I was so nervous about using one of these, but now I've tried it I will never go back! (Sorry this is a detailed review so strap in) I've always been a pad user; I have used tampons in the past and felt comfortable using them but a pad just seemed easier for me. I'd seen menstrual cups advertised and saw some people reviewing them. I was interested as it seemed better for the environment but I felt incredibly nervous. After doing some research I found the pixie cup, and the fact that they give these to women in need too was amazing. I had a quick look on their website as they do a variety of cups and wasn't sure which one was right for me (if you're unsure too they have a quick quiz on their website which I recommend doing, especially if you are like me and had no idea how to tell where your cervix was, which a lot of companies recommend you do before buying). I then bought the regular one (as was recommended), and it worked beautifully for me. If you're not sure where to start with what to buy (as there are a lot of different products to chose from) I bought the cup and their menstrual cup wash (which I found incredibly useful as well). I do have the steriliser now too, but I think in terms of necessity you only need the cup itself and the cleaner. The cup does come with wipes which are incredibly useful if you're in a public bathroom, and you can sterilise your cup without the steriliser. I would start with just the cup and the cleaner and see how you go. When the cup first arrived it came with a really great information pack guiding you through. When I first started using it I was apprehensive, and insertion was tricky. A lot of people recommend the C-fold which I tried, but after about two days and leaks I looked up other folds as it just didn't work for me. I ended up trying the punch down fold and found this worked so much better and was 1000 times easier (there are so many ways you can fold it and there are tutorials on YouTube too). Actually using the cup I was so pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. After finding a better fold that worked for me, I can now insert it on the first try. Now I'm a bit more practised I can take it out, clean it, and re-insert it in about five minutes. Taking out the cup was actually really easy from the get-go, I love the bobble at the end of the stem as it is always really easy to find. Cleaning was so easy with the cleaner, and inserting it back in again was easy once I found the right fold for me. In terms of the mechanics of it I find it is obviously harder than traditional period products such as a pad or tampon, and for a while it takes a lot longer. However, it gets easier with practice and time. When the cup was in, I was blown away! There were a few tiny leaks whilst I was getting the hang of it, but I would put it in/change it when I woke up and before I went to work, would do an entire shift (I work quite long hours) with it in and without worrying, and then change it between 8 - 12 hours. It took so much stress and thinking pressure off of me, as I didn't need to worry about leaks or changing it regularly, I just went about my day! There was no odour which was great, and I didn't have that awful wet-pad feeling which I hated, so this was unexpected bonus that didn't occur to me at the time. I felt so much more hygienic, and some days I genuinely forgot I was on my period. It didn't take over my week as much as it usually does. I felt so impressed that I didn't have to worry for up to 12 hours; I am so tired on my period that I can easily sleep for that long and it was relief to know I wouldn't have to set an alarm to get up and change a pad/tampon, or worry about leaks on bedsheets. Changing it in a public bathroom is a bit more tricky, but as said the wipes really help with this and it's very manageable. Sorry this is so long! But I absolutely love this product! I love that my period is less stress now, I feel more hygienic, it's more environmentally friendly, I'm saving money in the long run, it's helping other women, and I can use this 10 years! I was so nervous to use this, but I am absolutely converted and cannot tell you how pleased I am that I've tried it! If you're apprehensive, honestly give it a go. It's a lot of trial and error I think, but once you've figured out what's best for you it's life changing!

I use the menstrual cup for years now and I decided to order a new one and try Pixie. The first time I put it on, I felt a bit uncomfortable with some liking, so I had to try a few times before getting right. I guess this is just the standard procedure. Now it just feels perfect and I can forget to be on my period! I love the pinky colour and the little back with a zip that comes with it. It is just perfect to fit the cup and the steriliser cup together to carry it with me all the time.

I’ve been using menstrual cups for a few years because pads always irritated me, the left one is my first diva cup that I replaced once over the couple years of usage. It’s soft and small, I did notice it always leaked a little bit so i bit the bullet and ended up buying the pixie cup because of the positive reviews. The size difference and firmness of the cup is really frightening but I thought maybe that would help with preventing leaks. Unfortunately it’s just really uncomfortable, it’s very firm and I can feel it everytime I sit or move. I struggled with opening it inside and the last thing I want to do on the first day of my period is taking a deep dive to open a cup up inside. It did not leak once throughout the day which was amazing so still definitely recommend to try if you can get sizing right. I must say the customer service is absolutely fantastic though. I did email them about my problem and they offered to send me a smaller size. I will be reordering once they have it in stock.

