I never tried snapchat myself but I think you should be able to use it on your Alcatel U3. Depending on how much space you are left with the phone has only 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of default memory storage capacity. But you can extend the storage with an SD card. Mind you the phone is a very basic with low processing capacity. Apps could run sluggish.

Can I download WhatsApp on this phone

I’ve managed to install WhatsApp on this phone. But it was not a straight forward thing. The phone has only 4GB space and most of it is already taken by the inbuilt (default) apps that came with the phone and could not be uninstalled. You have little space left to install other apps. What I did was: I got me an external SD, formatted it as an internal storage. So that I can install apps and move data on it. But I still couldn’t install Whatsapp because apps need much more space than their actual size during installation. I finally managed to install WhatsApp after 1. disabling some of the default apps temporarily (chrome,youtube,play Music). 2. Clean up the cache
