It depends on how you use it. Using it with fine dust from sanding pressure treated wood in the hot sun (sweat) of Haiti, I'd say 30 hours. Really heavy dust maybe half that time before you are working hard to pull in air. I'm sure paint in the air (spray work) could clog almost any filter in an hour or two. I hope this helps.

Will these 3m 60923hb1-c filters fit the mask i have from home depot which has my old 3m 60923 cartridges on it?

Yes, definitely. It's the same connection. I purchase these for those masks as well, and also use both 3M 60923 and 3M 60923HB1-C purchased through Amazon. They fit exactly the same.

Will this work for hydrochloric acid vapor? Or any highly corrosive acid vapors?

The below information is from the Airgas site that describes the 60923 cartridge. You should also search the 3M site for descriptions and application uses for their cartridges to make sure it's accurate: When properly fitted, helps provide respiratory protection from certain organic vapors, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, or hydrogen sulfide or hydrogen fluoride as well as non-oil and oil particulates at concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces or 50 times PEL with full facepieces