I am really happy with my Pixie Cup! A friend suggested to me that I should invest in a menstrual cup, which is something I had never before considered, because of the environmental benefits. I purchased a large size because I have a heavy flow but am only young and have not given birth (advise taken from other people's reviews). I was (and still am!) not 100% trusting of the cup's abilities since it feels really scary not wearing anything else down there - but every time I have worn a pad or liner with it It has almost never been necessary. It's obviously much better for the environment not to rip through loads of sanitary products every month and this is the main benefit. I also love the fact that I can go out and not worry about taking loads of tampons with me, or worry about having to change them a few times a day! Its also fantastic because you can wear it as you are coming on and off and your flow is much lighter (something which is painful or impossible with tampons). The only downside I would give to the product is that I have left it in overnight on two or three occasions now and have woke up to find it hasn't worked at all. I think it may be because its shape becomes squashed when you sleep in certain positions and so it leaks. This is a shame but maybe it can be resolved by trying out a smaller size? I am not sure. Another slight issue (though not major) is that it is extremely messy and a lot of effort to replace each time - but since you only need to replace it twice a day (max) its not the end of the world. Overall I am very happy that I have made a switch to a cup and think that everyone should give it a go! Especially those with lighter flows who I think this would be perfect for.

The hardest thing about menstrual cups is there's no one-size-fits-all. It might take a few before you know what suits you, which isn't cheap, but honestly when you've struggled with periods for a long time its worth it. I have what seems to be a somewhat low cervix, I've tried a soft small cup which was easy to remove but hard to get open, needed emptying more and sometimes leaked, I've tried a more regular cup which opened easily but was hard to remove and felt slightly too big and uncomfortable. The Pixie cup classic XS small is perfect for me. I've only used it for one day and I can already tell it's a blessing. Not too big, not too small, comfortable and forgettable, just the right firmness that it opens easily and isn't hard to remove. The ONLY thing that bothers me is the end of the stem, its flat to the point that it feels a bit nippy and sharp down below, but I'd say taking a pair or scissors and rounding off the edge will help a lot.

I have been using a cup for around 8 years now. After trying a couple of other brands I found my ‘Goldilocks’ cup with Pixie and have been using the same cup for about 6-7 years. It still works fine but I decided I deserved a fresh one so ordered a large as I assumed that’s what I had been using. I was wrong. I could tell the difference before using it so I contacted Pixie customer support admitting my error. They were fantastic and immediately sent me an XL FOC which arrived 3 days later. They even let me keep the large one, which I can keep in my bag for emergencies. I’m so impressed. I’ve yet to use the new one but I know from experience that it’s the cup for me. The XL comes in a gorgeous little pink cord bag with some wipes. Whilst cups do take a bit of getting used to they are definitely worth persevering with, and the support that Pixie provides is fantastic.

38, no children, 5'5" tall and light periods lasting 3 days. 1st I tried a leading competitors small cup. Uncomfortable stem which had to be trimmed. Cup massively leaked all the time. Possibly too small as they suggest it's for teens? 2nd I tried Pixie Cup size Large. Very comfortable, couldn't feel it but it was hard to open and it also leaked. At my wits end I wrote to Pixie Cup explaining the problems that I was having. I found it difficult to place the cup, and get it open, my muscles seemed to crush it. Even when it was open it leaked. It seemed to want to sit low. Pixie Cup got back to me very quickly and said it sounded like I had a low cervix and that I should try the Luxe. They sent me the small Luxe for free. AND SUCCESS!! From the first time I used it completely leak free throughout my period. I'll admit, I reckon it does take 3 cycles to actually get the hang of placing it also, but this is definitely the best cup. I don't feel it and I barely have to empty it. I recommend the punch fold also. I had been using the C cup fold but I think the punch is better for getting it open. Stick with it, this really is the bomb!

