If you mean depth, that's possible if you were daring enough to pass it across a table saw blade. The grommet and cover are rigid plastic, though, so you wouldn't be able to alter them in any other way.

Do the caps snap in place and stay tight?

They are a press fit not snap. But I’ve never had a problem staying in place. They may pop out if you pul up on a bunch of cables, but in normal use they stay in fine.
