn't really matter to me, as mine is always in the refrigerator, but I'm sure my salad dressings appreciate the change of scenery. If I ever buy another dispenser, I will definitely be purchasing another one of these. No more coffee lakes for me!
