This is a game changer, absolutely converted!
I was so nervous about using one of these, but now I've tried it I will never go back! (Sorry this is a detailed review so strap in) I've always been a pad user; I have used tampons in the past and felt comfortable using them but a pad just seemed easier for me. I'd seen menstrual cups advertised and saw some people reviewing them. I was interested as it seemed better for the environment but I felt incredibly nervous. After doing some research I found the pixie cup, and the fact that they give these to women in need too was amazing. I had a quick look on their website as they do a variety of cups and wasn't sure which one was right for me (if you're unsure too they have a quick quiz on their website which I recommend doing, especially if you are like me and had no idea how to tell where your cervix was, which a lot of companies recommend you do before buying). I then bought the regular one (as was recommended), and it worked beautifully for me. If you're not sure where to start with what to buy (as there are a lot of different products to chose from) I bought the cup and their menstrual cup wash (which I found incredibly useful as well). I do have the steriliser now too, but I think in terms of necessity you only need the cup itself and the cleaner. The cup does come with wipes which are incredibly useful if you're in a public bathroom, and you can sterilise your cup without the steriliser. I would start with just the cup and the cleaner and see how you go. When the cup first arrived it came with a really great information pack guiding you through. When I first started using it I was apprehensive, and insertion was tricky. A lot of people recommend the C-fold which I tried, but after about two days and leaks I looked up other folds as it just didn't work for me. I ended up trying the punch down fold and found this worked so much better and was 1000 times easier (there are so many ways you can fold it and there are tutorials on YouTube too). Actually using the cup I was so pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. After finding a better fold that worked for me, I can now insert it on the first try. Now I'm a bit more practised I can take it out, clean it, and re-insert it in about five minutes. Taking out the cup was actually really easy from the get-go, I love the bobble at the end of the stem as it is always really easy to find. Cleaning was so easy with the cleaner, and inserting it back in again was easy once I found the right fold for me. In terms of the mechanics of it I find it is obviously harder than traditional period products such as a pad or tampon, and for a while it takes a lot longer. However, it gets easier with practice and time. When the cup was in, I was blown away! There were a few tiny leaks whilst I was getting the hang of it, but I would put it in/change it when I woke up and before I went to work, would do an entire shift (I work quite long hours) with it in and without worrying, and then change it between 8 - 12 hours. It took so much stress and thinking pressure off of me, as I didn't need to worry about leaks or changing it regularly, I just went about my day! There was no odour which was great, and I didn't have that awful wet-pad feeling which I hated, so this was unexpected bonus that didn't occur to me at the time. I felt so much more hygienic, and some days I genuinely forgot I was on my period. It didn't take over my week as much as it usually does. I felt so impressed that I didn't have to worry for up to 12 hours; I am so tired on my period that I can easily sleep for that long and it was relief to know I wouldn't have to set an alarm to get up and change a pad/tampon, or worry about leaks on bedsheets. Changing it in a public bathroom is a bit more tricky, but as said the wipes really help with this and it's very manageable. Sorry this is so long! But I absolutely love this product! I love that my period is less stress now, I feel more hygienic, it's more environmentally friendly, I'm saving money in the long run, it's helping other women, and I can use this 10 years! I was so nervous to use this, but I am absolutely converted and cannot tell you how pleased I am that I've tried it! If you're apprehensive, honestly give it a go. It's a lot of trial and error I think, but once you've figured out what's best for you it's life changing!

Brilliant
Absolutely amazing customer service. Unfortunately I was experiencing a lot of pain when inserting but as per the card that comes with delivery I reached out and asked if this was normal and a member of the team explained that it was likely due to the sizing being too large so a new smaller size has been posted to me free of charge. The quality of the item is brilliant and it comes with a lovely little bag and a little kit with everything you need. This will improve my quality of life whilst on my period immensely as I have an extremely heavy flow and can go through 10/12 XL tampons and about 6 pads a day and still leak onto clothing. In contrast using this cup and emptying every few hours with a pad just for reassurance will massively cut down on the cost of expensive tampax. Edit: Smaller cup received and absolutely brilliant. Thank you.

Brilliant!
I have been using this product for the past 5 years and it honestly is brilliant. Fairly nerve wracking to get your head round the idea but once you've got over that it's so straight forward. There honestly are days when I forget I've even got my period! When looking for a cup to buy I really loved the fact that this company donate a cup for those in poverty each time one is bought. Their customer service is incredible, they got back in touch with me immediately and resolved my issue straight away. I am very impressed.

Lovely cup
I've used menstrual cups for years now and I've tried all the big brand names but this is the most comfortable one yet. I just received my second pixie cup to replace the last one after a clumsy toilet incident where I dropped my cup in a public restroom (that's a first for me in the 5 years I've used menstrual cups). One small suggestion to the seller, though - it would be great if there is an option to choose the color of the cup as I was a little taken aback when I opened the box and discovered a very yellow cup inside! I was not aware these cups were sold in any other colors apart from Pixie's signature pink and it would've been nice if we were allowed to choose the color of the cup when placing the order. I urgently need the cup now but would have otherwise returned it as the color is very off-putting. I am also removing a star from this review solely on this account, as when purchasing these cups I normally intend on using them for a long time and I believe being happy with every aspect of the product (color included) is very important.

