Classic 7542 with quick delivery?! Couldn't ask for much more...
Pretty straight forward. 150g of 7542 for $25 is never a bad deal. Delicious smokey and malty flavor that mellows out into a more chestnutty cream flavor with hints of vanilla later on. Its a young sheng, so you are getting what you order. Probably benefit from decent storage for another year or so (good humidity and heat, no odors etc) but for long term aging Id probably go for the regular 357g cakes. Still, in a pinch this seems to be an excellent deal. Also, Ive seen reviews for similar products noting that this tastes incomplete a not like puer that they are use to. There are 2 types of puer, raw(sheng) and cooked/ripe (shou). This is a sheng, and a young sheng at that, which typically people age for a while before drinking. That is a matter of preference, and a lot of people like myself enjoy drinking them young as well. Ripes are good to go right out of the package, though aging can help. If you dont think this tastes like what your familiar with, it is probably because you are use to aged shengs or ripes, and you may opt for a ripe dayi like a 7572. These young shengs will taste bitter and smokey, with a bit of tobacco flavor. They will sweeten and become more malty and complex with age.

Mediocre young sheng.
I guess this tea tastes exactly what you would expect. Factory tea on Amazon. Not bad, but not great either. It's bitter, as it should be, while it's this young. But it is a bit thin with not much mouthfeel. There is a slight off smell in the leavesbafter steeping, but it's really suddle and I probably would have even noticed it if not for the other reviews slamming it. The cake I got was 10 months after pressing, so this is very young. It was dated Aug 12, so these are summer leaves which can explain the lack of debth in the flavor. The price wasn't expensive at $20 for the 150gm cake. But I have a lot of great young sheng that I bought for around $45 per 357gm cake. So it isn't less expensive than the good stuff. In short, if you like it, drink it. I'm not going to throw it away, but it probably won't get drunk very fast as there are a lot of great teas out there and only so many hours in the day.

RaW Puh-Erh Teas need to acclimate to their New Surroundings first, before being tasted.
I've never had RaW Puh-Erh Tea before. All the other Puh-Erh Teas I've had have been the CooK'ed Puh-Erh Teas, and I heard that because the Processing is completely different, the Fermentation Action and Enzyme Processing Action for each being Different, the Taste for Each is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT for Each, from the Other, and I wanted to try a RaW Puh-Erh Tea for myself, and see whether this is true, or not. So, I'm just letting this sit in my bedroom, where the temperature, humidity, and air is pretty much stable, 24/7, for a few months, to let this RaW Puh-Erh Tea get Acclimated to it's New Surroundings, before I Break It Open to try it. I shall UPDATE this Review, after I do try this out, and will share the results after I do that. Until then, May Peace and Tea be With You!!! :o)

Excellent
Awesomely mellow. Iโm glad I took a chance and tried TAETEA 7542 Classic Raw Pu-erh From Amazon. I wish they sold it in a Tong. Sweet, clean, no bitterness, no dryness and the aroma is unbelievably sweet and fruity.

Too much expectation makes disappointed me.
I love their 7572 ripe puerh tea so I give it a try to order this raw tea. I brew it with a gaiwan but the taste is bitter and not good. No sweetness or aroma at all. I barely finish the tea and regret it. The raw puerh tea less than 10years is somewhat bitter and not smooth as a ripe tea but this is total waste of money.

Classic, nice flavor and smell, but a little too expensive
Very famous and classic raw pu'er tea. The product I received was produced two years ago in 2017. After 2 years of aging, it gets a mild but profound taste, not strong at all. Let the tea cools down, it has a honey-like smell. Very nice overall except that the price is twice as much as it is in China. Still affordable, but the extra cost adds up over time.