So firstly the quality, presentation and design of the cup for the average user is faultless. Once inserted I could not feel the cup and was much more comfortable than my last. However, lucky me I have a high and tilted cervix which means that the cup goes pretty much out of reach and the tab goes at an angle. Without going into detail my husband had to assist which was not fun. I really wanted this to work as it had such good reviews but I need a much longer tab like my last cup.

Was looking for a tampon replacement so I first ordered a size Large, easy insertion but it was too large and painful on my bladder/pelvis. The seller was kind enough to send me a size Small replacement, but that one is also uncomfortable. Comparing both sizes, there is very minimal difference. The Small being slightly shorter, but not much thinner if at all. The standardized shapes just do not fit my needs whatsoever. Also very frustrating that you are not supposed to pull on the tail of the cup, but instead are supposed to reach both fingers in and pinch the bottom of the cup to pull it out. This was more difficult for me. Overall the cups did not suit my needs physically or functionally.

Was hoping I’d get the dark colour one but didn’t. I bought it as my large organi-cup is still too small for my heavy days. Getting used to it- had major leaks on first use but hopefully. Packaged well

Before (practice on a dry run) So it did this weird thing where it didn’t pop open inside at first but now I thought I figured it out but I’m not sure if when I put my finger up there if it’s folding because of my finger?? But also if I like take it out it pops open then, and I’m not sure if it because it’s not opened or if it just folds down because my opening it small and it smushes it ?? Also I kept pinching my skin around my vagina which hurt a lot, but I left it in over night since I could feel my period coming, and I emailed them my concerns. Day one I started my period at school at close to the end of the day so I popped it in and bam! It just went in so easy and it make a loud slurping noise which probably didn’t sound so good to the other girls in the bathroom lol. I put a pad on just Incase. And it worked! It didn’t leak and it did its job! I took it out in the shower at the end of the day surprisingly there wasn’t much blood but it I poured it out it like exploded like it was super concentrated. It I put it back it back in it wouldn’t cooperate yet again, and First I thought was because I was standing, then I tried Sitting on the toilet didn’t work, but when I laid down in my bed it popped right open and sucked in air, I got a little freaked out because it felt like there’s to much air in there but a little bubble came out and I feel much more comfortable now. Day 2 I was pleased to see that is didn’t leak during the night and it was working! But emptying it made a pretty big mess though. I wore it for the day, it worked perfect! I kinda learned that with this then you just have to trust it to work, because there’s no way to for sure know if it popped open completely. But I never ever had any leaking! Or pain or feeling uncomfortable. Although my only complaint is that the removal and putting it back in was painful but it would quickly go away and it fine, and it was fine though the night! They also emailed me back and explained there was learning curve, and my body needs to get used to it, they also offered to send me a smaller cup! Day 3 It’s still working and I think I’ve got a pretty good hang of it!! It still is a little painful going in and out, but I totally forget about it when it settles it’s pretty crazy! With tampons I constantly feeling bubbles and keep reminding myself to change it not to risk any infections, and with pads well it’s feels like a diaper so it’s impossible to forget. But with the cup i totally forget I’m even on my period! It’s amazing! I just can’t believe that I don’t feel something that big! It’s also amazing to clean, it’s just so east and everything just slides out, so far it hasn’t stained! But that might be because it’s pink and not clear. Day 4: Not sure what else to say! It did it’s job and it was great! Went in and out smoothly and no leaking ! After: So I made a mistake,,, and totally forgot to take it out aaannnd now it seems to be stained with a horrible smell, but! I read up on it, and I’m soaking it in a 3% vinegar bath which many people say cures the bad smell I’m hoping it’ll work! Over all review: I’d definitely give this a 6 out of 5 if I could! This is a amazing product! I can’t believe that I used to be so creeped out by these things and when my sister told me about it I thought to myself “I’ll never use that vampire shot glass!!” But look at me now! I love how reused able it is, making it so eco friendly! I love how you don’t have to deal with making sure you have enough tampons or pads when you go on a trip! Also not to mention if apocalypses/natural disasters where to happen this will be a lifesaver (sorry to be a downer but I live in a high earthquake risk) also the company making these are just the best! They really care about what people have to say, wether it’s good or bad, they also donate a cup to a woman in need which I love and think is amazing! I’m totally hooked and am happy with this cup!