This is a game changer.
Like the previous reviewer, never dreamt I’d write a review on Amazon let alone for a menstrual cup! I was initially anxious, I’m 45 and have no kids and this thing is a game changer! I struggled to get it open initially but with some gentle teasing (turn it gently once inserted) and a lot of swearing, it popped open. I’m on day one of my period, usually I’m really heavy and usually I have to double up towel and tampon... not today!! No leaks, emptied it and washed it through once and have gone the rest of the day getting less and less anxious that it might leak. I’ve even posted on Facebook to all my lady friends that they have to give this a try. I chose the pixie because of the reviews but I did but another brand too as a second option. I’m so glad I took the plunge. The key is to relax when inserting the thing and don’t get stressed out if it doesn’t pop open right away. Once in place you can feel and hear the suction working. (When you remove it you can hear it for sure!). Can I feel it? Yes... but it’s not uncomfortable... I’m just aware it’s there which is ok. The stem bit is easy to reach and taking out was a lot less traumatic than insertion! The second time I put it in was waaaaaay easier! If you are considering it, go for it! Don’t leave it till you are 45 like me. I wish I’d done it sooner!

At last... I've found my perfect cup
The hardest thing about menstrual cups is there's no one-size-fits-all. It might take a few before you know what suits you, which isn't cheap, but honestly when you've struggled with periods for a long time its worth it. I have what seems to be a somewhat low cervix, I've tried a soft small cup which was easy to remove but hard to get open, needed emptying more and sometimes leaked, I've tried a more regular cup which opened easily but was hard to remove and felt slightly too big and uncomfortable. The Pixie cup classic XS small is perfect for me. I've only used it for one day and I can already tell it's a blessing. Not too big, not too small, comfortable and forgettable, just the right firmness that it opens easily and isn't hard to remove. The ONLY thing that bothers me is the end of the stem, its flat to the point that it feels a bit nippy and sharp down below, but I'd say taking a pair or scissors and rounding off the edge will help a lot.

Life changing
With age, my cycle became more and more frequent, and the bleeding a lot heavier, to such an extent that I had to go to a GP about it. Anyway, everything is ok, but my life was really impacted, as I had to change my doubled-up sanitary products every hour, and even more often at times. My friend recommended that I try this. I was hesitant at first; you know, it's a bit unusual. But OMG, it's such a lifesaver! There's a learning curve for sure, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty amazing. No more leaks, no more stress; I feel like I've got my life back.

A great eco alternative but be careful with removal
I have listened to friends go on about the benefits of having a menstrual cup and as someone who has incredibly heavy periods, I was skeptical about whether it would be suitable for me. In the end, I did a bit of research to find one that would be suitable for heavy periods, thinking that I would save a small fortune in tampons and diminish my period's contribution to landfill. The information online on the different sizes could definitely be improved - e.g. I have never given birth, never used a menstrual cup, I have no clue what what my "cervix type" is but I do have heavy periods which I interpreted to mean I should probably get the XL version. Particularly as, if I want this to serve the purpose that Ultra tampons do, it would need to have a good capacity! The PixieCup arrived in good time and came with some nifty little wipes, lubricant and a little cotton bag. I followed the instructions, inserted the cup no problem and couldn't feel it when it was in, but the issue came with taking the thing out! The instructions are relatively clear about how to remove the cup, "After grabbing the base of the cup, pinch it to release the seal so the cup can slide out....Wiggle your Pixie Cup back and forth while guiding it out" and I was able to do so fine although it felt uncomfortable. It was only later, when Googling menstrual cup removal that I discovered the news coverage on the issues that can be caused if you don't remove menstrual cup properly, which is essentially, a prolapse. So, I would say to take care in reading the instructions and ensure you are not using pelvic floor muscles to remove the cup to avoid any problems later on. I would recommend that Pixie Cup and other menstrual cup manufacturers acknowledge this potential risk in their instructions. I'll keep persevering with the cup as it sounds like practice makes perfect and hopefully I won't need to buy another tampon again!

confortevole e facile da togliere
Cercavo una coppetta grande, questa ha funzionato bene (gradirei una taglia ancora più capiente) ed è comodissima da togliere perchè non sfugge

