Hello. Can anyone tell me the exact measurement from the top of the plate to the centre of the spindle hole please.

1 and 3/4" it is quite a long plate at 4 and 1/2" and should cover any existing holes you may have. Give them a try they are good value 👍

Can anyone tell me what size barrel would be best suited for these handles?

They come: 2 handles 4 screws and the square bar that connects which measures approx 1- 1.5 cms

What size barrel is recommend for these handles?

I simply replaced my old handles so I am not sure as I used my existing barrels, if you are fitting these to new doors providing the square holes in the new barrel are the same size as the square joining rod I don't think the barrel size makes any difference.
