I bought this steamer for both horizontal and vertical steaming mainly of soft furnishings as opposed to clothing. It came well packaged and in a compact box which its useful to keep it in to store in my cupboard without taking up much space. I went for the black and turquoise colour which is lovely. It arrived promptly and the company have been keen to communicate that they wanted me to be happy with their product and what to do if there were any issues, which there weren't. The instructions on how to use were simple, clear and straightforward and the product easy to use. The product is exactly as advertised. Heat up time was quick. I tried it on a scatter cushion which had been delivered very creased. I tried using the product both horizontally and vertically and it got all the creases out quickly without leaving my cushion damp. The fabric was quite delicate so I was very happy with the results. I have only just received this so only used it once. But I can see it will have a myriad of uses. Not sure going forwards it the lead will be long enough for my purposes without hassle. I want to be able to use it to iron my double duvet once on the bed after washing and ironing to get out fold creases. (hotel/holiday chalet style). As I only have a plug socket on one side of the bed not sure it will fully reach the other side without resorting to using an extension cable. Only other thing is that the water tank is fairly small compared to others available so not sure if it will need refilling if doing a largeer item which means having to wait for it to cool down first before topping up causing interuption. However time will tell. If the water tank was bigger and the electric lead longer it perhaps wouldn't be as good or portable for travel uses making it less compact and heavier so its of course a balancing act for use at home or for travel. Overall a very good product, well thought out. Pleasing to the eye and affordable so I am very pleased that I chose this after reading other very favourable reviews.

***POSITIVES*** - Great purchase, useful for travel and good quality - Very lightweight and compact, easy to hold so no aching hands or arms. - Heats up quickly, no drips while using. - Water tank is easy to remove using the release button, softly clicks back into place and is easy to refill from a tap. Each tank only lasts for c.10mins, but this is compact for travel, so no issue. - You can steam vertically or flat, unlike a travel iron which requires a flat surface. - The knack to using a steamer of this size, is ensure the head is flat onto the fabric. I had previously used industrial steamers and held them at a slight angle. - It is quicker to iron some clothing, but effective travel irons are heavy and you need a flat surface. ***NEGATIVE....but would not prevent me recommending*** - Cord ideally needs to be longer. It measures 2m (if you can get the kinks out of it), so you need to be right next to a plug point to use it. ***First Use*** - I used it on a linen shirt and an evening dress with a chiffon overskirt, both had been stored rolled up. - I would not expect the linen shirt to look completely flat, as the fabric is garment washed linen and is expected to be a soft, casual finish not formal and pristine. - It performed well on both garments (see pics)

I actually really like using this! I rarely iron these days as I found our clothes fabrics generally looked ok if you hang them straight after drying. I mostly got this for sterilising fabrics, and killing any bacteria in clothes that have been worn once but are still clean and just need a refresh. However once I start steaming, I find it quite satisfying and I'm actually looking around for other things to steam until the water tank runs out - I never did that with the iron! I get about 10 mins steaming from each tank. Yes it's still better to get the iron out for bigger things like tablecloths and sewing projects, but for clothing this is perfect. It's very quick to just lay a creased top on the bed, top up the steamer tank, plug in and start steaming straight in the bedroom. The alternative - go downstairs, get out the ironing board and iron, plug in, iron the top then put everything away - takes so much longer. As we know, if something is easy to do, it's much more likely to be done... This steamer comes with a travel pouch and easily fitted in my bag for a UK week's holiday to refresh / remove creases from my family's outfits. Helpfully it also comes with a clip on brush (which I haven't tried yet), an over-door hanger hook and a mini folding clothes hanger - although I found the clothes hanger was a little small for some of my tops, depending on the necklines, and they'd slip off. Better for t-shirts, but I thought it was a thoughtful touch if I was somewhere without a hanger at all. The key feature that meant I chose this item instead of alternatives was the fact it can be used either vertically (curtains / clothes on hangers) or horizontally (laying fabrics out on the bed) - I saw so many clothes steamers that can only be used vertically. I find some items are easier to do when laid flat on the bed, you can keep tweaking the hems straight etc whilst steaming. This is also a better option if your door / hanging area is some distance from your plug socket - the cable is just under 2m long. I should say that I had absolutely no problems with this until I came to de-scale it. The vinegar mixture dissolved the limscale as expected, there was some mild cosmetic staining left on the steamer plate but this didn't transfer to any fabrics (I tested this thoroughly on an old white towel) and the unit was steaming as new. However I found the steam then smelled of vinegar. I contacted the seller and they responded very quickly with advice and suggestions. It's so nice to deal with a seller who doesn't ignore you as soon as they have your money. They were very keen to ensure I was fully satisfied with their product, and I'm now happily steaming again without any issues. (Please note the manual specifies that to remove limescale, fill the water tank with 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 distilled water. Do not use a stronger solution!) I originally bought this on a lightning deal, but have since bought my mum one of these at the normal price, and would have no hesitation in recommending this clothes steamer or this seller to anyone :-)

