Where exactly in the filter is this pillow supposed to go?

preferably in your filter or somewhere with a lot of water movement

What is the recharging process?

3 tablespoons aquarium salt dissolved in 7 ounces of tap water, use a shallow dish. Rinse the pillow after removing from filter area and soak in salt solution for 2 hrs. Always store pillow in salt solution when not using. Discard pillow when it is no longer effective (check the water hardness to verify.) I use a plastic Chinese to-go dish, the white rectangular ones.

Does it hurt to leave the pillows in the filter until next water change? Will it shorten the life of the pillows (x's you can recharge)?

The instruction I found online say that it should not be left in for long periods. And, you can recharge it with sunlight, if you use it for the period of time only long enough to get the change you are looking for in the water. Thanks my experience.
