Once setup, an execellent little speaker and well worth the money!
Im very pleased with this speaker! The build quality is very apparent - very solid, weighty item and good quality buttons. The sound quality is great (as expected, having done plenty of homework before the investment!). Control of the system via the app is simple and i love the fact i can easily preset spotify playlists to the 4 physical chanels on the speaker itself (so i dont need to go find my phone or if the kids want to listen when im not around). Alexa works well and even detects my commands when the music is playing and background noise - impressed. The only thing i would down mark was the initial setup with the WIFI - even reading the instructions it took a few attempts and i moved closer to the router which wasnt too practical BUT, since initial setup, ive positioned at least 7meters from the router and through a solid brick wall and the signal has never dropped! Overall the 30min effort to set up is by far worth the overall experience. The volume is plenty to fill my 3m/4m conservatory on around 3/4 max volume playing Spotify/DAB stations.

Great Smart Speaker Upgrade
I invested in a Dot a little while back to try out the whole Alexa thing and had been impressed by how useful it is. However, the Dot is a little quiet for my open plan living-room, so I decided to upgrade.Saw great things about Audio Pro in the What Hi-Fi? buying guide, with the original Addon C5 having a set of good reviews and awards, so I decided the C5A would be a good choice. I wasn't disappointed. Amazing sound - quite a step up from my Dot! Clear, loud and fills the entire living room quite easily. I installed the app on my iPhone 6S and find it extremely easy to navigate through my music. It's very responsive to voice commands. I'm tempted to buy another speaker now to set up in the kitchen and link to it. The thing looks pretty cool too - a bit of Scandi-style can never go a miss.

Completely let down by app
I've had this for a month now and I have to say it's a nice piece of hardware completely let down by the app. As of the latest update on 25 October, the app will not work at all and keeps crashing. The reviews for the app on Google Play are mostly 1 stars. Avoid.

Sound great but major flaw in Alexa functionality
This speaker sounds great and looks great. General functionality is pretty good, but there is one major flaw in the execution of the Alexa functionality. When you connect a device to play music via Bluetooth, Alexa stops listening. To make 'her' listen again you have to either choose the 'Wifi' source from the front panel, or play either a Spotify track or a song from your NAS. This makes the unit go back in to 'Wifi' mode and Alexa then starts listening/responding again. Hardly convenient - the idea behind Alexa (and other voice assistants) is that they are meant to be always listening in the background for your commands!! It seems Audio Pro didn't really think hard enough about this when they added Alexa to the C5 to create the C5A.

Very Happy with this item
First of all the sound from this little speaker is nothing short of amazing. It did win the gadget show shoot out so option of realy people defo correct . I havnt used sonos but the app to me works as I hoped ( some people don't like) so no issues there. The only issue is with the alexa as is It doesn't give full alexa usage so I can turn on / offlights, ask questions etc but you carnt use it to drop in to/from other speakers in the house .Last but not least I think it looks quality with the black leather handle

Good sound quality 👍👍👍👍👍
It has a beautiful sound which doesn’t distort even if you turn it up, good bit of bass with crisp trebles, it has a good selection of inputs for most devices, Alexa is brilliant, add Amazon music and you can play any song you like even new releases (monthly subscription required check prices, with Prime it’s a little cheaper) overall it’s brilliant even if you just have basic Alexa you can play quite a lot of radio stations or just use your own devices 👍👍👍

Lacking in Bass/warmth
The alexa function worked well. But the sound was lacking any warmth and I, therefore, returned this unit and ordered a Denon (which sucks at alexa damnit)

Fantastic natural sounding speaker
This came highly recommended and I know why.I also have a denon HEOS 5 which was far more expensive and higher spec. But no matter how good the sound is with speakers of these type they are useless if the accessibility is not practical which sadly is the case for the HEOS. The C5 is awesome In this regard. With airplay, Bluetooth and wireless connection is easy and faultless. The sound is natural, very clear and clean and for a speaker of its size it is incredibly powerful. The app is not perfect but it is streets ahead of the HEOS one and with airplay anyway it works easily with Tidal or whatever source you are playing from your iPhone.Highly recommended

Great sound
I needed a small speaker and bought this on the basis of great WhatHiFi's recommendation and I have been very happy with the sound quality and the performance of the microphone.

Working fine now--my setup was not
For over a decade I've streamed music locally within my home (I have LOTS of CDs, all of which I've ripped). My oldest device that I used for locally streamed playback died recently, so I bought the C5A as an intended replacement. This turned out to be much harder than it should have been: some reasons were clearly issues with the C5A and/or the AudioPro app, while some issues were related to my home network hardware/software. In principle, I wanted to rely on the ability of the C5A to act as a UPnP/DLNA client to play music stored on and served from my (old) network attached storage (NAS) unit--something I've more or less been doing for years with other devices. The C5A and/or the AudioPro app would occasionally see one of the three different UPnP/DLNA servers I tried using with it (two on the NAS, one on a Windows computer), but nothing worked consistently. Something might work for 5 minutes or 5 hours--and then disappear, with the connection sometimes never to be seen again in the AudioPro app. I occasionally got the C5A to work with Logitech Media Server (LMS) software running on a Windows computer (but not with the version running on my NAS, for reasons not the fault of the C5A). This particular Windows computer is not supposed to sleep completely, but in the morning it and the C5A could never see each other; resurrecting their ability to find each other was hit-or-miss. My eventual solution was drastic: buy a CanaKit Raspberry Pi 4 kit; download and install on it piCorePlayer (a free, pared-down Linux with some free streaming media features--including the ability to run LMS); and use LMS on the Raspberry Pi to pull music from my NAS and play it on the C5A. A software plugin (also free) for LMS needed to accomplish this is a "bridge" for LMS to communicate with UPnP/DLNA devices. This worked, after considerable learning on my part. I then repurposed an otherwise now-useless first-generation iPad (too old to run the AudioPro app) to run an app to control what music LMS (on the Raspberry Pi) sends from the NAS to the C5A. The AudioPro app can do other things, but it can't do that. For the last three days, all of this has been working, with the NAS and the Raspberry Pi on wired Ethernet connections and the C5A on Wi-Fi. Fingers still crossed. My favorite message from tech support at AudioPro: "Our App has NAS compatible issue." I think their app actually has a problem with linking to UPnP/DLNA servers, regardless of whether the server softwar (or the music they are serving) is on a NAS or some other computer. That may have been what tech support meant. For my purposes, I give the C5A four stars (ignoring the fact that my wife hates its "look"), then subtract one for the two weeks I spent getting it to work. Not to mention having to buy and configure a separate (although inexpensive) computer with an operating system about which I know almost nothing.P.S. If you want to use the C5A just to access Spotify or other online services, ignore me.

Best Alexa-Enabled Speaker
Setup was every so slightly tricky, in that I had to use Apple's "set up Airplay device" procedure to get it on my WiFi, the Audio Pro app's configuration procedure was useless. Other than that, aside from a long update process, things went smoothly. Configuring the device to use Alexa took about a minute. So far it has worked flawlessly. The sound quality is vastly superior to my Echo Plus 2nd Gen, and at least as good as, and in some respects better than, my Sonos One Gen 2. In fact, I would say this little speaker is as close as you can get at this time to hi fi quality sound with a voice-controlled speaker. I'm tempted to buy another one just to see how good it can get with a stereo pair. Of course, it's $100 more than either the Echo or the Sonos.I have not had any of the operational issues identified by other users. No connection loss, no constant resetting. But I suppose time will tell. For now, it's a 5-star product with a slight price caveat.