Why Didn’t I Try This Sooner?!
Okay I’m about to get real and graphic so if you can’t handle what I’m about to share, skip this review. I’m 5’4’’ and morbidly obese at about 330 pounds. I would shop for my wallet killers aka pads and tampons down the same aisle when I need to replenish. I kept looking at the Diva Cup on the shelf and was turned off by the price. That’s what gets me...the price. Was I that willing to fork over a ridiculous amount of money for something that’s supposed to save me so much more the rest of my life? No lol! Money is too tight these days. So I broke down and asked in a makeup group I’m in on Facebook about the Diva Cup and what their thoughts were on it. A vast, large majority said it was best thing they ever had. Which is exactly what I wanted to hear. I needed to hear the support whether it was good or bad. So I ordered this at the tail end of my period so it’s not like I had a lot of “obstacles” in the way trying this out. I’m a very huge woman so I found that doing the trifold method versus just folding the cup over once worked best for me. I relaxed my muscles and just pretended like it was a tampon I’m inserting only it’s a purple silicone funnel lol! I tried inserting standing up and it just wasn’t working for me. I did wayyyyy better sitting down on the toilet which is best when you have to take it out anyway. I almost had it perfectly placed the first time inserting it. Reading the directions first put me at ease. Little things like you can pee with it in and not to use it for post natal bleeding. It was nice to read the small pamphlet for helpful tips, advice and how to take care of your menstrual cup. It felt funny at first and then I made myself move around more. I sat down on the sofa and I felt the cup go up more and I felt even more comfortable. One thing’s for sure, you can’t be afraid to get friendly with your “southern territory” so that you can make sure the cup is positioned like it should. Don’t be afraid to push the cup up higher. If you feel like something is stuck down below, it’s probably not in right. When it feels comfy, you’ll know. Some will feel it and others won’t. For me, I know it’s there and yes I feel it but it’s not an annoyance. I never felt uncomfortable to the point I need to adjust it. For those of you that work a lot, this cup is supposed to serve no leak protection for up to 12 hours and it’s true. I get up in the morning and unplug to shower and sanitize my cup. I pop it in and although it’s supposed to be leak free protection, there’s nothing wrong with putting on a panty liner for insurance. So that’s what I do. I go to work as normal and by the time I get home, I unplug, clean, sanitize and shower. I’m usually at my heaviest on day 2-3 and I go 5 days max when I’m on my cycle on average. I work at a daycare (for now....last day is in three days and then I’m going to a desk job!). Working with kids you’re up and down, constantly moving. I wore a panty liner and the Pixie Cup today and there was no leaking whatsoever and no discomfort of any kind. No smells. No blood on my underwear. No tampon in sight. No long Infinity pads the size of an eagle’s wing span. Being so big is so tough. I’ll have a heavy cycle and I’ll wear the Super absorbency tampon with a Heavy or Overnight absorbency Always Infinity pad at the same time. And having a big backside it just sucks up my underwear and then blood can easily got up the crack of my butt no matter what kind of menstrual armor I put on and I have to go to the bathroom just to wipe myself up. Granted, I wear black pants everyday, but blood can smell and no one is gonna tell me I smell but they might if I’m not around. Or I go to the bathroom and sit down on the toilet and there’s blood on the back part of the toilet. So I wipe the blood away and Lysol the toilet until it’s dead and wipe it down like I’m getting paid for it. I hated how I would smell and I was changing my pads and tampons. This Pixie Cup has given me peace of mind and freedom. For once, something makes me feel good about myself. Maybe once I get this weight loss surgery next year I’ll be even more confident in my body and struggle less with inserting this Pixie Cup. We have a 9 year old and 2 year old, both girls. So maybe when that time of the month starts for them, it might be something for them to consider if they’re comfy with it and save some money and protect their bodies in the long run. It’s important that they make their own choices when it comes to what they wanna do with the feminine products they use. Since I’m now educated in the benefits of a menstrual cup, not just for saving money, but for better health practices too, it’s another option for our daughters to consider when that time comes for them. Another important thing I was worried about is this thing disappearing into my body and I never see it again. For those of you that have had a child, push like you’re pushing a baby out and you’ll see the end of the cup and remove it. For those of you who haven’t had a baby, push as if you’re trying to pee or like your trying to have a bowel movement. I always wondered that if I shove this thing up there, will it want me to retrieve it haha. Keep in mind I’m a very big woman so when I sit down, that Tsumani-like force of my butt pressing against any surface is going to move things North, South, East and West I ain’t lying. And I still was able to get it out. So yes, I’m impressed with this, told my mom about my experience and how much I liked it. She didn’t even know something like this existed even though it’s been out for a long time now. I explained to her how it’s used, the benefits, etc. She wish she had it when she started her cycle. As far as the cleansing wipes, they’re good and if you wanna go cheaper, you can always have a small bathroom clutch bag and store some unscented baby wipes in a zip lock or get a travel sized pack of wipes and store it inside of your bathroom clutch so that you can easily clean your cup in the bathroom if you’re out in public or at your place of business. In case you might drop your cup in the toilet, get a backup cup or have a backup pad or two just to keep yourself covered until you can properly sanitize it once you get home. I even used Vagisil to clean my Pixie Cup and very hot water. I’m cheap, I try to use what I have before spending a ton of money right away. Hope this review helped!

Definitely a large!
Was hoping I’d get the dark colour one but didn’t. I bought it as my large organi-cup is still too small for my heavy days. Getting used to it- had major leaks on first use but hopefully. Packaged well

Not working for me - but worth a try!
26/08/20 edit - They refunded me in full even when I didn't ask for it. This shows that they care about the product and customers, and read every comment. This product is definitely worth a try. Ordered this size as I've given birth before, but even with the correct application (the suction was on) I could not make this one sits comfortably in there. The material is quite hard as well, so when it's in I can feel the pressure against my bladder. Would have returned it if not for the COVID lockdown in my area prohibiting me to do so :(
