Vintage Tradition Epic Glow Grass-Fed Tallow Balm | Face & Body 2 oz

I was quite skeptical, but wow this stuff is great, I'm sold for life. I liked the explanations they give on their website about how they source, sort, clean, do their own rendering, etc. They even list the farms they buy from! And quite apart from all that, the salve makes my hands feel the way I WANT my hands to feel after moisturizing. Just like my hands used to be before covid, when I started washing my hands way more often. When that died off a little, I moved into a house where there are a lot of really adorable and clean animals, but still... I end up washing my hands all the time, since I don't want to be rubbing my eyes with animal dander and hair etc. The handwashing all the time continues, and I'm SO glad to have this stuff. One container lasts forEVer, I haven't even gone through half of my pot yet, (2oz) and it's been months and months. After just a couple minutes, it sinks into the skin and is not noticeable any more, no persistent greasy feeling unless you overdo it like a LOT. If I do that accidentally, buffing with a dry or moist hand towel takes care of it, and the overall feeling is really nice. I adore peppermint, and while this is not intensely minty, I think the mint must do a great job covering any tallow smell, because I've only ever caught the faintest whiff of that (while overdoing it, mostly). I cannot speak to the other scents/unscented, but I doubt they smell worse, really. This has saved my dry cracky hands, and also helped with some dry skin issues on my face and elbows. Cannot recommend it enough! The texture may be a little grainy, depending on what the storage/shipping conditions were like, mine is SUPER grainy, but I don't give a &@#, because that doesn't matter at all. Works amazing anyway. Once it melts onto your skin, it's heaven.

This is a lovely product and brand. I’ve been using this mostly on my face, neck, chest and hands. My skin feels so soft and hydrated when I apply it. I’m 39 with combo/acne prone skin. I have had had no adverse reactions to this, my skin loves it. It does seem to help lessen breakouts a bit, and very healing to the skin. My one complaint is the scent. It smells very much like the ingredients, a strong fish oil smell is present along with the mixture of herbal oils. But it doesn’t last long, I usually spray a bit of perfume on my chest or apply some other lotion on my body quickly after I apply this to my face and that helps counter the fish oil smell. I’m curious about there other blends that don’t use the fish oil but I was a bit worried about applying olive oil on my face being so acne prone. I also recommend scooping out a bit into your palm and mixing it with your finger, it becomes whipped and very easy to spread onto the skin. Overall I recommend, it’s a very nice product, that your skin will love! I’m definitely going to repurchase and try other scents too!

Ordering my fifth bottle. This stuff is so nurturing and rich, yet non-clogging or heavy-feeling. It's gentle enough for daily use on my face, and hydrating enough on my kids' occasional eczema. I'm pretty sure this stuff even gets rid of the flare ups. Love the scent; lavender shines through, however it IS beef tallow, so ... It's gonna smell like it, but it's bearable.

3/18/24 UPDATE: I have been using this for 7 days now, and I have mixed feelings. I was expecting that my hands, feet, and lips would be greatly improved. My lips do seem somewhat better, but like I stated before, I don't like tasting lavender, so I'm planning on switching to a non-flavored tallow lip balm. My feet do seem less dried out, but not "soft" yet. My hands are confusing me the most, they seem slightly "more rough/dry" after 7 days of use. The company did send an email stating that during the first 7 days of use, your skin might go through some sort of detoxification process, so I will continue to use and see what happens. My overall review after 4 days of use is positive. I feel like it is working as expected. 3/14/24 3/11/24 - Applied 3x a day to my feet and hands. Applied 2x to my legs and lips. 3/12/24 - Applied to my feet and hands at night and covered with gloves and socks. Applied to my lips also. 3/13/24 - Applied to my feet and hands at night and covered with gloves and socks. Applied to my lips also. 3/14/24 - Applied to my feet and hands at night and covered with gloves and socks. Applied to my lips also. PROS: -The lavender scent is nice. -Once you warm it up in your palm and use your finger to kinda "mix" it around and smooth it out, it becomes smoother and more "lotion/cream" like, and goes on well. (I use my thumbnail to "scrape" out about enough to cover the top of my thumbnail, then warm it in my palm.) CONS: -Even though I only applied a small amount to my lips, I could still "taste" it. This won't be successful as a "lip balm" for me. I'll have to keep looking. (Or maybe later order the unscented.) -The price. It's a steep price! But, I do understand that it's only 3 natural ingredients and it's made in the USA, so yes, it's going to cost more. -As stated above, straight from the jar this is a "hard balm", but the consistency changes when you warm it up in your palm. Yes, I just started using it, but wanted to comment my initial thoughts.

I have given this 1-1/2 months before I did a review. I completely dropped all the steroid creams and OTC lotions and switched to tallow for controlling my eczema. While I will not say I don’t have eczema any more, I can say it has given me more control over my eczema than ANY prescription or OTC I have used. I’m now down to “light pink” without flaking or itching! It’s a HUGE improvement for me and I couldn’t be happier!

I love this product so much! I’ve been hesitant to try tallow balm for my eczema for years now just because of the price, but once nothing was working for my 18 month old son, I decided we’d give it a go. It improved patches that he’d had for over month after 2 uses, and they were completely gone in a week. My own stubborn patches are instantly soothed, no itch or irritation, and it doesn’t sting when you apply it like all other eczema products do for me, I love it. You need so little when you apply this jar will last forever, even with both of our outbreaks, AND the jar is a reusable glass jar??? I really wonder is this product could get better. I’m so happy we’ve found something that works so well for both of us! No more eczema-creams-that-never-worked graveyard. One product that does it all!

My son suffers from terrible rashes on his legs that are dry, patchy and burn/irritated him. Since using this he is much more at ease and his legs no longer hurt, the marks are also fading! His skin also looks much more smooth. Works amazing and worth the price as a little goes a long way!
