I’m embarrassed to have to ask this, but what is an “automa deck”?

Don’t be embarrassed. Everyone started playing these games knowing absolutely nothing and either asked questions or were otherwise instructed. 😊👍🏻

What is the difference between the collectible version versus the regular edition?

There isn't a difference in the game. In the case of my collectible listing, it was damaged (as described) but not used and so Amazon wouldn't allow it to be listed as "used" so I used "collectible." I can't speak for the other collectible listing out there.

Is it great for 2 players (without the automa)?

Yes. It's a very good 2-player game.