I am very, very impressed with this portable garment steamer, it is small and surprisingly heavy for its size and very sturdy. I love the box it came in and the accessories that included a garment brush to clip on if needed, a portable door hook and a foldable clothes hanger which is so compact when folded, it is unbelievable! There is also a soft plush velvet bag to store the steamer and above accessories in when travelling. It produces lots of steam and is great at smoothing out very wrinkly shirts . Lighter weight fabrics are a breeze to steam. I also love the fact that it can be used to steam garments either vertically or horizontally. For this reason, it is also ideal for crafters for blocking knitwear and crochet or other small craft items that need steaming. A good all-rounder!

I'd been looking for a little hand-held steamer for some time, and I really like this one. It's very easy to use, it gets rid of really stubborn creases (I don't iron anything until the last minute, and then only if I really really HAVE to iron it). It heats up quickly, and doesn't leave the clothes too damp. Like any other steamer this size, it doesn't do many garments on one filling, but if you want to iron a lot of things you'd just get your big iron and ironing board out wouldn't you? The downsides are - it retains heat for a fair amount of time after you finish using it, the cord could do with being longer, and you have to be very careful putting it down as it doesn't balance very well if you're just being casual about it. But the plus points outweigh the negative ones, and it also comes with a little bag for storage so I can just hang it on a door handle and it doesn't take up any cupboard space. I recommend this product, and I'm really pleased with it.

The actual quality of the steamer is pretty good, quite powerful and almost as good as an iron. But there are still lots of issues here. Firstly, it still spits hot water. Not as bad as other steamers I’ve used but it’s not spit-free as advertised. Also it’s a terrible design flaw that it starts to heat up as soon as you plug it in, even if the switch is turned to off! Why have the on/off switch at all? Furthermore the cable is really short. AND they give you so much extra stuff in the box - I think this is to give it a more lux appeal but seriously with the travel bag and the hanger and everything else! So bad for the environment to add all this under need stuff!

This is a great little product and perfect for that odd bit of clothing that doesn’t warrant the ironing board, iron etc being hurled out from the cupboard. The reason it has 4 stars is because there are some things that could be improved to help make it even better. It needs to be easier to hold - it’s a very thick device to hold because the water chamber is situated here Along with a lot of the internal workings. A different shape or handle that can allow a hand to grip the device better would be nice. It’s very bulky - if you are travelling light this is a rather bulky and cumbersome product to have to take in your already restricted luggage space, it’s not particularly heavy but the plug and main head of the product carry the most weight which will effect your weight allowance for luggage. The cable is too short - the cable could do with being at least another metre longer, as most plugs are fairly low on a wall the cable does not reach the top of clothes as easily as it could. It is Easy to use - it takes about 20-30 secs for the device to start up and is efficient in getting to work. It does as you’d expect and removes creases and folds in clothing. Even picking up loose hairs or firbres with the brush head should you need it. Despite the areas to improve, if it is to be used as a quick and easy solution to decreasing a single or few shirts for instance it is perfect for this. If you are travelling maybe look into buying a bag if you want to take it with you.

Our trusted travel iron broke and we needed a new one one for a 6 weeks trip to Chile. We travel every 8 weeks with a mix of short and long haul trips and need a lightweight iron that actually works. Over the years we have tried various new versions especially steamers but never were happy and tended to back to our old small but slightly heavy trusted iron. I am so glad we got this one for our trip. So light but actually works. It heats up quick and then produces steam continuously. No dripping. Can iron vertical and horizontally. Yes the water canister is small so can only do a few items each time but this works as we only iron what we need at the time. Easy to fill and empty when moving on. Very happy. Some people say didn’t work on 110v but worked for us.

I never write reviews but i was really upset upon my first usage-the steamer does not iron even the thinnest of fabric! I tried to make it work or at least get the minimum results but i couldn’t- had the other reviews been honest, i would have added a little more money and bought philips or any brand
