Makes a perfect cup of English Breakfast tea! Truly good to the last drop.
I really enjoy this tea! I had intended to buy decaffeinated tea, but my search took me to this caffeinated tea, so I nearly returned it, but then decided to try it to see if I liked it better than my usual brand, and I do, very much. It is a large cut and quite mild. Also the larger cut makes keeps tea powder from getting through my strainer and into the bottom of my cup. Truly good to the last drop. My daughter thinks it tastes like honey, not with the sweetness of honey, just the taste. It's hard for me to separate the two things, but I definitely agree that, even unsweetened, it smells like honey.

Nice Breakfast Tea
I expected this tea to be a little stronger than it is because most English Breakfast teas tend to be. However, it has a smooth taste, not bitter.

Best tea I've had besides Earl Grey !!!
This tea is great !!! Brew it a bit strong and add half and half with some splenda !!! PERFECT combination and excellent for morning or night. Smells great, tastes great, sealed plastic packaging, Have gotten Earl Grey from these folks too.

A mild tea without much flavor.
My preference of many years has always been for strong tea and Stash Organic, Black Breakfast tea is my favorite. While others enjoyed a tang from Single Estate tea, even after brewing different lengths of time, the tea tasted bland to me. It probably suits many people...just not me. Plusses would be that the leaves are intact with very few rubbings....unlike Stash which often has powder at the bottom. This is likely the result of too much handling, not a knock on the company. Single Estate is also relatively inexpensive. The con would be the lack of strong tea flavor. Based on my tasting of this tea, I will stay with the Stash brand.

English Breakfast that is not an English Breakfast - Idulgashinna Ceylon
Tasting notes - Earthy, woody, light sweetness (cooked papaya note of wet leaves), light hint of cacao For those who want an aromatic single estate Ceylon, I suggest the Pettiagala. If freshness was based on aroma with the Idulgashinna Ceylon, then I wouldn't say it is that fresh. The aroma is lacking. It does have a cooked papaya aroma once it's steeping in room temp. H20. Due to the lack of taste and aroma, it's best to cold brew than hot. You only mute the flavor more with hot. The original Eng. breakfast tea was a Keemun. It later switched to Assam for lower price. These days, a breakfast tea usually has Keemun or Assam. Ceylon is not considered English breakfast tea usually. It may have a more Earthy and wood taste similar to hold up as a breakfast tea, but that does not make it a breakfast tea any more than most Darjeeling having similar notes. In terms of making it cold brew and having it concentrated enough, it does have a sturdy, hefty taste and feel which is very different from many Ceylon teas. As for it holding up much flavor with some milk, no. It seems more enjoyable as is. There's not a lingering after taste. It's as if a lot was muted with the aroma so even the taste is held back and the finish is hidden. The taste is sturdy to make it seem like a breakfast tea, but once you add a splash of milk, it doesn't hold up the same as the other heavy, black teas. Even when the teas is more concentrated, it still doesn't blend well enough to taste a certain way. I was looking forward to trying another single estate Ceylon. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the distinctive taste or dry tea aroma that has me wanting more. It has me wonder about the grade. If there was a distinctive aroma to stand out in a good way, then the price isn't bad. Since there's nothing memorable, the price doesn't seem worth it. Most Ceylon teas are better to blend with. If you're wanting a breakfast tea in which you can add milk to it and taste right, this is NOT it. If you're wanting a more aromatic Ceylon, try another. If you want a sturdy, brisk Ceylon, this is it. Something that can blend with a basic Darjeeling or Nilgiri if you want another note or dimension to the tea. Another way to describe this is if you're walking into a white painted room. Empty, clean and plain. Just in black tea form. Cold brew any tea and then add hot or cold H20 will make it smoother, not astringent and stay fresh for weeks. If you ever come across a tea that's very astringent or harsher in taste or worry about burning your tea, cold steeping is the way to go. Make it concentrated with less H20 and then dilute to your liking. Always have a 2nd or 3rd rinse to extract everything from the leaves.

Weak sauce
I don't love this. It seems a bit weak. The color is kind of orange rather than dark brown. I wouldn't buy again. Also I was not paying attention and this is only 8 oz. I thought it was 16, so it's a bit pricey. Now I'm glad it's only 8 oz because it's not great
