Well built/well thought out Garage Vac !
When i received the vacuum i knew by the weight of the box i already was going to like the heft of this machine. Then i opened the box,and everything neatly packed, i proceeded to open the contents, and found the following....Vac canister is made of a medium weight metal. not flimsy like a pop can, and not thick like a 55 gallon drum...just right. The paint finishing on this vac is very good as well. The logo is even asthetically appealing. I am a car guy,and wanted something more industrial looking while maintaining good looks...This unit suits the above quite well.Attachments: The hose is a standard ribbed material, approx 30' in length. Perfect for my main garage wash bay areas for my German car collection. The plastic attachments shine as they are constructed of a thicker grade injection molded plastic, sure to hold up to years and years of useage. I particularily liked the small bristle brush and floor attachment,as typically these come with plastic like stiff bristles found on your more traditional "cheap" big box retailer style units. The VacuMaids however, have a very soft, Ox bristle feel to them. My door panels, and leather are sure to appreciate this nice touch in material selection.Mounting is a breeze. Simply find a stud, and anchor in with the supplied bolts. They use rubber grommets on the mounting cradle which keeps the unit vibration free which keeps noise levels down....Nice job! It also has a supplied hose hook which keeps your hose neatly tucked away until next useage.Suction: Suction on this vac with such a long cord is fantsstic. I wasnt expecting such a nice draw from 30' of hose, but itperforms very well.Another item of interest for me, was the fact that the motore on this unit, although very powerful, is very, very quiet. I was expecting that of a normal shop vac which i feel the need for earplugs.... Not this unit. It has a turbine like noise. The fact that this units motor is enclosed unlike standard shop vacs is likely the main reason for the low decibles. In the end... If you are seeking a nicely equipped garage vac, quiet, powerful, good looking, and great performing, i feel this to be the best candidate in the $250 dollar and UNDER catagory w/o needing to spend more on a true commercial unit. I have had other inferior machines branded with the most popular names, but they lack features of this unit, and are built to last only a few years IMO.p.s. one last thing to mention...The bags this uses are very well made 2 ply hepa filtration bags. What does this mean to you? It will trap small particulates where standard shop vac like machines wont capture. So those with allergies, or not liking dust mites, will be a bit more on the safe side. Enjoy this vacuum! Its worth it.

Nice High-Quality Wall Vac
I had a couple of small car vacs but they lacked proper suction and were cluttering up the garage. I wanted a well made and powerful wall mounted vac that i could use to clean out our vehicles. It’s a quality product. Good gasket on top to ensure suction, large bag inside, and a powerful motor. It has all the attachments you’d need for routine cleaning. They include a mesh storage bag for unused attachments. I like that it doesn’t look cheap or fragile. I tried a bag less model from a different company and it didn’t have much suction. It also works as a blower, which is a helpful feature for me (I use this to blow out the garage instead of my leaf blower).Installation was surprisingly easy. You attach the mounting bracket to a wall near an outlet and then slide the unit in place. Took me less than 10 minutes. You’d probably want to mount on a stud, which shouldn’t be a problem since outlet boxes are almost always on the side of a stud. They include the mounting hardware, which include strong bolts for the mounting plate.Hose is nice and long, no problem getting to all parts of the vehicle.

I feel pretty silly reaching middle age without knowing that this style ...
I feel pretty silly reaching middle age without knowing that this style of vacuum exists, but it does and they work very well. Working very well so far but it's only been a few months. The things I like best are getting an overly-rolly thing off the floor, freeing up storage space. For this unit specifically, I'm very impressed with the quality of the hose; it's very well made. I got the unit with the 30-ft hose and so far it's proven adequate for my needs. The only slight downside is that if you stand near the unit, it's fairly loud with a real high pitch squeal which I think is probably the impeller. In practice it's not really a big deal since no one stands right next to a vacuum that has a 30-ft hose, but just be advised. Lastly, it does indeed appear that you get what you pay for with a shop vac. If you want a really good one it's going to cost you, but you won't be sorry.Update:Other reviewers have mentioned a smell. Yeah, can't say they're wrong. Every time I start it, there's a smell a bit like an electrical burning smell, but then it goes away. For that reason, I don't *think* it's a motor problem, but who knows. Also, what I said about the noise continues - it's effing unpleasant to be next to it when it's running. There's the expected motor and air noise, but also a high-pitched squeal that makes it seem even louder. Obviously it's not intended to be run for hours on end, but for that reason, I don't advise using it to clear sawdust from tools which require a long running time. Lastly, still impressed by the hose. I've stepped on it by accident a few times and the ribs are strong enough that it doesn't crush.
