Not smelly
I personally don't think this product smells that bad. It just smells a little like old fried fish and if you aren't used to that/ hate that smell then this might not be the product for you. The only time I really smell it is when I open the bottle to use it. When it comes to plants smelling it isn't noticeable unless you stick your face in the plant after using it. Make sure you use the directions and dilute correctly. If you are really scared of the smell dilute it a lot. It will still work and if you feel that it wasn't enough to fertilize your plants fertilize them again next time you water, this product is organic so it won't harm/burn them. I use this for indoor plants and dilute is just as the directions say and its fine! I actually have used it with a little more than the recommended amount and my place doesn't stink up from it. I live in a small NY apartment and I have a lot of plants. I don't smell the fishy smell unless, as i already said, you put your face in the plant. It MIGHT smell a little in the surrounding 6ish inch radius but only for one night and the next day nothing. But I really don't notice it and I am sensitive to smells. I was really worried it would stink up my place like some other people said but it hasn't for me. The plants I use it for include: Areca Palm Aloe Vera Marble Queen Pothos Cebu Blue Pothos Money Plant Calathea Medallion Snake Plant Rubber Plant Lemon Button Fern Variegated Peace Lily My Variegated Peace Lily was almost dead and this fertilizer helped bring it back! I know people say that once your plant is pretty much dying that fertilizer can't help. In this case before I started using it, it was already coming back but this fertilizer helped it come along really well! I hadn't watered my peace lily in two weeks and it was outgrowing its pot already as in there were roots starting to come up from the soil so a lot of the leaves got crispy/died. It wasn't one of those times where it's just flat and lifeless and water will bring it back, no, it was really dying and I lost 7/8 of the plant. It was already on the road to recovery before I started using the fertilizer but I really do believe this helped it a lot when I started using it! I started seeing waaaaayyyyy more new growth and my peace lily looks revived. My rubber plant was producing smaller leaves than it usually has and when I started using the fertilizer the new leaves were bigger than any leaves it had ever produced and its pushing out so many new ones now! Note*** No other factors were changed (light, water) Some tips if you really are worried: Don't use a watering can when using this product. I'd recommend using a plastic qt. water bottle (reduce, reuse, recycle). I'll rinse the inside when I'm done using it but I think being able to fully seal whatever container being used with this product just eases my mind a lot. I typically will bring my plants to the sink when I water them so that all the water just drains out the drain. If you don't already, you should do this when using the fertilizer to make sure you don't have any fishy smelling water in your drainage tray this way everything just goes down the sink and no your sink won't smell like it either just run the faucet a little and rinse the sink. I let my plants sit in the sink a little to make sure that all of the excess drains out. I also take a wet paper towel and rinse the pot a little before putting the plant back where it was. If you do this and then see that water is still coming out and going into the drainage tray, empty it as soon as you see it! Best of luck!

Simple to use, excellent performance
This fertilizer has been working very well for me. It's a medium thick liquid that mixes easily with water. The usage rates range from 1 to 4 tablespoons per gallon depending on what you're looking to feed. Thus, the one quart container will last for some time for a typical backyard or raised bed garden. It's a 5-1-1 formulation. As with any organic fertilizer it has a smell to it. I don't find it objectionable -- I've certainly used smellier fertilizers -- but it's something to be aware of if you garden in close quarters to neighbors. The formulation, ease of use, quality and value are all excellent -- five stars.

Gives plants what they need at initial planting
This is a highly recommended water soluble, immediately available fertilizer with a good amount of nitrogen. I use it for most plants when I initially plant them and every 2 weeks until flowering when I switch to a fertilizer with more potassium and phosphorus. i rated it at 4 because it is smelly.

Best fertilizer
It’s my go to fertilizer it makes tons of fertilizer I mix it in jugs to make it easier to pour. For the people complaining about its smell it’s literally fish it’s in the name, it goes away after a day of it being poured in the plant. I don’t have to worry about over fertilizing as I have never had a plant be sun sensitive afterwards. I also will say in cooler weather the fertilizer can be thicker Im using a little bit of boiling water in the jug and mix then fill up the rest with cold water and that seems to dissolve it fast. It’s my first time ordering it and it arrived perfectly all though I will say the lid should have had a plastic wrap or should have bin in a bag since it was just tossed in a cardboard box.

My go-to fertilizer for seedlings.
I use this fertilizer to bottom water my seedlings after they show their first true leaves. This stinks, but it is soooo beneficial for the plants. After fertilizing, they put on so much new green leafy growth. I will continue to use this fertilizer!

New gardener review!
New gardener here! I’ve used this product a couple of times now and I feel like I can already see healthier plants! I use it in my raised garden bed on my veggies, herbs, and flowers! It dissolves easily in water, the smell isn’t fantastic but it is fish fertilizer. Great price for how much you get.
