Beautiful privacy. Add weight and get help assembling
I purchased two of these screens in August of 2023. I decided to sand and stain every individual piece before assembling since the screens would be permanently set up on my partially covered patio. It was a grueling, time-consuming project and I’m grateful I had garage space to work in where I could leave the pieces spaced out while I completed the various stages of the project over about two months. I used Olympic Elite Semi-Trans/Solid Stain in the shade Royal Mahogany, applying two coats, which has a waterproofing finish. It is a rich gorgeous color that compliments the furniture on my patio. We live in NJ near the coast so winds and summer humidity are a factor. I figured the screens would have extra stability since I could use the patio cover’s posts to provide support but still I purchased four ceramic planters and put 5’ faux cedar trees in each planter, filling the empty area around the plants with rocks, mulch and landscape stone. The screens have been installed on my patio now for about 18 months, through winter, spring, summer and fall with plenty of heavy storms, and I have never been worried about the stability of the screens, partly because they are supported by the patio cover posts and partly because of the heavy dirt and rocks in the planter boxes. My adult son helped me assemble the screens once the sanding and staining part of the project was complete. Notice we installed the center panel on each screen upside down. This was so the negative space between slats would not align all the way across the three panels, creating more of a sense of privacy from our neighbors’ yard. I agree with other reviewers that you’ll need two people to get to the final assembly stage as the screens are awkward to handle, and are quite heavy. Definitely lay out every set of screws, go through the instruction book and label the screw packets before you get started because the screw packets and instruction book didn’t use the same labels. Adding your own labels will save you time later! Also plenty of the pre-drilled screw holes needed extra drilling. One more assembly note: be sure to pre-think exactly how you want the planter boxes positioned before you start installing them. *Centered, so you can add small plants on both sides? * Front, so you can add larger plants on the side facing in? (This is how we did ours.) * Back, so larger plants can be on the outside? Once you’ve installed a planter box it’s going to be a hassle to change it if you change your mind. I highly recommend having help for assembly; some of the pieces are awkward to handle and heavy so having extra hands is helpful. We also screwed eight rubber feet to the bottom of each planter so that the wood would not sit in water or ice when it rains or snows here. The last photo, a closeup showing the mahogany stain color, is from late July 2025, after 18 months of the screens being outside on this patio and never once power-washed.

High quality and attractive
Very well-made and designed; quality piece and certainly good value for money. There are a lot of parts, so it takes some time to assemble, but it's clearly built to last and I appreciated the meticulous instructions and detailed explanations. I'm not very handy, but was able to assemble the first one on my own with no problem. Very attractive; I painted mine white. Looks great!

Beautiful - love it - work but certainly worth it it
UPDATE: It is 10/19/23 and it is STILL AWESOME Purchased 10/3/20 and still great. Very well packaged & very sturdy. Good instructions. Great Customer Service - a small piece was broken and I had a replacement within 2 days. (The wood in the boxes is not how it comes. I used those boxes to hold them after I stained them.) To get the color I wanted and insure added water protection I chose to stain with Thompson's water seal, transparent color "Acorn", every nook n cranny of every piece before putting it together for some added water protection. This made for a ton of work but definitely well worth it. I'm used to putting things together on my own but this needs tools the average person probably doesn't have. My brother with his tools & knowledge helped put it together with reinforcements... stronger hinges & securing the boxes to the screens, and some more. Another review had recommended linking the screens prior to putting them on top of the boxes. This was especially important in this case because we added heavy duty locking wheels that need to be put on prior to the screens because otherwise the middle screen would have been too difficult to add after. In the boxes I added 1/3 full medium rocks at the bottom to weight it because of wind, not using too many to insure it wasn't too heavy in the boxes in spite of the fact the boxes are very sturdy and then filled the rest with red bark.

High quality, looks good, but will blow over
I bought 2 of these screens and am very pleased with them. I would give them 5 stars except they do blow over. QUALITY: I was impressed with the quality of the materials and construction. The wood pieces are thick. The base of the planters are tongue-in-groove. The screens appear to be well-engineered overall, with lots of sturdy re-enforcement. The screens even include plastic liners for the planters to protect the wood. ASSEMBLY: They are straightforward to put together, but there are lots of pieces to screw together and it took me several hours to finish just one. One person can assemble it alone. They also recommend applying wood sealer, which is not included. STABILITY: They did fine in winds up to about 20 mph. We had one day with gusts of about 40 mph and they both slid around and then blew over. Since I have them sitting on a wooden deck, I bought some brackets and attached them to the deck, and they've been fine since then.

Very Nice - Great Privacy!
I was really impressed with the quality of these units. Went together just as described with no missing pieces! I did take the time to stain these to better match our needs using an outdoor stain and wood protectant. I also used bags of landscape rock to weigh the units down. Very sturdy and I am not worried about these getting blown over. We also added faux 4 ft. Cedar trees for the front planter boxes and faux lavender plants for the rear facing planters. Added 2 solar lights above the trees for a subtle night light. Only been a couple of weeks but very happy.

Good quality, complex to assembly
Took me 4hrs to assemble by myself. I wouldn't say it's difficult, the instructions were pretty clear it's just hundreds of parts, get a drill or electric screwdriver at least. Also it's heavy, so if you can assemble it with two people is probably best. I was very proud when I finished it because it looks gorgeous. Very sturdy and good quality. It's expensive, but it's all wood, not like all that cheap stuff you find on stores. I might get another one when they have them back in stock.

A Little Expensive for the Product
First off, I love my planter. I'm aiming to be as honest about my experience as possible in this review, but overall I love the look of my planter. - Product Condition: One of our boards arrived broken. We were able to glue it back together, which was great because attempting to return this planter would have been HORRIBLE. The box is very heavy and large, I cannot imagine having to return it. The wood itself is raw wood, and a little lighter than pictured. You're going to want to stain or seal it if you're keeping this outdoors. For the price of the product, I would have expected it to at least be sealed. - Assembly: The assembly process can be a bit rough. The number one piece of advice I can give you is to label all of the bags of screws with the labels provided on the first page of instructions (S2, S4, etc). The instructions themselves are pretty clear. Be sure you pay attention to the stamps on the wood, the instructions don't tell you to watch for them and you may end up assembling this in a way where the piece number stamps are showing. I would recommend two people for assembly just to help this go faster and to help at the end when you attach the flower box to the panels. They provide a drill bit which is useful for a lot of the screws, but some of them are too close to edges and would need an extension in order to use a drill. The wood itself is soft, so screwing in by hand is an option for a lot of the screws. On my planter, there were more than a couple of spots where the drill spots line up with knots in the wood, so be careful not to split the wood on those places. Overall, now that it's assembled, I love the look of it! It's a beautiful addition to my patio and helps provide privacy between myself and my neighbor. If I were to go back, I probably would have just built it myself with my husband. If you're handy, you're better off building this yourself for the price.

Great sturdy privacy wall!
My husband and I purchased 2 of these for our backyard patio so we can have some privacy from our neighbors. The height is perfect. If your looking for a privacy wall I would suggest purchasing 2. We added river rocks inside each of the planter boxes and filled it completely to the top to support our privacy wall in the strong winds. I plan on adding small potted flowers to place on top of the rocks in the summer. We also painted these with 2 coats of spar urethane to protect the wood in all weather environments just as a precaution. Very happy with our purchase! ***Update*** It’s been over a year since I purchased this product, and this held up throughout Northeast Ohio windy lake effect snow storms without any problem! I am so happy my River rocks worked and I also tied this down to my deck railings during the winter as an extra precaution. As long as you weigh it down and secure it properly you won’t have any issues.
