Fantastic picture quality.
I have this and a sonar. The camera is superior in shallow water where the sonar only covers a small area.

I'm Impressed
I watched a friend use his MarCum VS485C underwater viewing camera to position our tip-ups using walleye minnows just above the weed line. Within 20 minutes our tip-ups started going flags up, I was impressed, so impressed I purchased one the next day. Altho the weather has turned crappy for ice fishing and I only have used it in my house to get familiar with it, I will get out using this unit in the next few days and will give a update. Only two negatives I see, is it should have a larger carrying handle, and it would be nice to come with some kind of a holding arm with a cable stop like my MarCum LX-7 has for the cable and camera, but I can live with out that, very nice unit, Iโm impressed and happy so far and figure after fishing with it, I will still be impressed.

This works great for seeing what fish are down under you
This works great for seeing what fish are down under you. When using a fish finder you can only know that there are fish there but not know what type of fish they are. I now can see if the fish are the type I am targeting. It is a little hard to see on a bright day even when using the shade provider cover. It would have been nice to be able to purchase a rubber piece that fits over the screen so you can seal your eyes and block the sunlight from the screen. The only other item is that you cannot record what you are seeing to review later. You can possibly hook up a recorder to the unit since there is a video output, but then what could you carry with you? (Camcorder) I lot to drag around. But very good for the moment of fishing. I use it and it has paid off increasing my walleye fishing not wasting time on other fish I really do not want to catch.

Happy with purchase
I always wanted an underwater camera to see what I am fishing for. I tested It out on the Columbia river and was able to visually identify different fish species, which was pretty cool to be able to do.

Not worth the money
Used the product for one season. The video quality is sub par. The second season I tried to power it up and get a blank screen. Complete waste of money.

Make sure your ice hole is larger than the camera.
Very clear visual on the lakes I fish on. Battery never let me down.

First time user
So far used this unit 2 times. This is my first camera but I am glad to have it. I also own a FLX28 and I find myself using this more since I bought this unit. It is nice to see what is down there instead of wondering is that a perch, whitefish or walleye on the vex. I wish it had a longer cable, but even the 75ft cable on the more $ units wouldn't be enough for the 1 or 2 times a year we fish 80ft+ water. mostly 9 to 40ft we fish.

Great camera
Bought for my girlfriend; Works great! Camera has great night time visual. I have two of the black and white versions and would defiantly buy another colored camera, not for the color, but for the better visibility day and night!

Bad picture
Marcum is a good brand, but the one I received had a bad picture. Amazon did it right by me they refunded it.
