Easy assembly
So far this review is for assembly and testing only .. the bike has not yet been given as a gift I will update after active use. Bike came mostly assembled which is great ... I'm fairly handy and experienced at assembling products . It took me about an hour by myself to fully assemble also in part because I didn't have the right size wrench or socket somehow the nuts are a size in between on all my tool sets yet it was still easy to do with pliers / adjustable wrench etc . The bike looks fantastic and has that "BMX" look that kids should really enjoy . Installation included inserting and tightening the seat , inserting straightening and tightening the handlebars and front tires ( important to spend time here to ensure the tire is balanced , straight and aligned with the handlebars / frame ). Installing the foot pedals was a simple 1 bolt operation. Simple adjustments like tightening reflectors and hand brake position. Installing and tightening the seat ( also important to make sure it's straight). The tires came completely flat but firmly affixed to the rims . I filled the tires and so far they seem to be holding proper inflation. The rear brake was almost ideal out of the box so a slight tightening was done on the rear brake cable. The front brake cable was too loose to catch the tire , about 5 minutes of tweaking and tightening and the brake now seems to perform as intended . Bike comes with a kickstand and chain guard already installed which both function well . The bike also has a pedal brake. So far so good will update as necessary.

Sturdy, well made, beautiful color, hand and foot breaks. Awesome!
Exactly what we were looking for! We got this for our 7 year old daughter for Christmas. She really wanted a teal colored bike and this really fit the bill perfectly. We saw others and had her sit on and try lots of other style bikes to make sure we would get one she'd be confident and comfortable riding. She's still getting comfortable riding bikes without training wheels (we live in a rural area where there's a lot of dirt and the only place she can ride is in the street which makes it difficult for me to keep an eye on her all the time). Anyway, so I believe she still needs the foot breaks until she transitions to a hand break only bike. This was the only bike I could find that was all the things we needed, right color, and it has the hand and foot breaks. We found that the BMX style bikes were uncomfortable for her because you have to lean farther forward on them to reach the handles. This one gives you a more upright posture while riding and has a more cushioned seat than the BMX style bikes that we tried. Obviously she hasn't been able to ride it much but roll it around the house a bit because it's winter time and there's a lot of snow outside, but it looks like a very well made and sturdy bike that I expect to last for many years. She loves it, and I love it. My husband put it together in maybe 20 minutes or less. Definitely recommend. The price tag was a bit more than I wanted to spend on a bike, but for the quality and it having everything we were looking for, it was definitely worth it. Shipping was fast, no complaints.

Assembly Required
I bought two of these Schwinn Koen 20 bikes. I selected this bike because it has both a coaster break as well as front and rear hand breaks. Both bikes must have been factory assembled with power tools. I’m a strong man and struggled with the rear axel nuts. Every thing from the chain to the axle bearings were over tightened… probably for shipping purposes. This explains some of the negative reviews I’ve seen.. At 68 I’ve assembled and repaired many bikes and these two were no harder than any of those in my past. The bikes are down sized everywhere to accommodate a child’s hands, feet, legs etc. and I like that. They are solid built and should last a long time. The price was comparable to others in its class and I think a better quality. Every thing was well greased and fit without any issues. I only had to lube the pedals and chain which is a normal part of bike assembly. Would I recommend this bike for a child… absolutely! Would I buy them again… yes, but probably won’t need to. Schools out next week… 🤫

Beautiful Bike
Got this bike for my 8yr old who is tall for her age, she loves it & it’s the perfect fit. Putting it together was simple but i did take it to the bike shop to fill the tires completely & tighten what i may have missed. The bike is super sturdy & absolutely worth the price. Can definitely last a long time.

It's a bike
This comes out of the box and my kid couldn't ride it. Frustrating. It took practice and lots of help for her to learn to ride this bike. But very safe. She never fell once. Very stable bike. Came in a big box with a bright picture on the side, a picture of the bike, so she didn't have to wait to be surprised on her birthday, she could see it weeks before. So that was good. Seeing your kid light up on their birthday is the worst. This bike just keeps going. Never tires or breaks down. So 5 stars for that.

Excellent bike
We got this bike for my son's 8th birthday. He has had it for over a week and he loves it. It was easy to assemble but we were not able to put the training wheels we got separately. We checked before buying it on the Q&A section and it said that training wheels could be use but ours didn't fit. We even took the bike to a local bike store and they said that the axle was too short for any training wheels. In any case my son was determined to ride it and he did it the very first day, so for us it wasn't a really bad thing not having the training wheels but if you really need them, then you probably need to look for something that comes with training wheels. The other thing is that the front reflector light broke on the third day when my son tried to lift the bike and the handle bar turned almost all the way to the side and the reflector light scratched the frame and broke. Overall we think it's a sturdy, good quality bike, serving its purpose and we got it for a good price.

Warning to parents - Manufacturing/product control issues.
The bike is really nice, and packaged well. I was surprised that UPS delivered the box in such good condition (only one small break in the box. Unfortunately, the bike I received was defective. The front fork (which holds the front wheel) was manufactured bent. It definitely does not seem to have been bent during shipping, since something like that would more likely happen somewhere in the middle to the end of the fork....and again, the shipping box looked great. Instead, as far as I can tell it was welded crookedly at the base, so that the end of the left fork (where the front wheel bolts on) was significantly closer to the center line of the frame, than the right fork. I'm trying to imagine how that could've made it through the quality control part of the manufacturing process...and I'm struggling! At any rate, parents who bought this bike, please take a close look at the fork alignment. Stand in front of the bike, straighten out the front wheel so that it is directly inline with the frame of the bike, and see if the bike looks "crooked" when observing the fork and looking down the center line of the frame. Incidentally, the fork on our bike was so far out of whack that the reason that I detected it was that I was having an unusual amount of trouble aligning the front wheel (which doesn't really need much alignment because of the hooked washer that's meant to make it easy to install). So, the refund request is in and it's going to UPS tomorrow! (FYI, beautiful bike. If you buy it or already bought it, just check what I suggest you check herein since it's not worth the risk for your kid's safety...and the manufacturer is clearly not inspecting every bike that leaves the factory). (Updated): I had to update this review because I forgot to mention in my original review that the hub in the front and rear wheels made a grinding noise! As if the bearings were already worn. I recalled this as I am still looking to buy a bike for my kid, and was reading the reviews here again, which reminded me of the wheel bearing issues that I had detected. I'm very, very concerned about the quality of this bike. I suggest reading all of the 1 and 2 star reviews here to get an idea of what issues to look out for if you purchase this brand.

Excellent Bike
I was a little skeptical at first given a few of the reviews, but was thoroughly impressed. A lot easier to put together than had been described, would just recommend buying a ratchet set (check out Maxpower 11-piece 3/8") which is a great tool to own. Handle bars are a little stiff at the onset, but can oil or really takes about 2 days of use to normalize. Very stable, saw some complaints about weight and yes, while it's heavy compared to a Tour de France bike (except maybe the secretly motorized ones), it's relatively inline with most other kids bikes. Overall, I think it's a great bike, easy to assemble and very good value for the price paid.
