5th Element Stealth Men’s Recreational Ice Hockey Skates – True-to-Size

I recently picked up the 5th Element Stealth Ice Hockey Skates for some casual skating with my kids and was blown away by how great they felt. As someone who played hockey for years when I was younger, I wanted a skate that would feel familiar without costing a fortune (Bauer, I'm looking at you). These skates delivered everything I hoped for. -Sharpening and Fit- I had the skates sharpened before my first use (a must for any new pair), and they performed flawlessly on the ice. The fit was true to size, providing a snug but comfortable feel that offered great control and support. The padding is just right, firm enough for stability but still good during longer sessions. -On the Ice- I’ve used them for both recreational skating and some pick-up hockey games, and they’ve held up beautifully with the blade not dulling rapidly (a sign of poor quality steel). They offer excellent balance and responsiveness, making turns and stops feel effortless. Even after hours on the ice, my feet felt great. -Why You’ll Love Them- -True-to-size fit and excellent comfort. -Durable construction for recreational skating and hockey. -Great performance for the price, an unbeatable value! -Pretty good/standard design that doesn't look like a roller-blade or rental skate. An incredible value for the price. I use these recreationally during the winter. I prefer not to rent ice skates because of hygiene and comfort concerns, so I decided to buy my own. These skates are comfortable, well-made, and perform very well. They probably won't meet the expectations of professional or highly competitive skaters, but for someone like me who skates for fun during the winter, they're more than satisfying. The overall build quality is also very good.

I'm still plenty satisfied with them as my first personal skates, although that itself means I have no other baseline. The quality is more than satisfactory, and I get more than enough support, the boot is a tough and rigid hardboot, which I'm a fan of as I always liked ankle stability over flexibility on inline skate boots. I was on the factory sharpen (which was infact properly profiled and concaved) till about 2-3 weeks ago and will say I recommend a sharpen pretty early on, but it's also not necessary in the sense that you can't skate without a sharpening. I also recommend you replace the laces with waxed ones as well, it helps with tightening any skates, but especially more rigid ones, alongside longer lace lifespan/durability and cleanliness.

These were a good option for both performance and affordability. For those starting out and trying to look for cheap(ish) options these are a really nice and comfortable I wear a size 9 and were true to size

I LEARNED SKATING AND PLAYING HOCKEY ON LEATHER SKATES DECADES AGO, SO WHEN I GOT BACK INTO IT AFTER MANY YEARS I PURCHASED THE MODERN CCM AND BAUER SKATES AND FELT LIKE THEY DON'T ABSORB ICE IMPERFECTIONS AND THE PLASTIC DESIGN FELT WAY TOO RIGID AND SKATING ESPECIALLY BACKWARDS WAS VERY UNSTEADY, SO I KEPT SEARCHING AND FOUND THESE 5TH ELEMENTS MADE OF LEATHER, FABRIC AND PLASTIC. THEIR DELIVERY WAS VERY FAST, THEY CAME IN A BEAUTIFUL BOX, LOOKING FANTASTIC, ONE SKATE WEIGHS 1074 GRAMS WHICH IS HEAVIER THAN THE MODERN SKATES, SO I WONDERED IF I WILL BE SLOWER. I PUT THEM ON TODAY FOR A TOUGH HOCKEY PRACTICE SESSION AND THE SECOND I STEPPED ON THE ICE THEY FELT AMAZING, ABSORBING ICE IMPERFECTIONS, SO COMFORTABLE, SO STABLE, WARM, ACTUALLY LIGHT AND FAST IN EVERY DIRECTION. I WILL BE PURCHASING ANOTHER PAIR. SIZE IS TRUE TO THE REGULAR SHOE SIZE. YOU GET YOUR MONEY REALLY WORTH.

We purchased these for Christmas for our teenager, and they have worked great. We are just casual skaters, skating on outdoor rinks and lakes a few times each winter. He wore some thick socks for extra comfort, skates arrived sharp and ready for skating, and once tightened well - provided great ankle support.

Bought these for my husband for Christmas and he loves them. They’re comfortable they fit him well and it’s a great sturdy skate. Highly recommend.
