This pedal is made with a good solid body. The distortion is very versatile. The sound quality is great when matched up with an EQ or by itself. I use it everyday in my studio on my pedal board. That says something, because there’s a lot of pedals that don’t make it on there and are collecting dust. Not this one!

It's 100% true, this pedal sounds very different than the BOSS SD-1. Not until I purchased this pedal did I actually get the Master of Puppets tone. I have used the BOSS SD-1 and it's a great pedal, but this Tube Screamer just sounds different. I'm guessing it has to do with symmetrical vs. asymmetrical clipping. This is symmetrical while the BOSS SD-1 is asymmetrical. Remove D5 and run a direct wire in it's place on the BOSS SD-1 and you'll have symmetrical clipping just like this pedal. I've heard people say they can't tell the difference between BOSS SD-1 & This Tube Screamer. Maybe they're tone deaf, I can clearly hear the Metallica tone in this pedal vs the BOSS. It's almost as if instead of adding distortion to the guitar, it just ads this great cutting edge to the original tone. You want that Zakk Wylde sound use BOSS, you want early Metallica, use this Tube Screamer. The sound difference is really obvious. Just don't stress yourself over which one to buy, they both shred. Hope this helps somebody.

I collect Maxon and Ibanez overdrives. I purchased this one for the collection and as soon as I engaged it I could see it is a special pedal. It is not shrill or mid-ruined like some TS808s. It has a buttery, creamy tone. It can get filthy if you like. It does not seem to have the same unlimited clean boost like the Maxon OD820 but it has enough. .

Amazing pedal

After much convincing from friends of mine who have owned or currently own the Ibanez TS9 tube screamer, I had to bite the bullet and get one myself! Let me tell you, I am in love with it! It gives me more of a boost in my tone and it goes great with my Digitech RP255, my ISP Decimator II Noise Reduction Pedal and my Digitech DropTune Pedal! The Ibanez TS9 tube screamer is heaven sent!

Brilliant pedal, sounds exactly as I thought it would, and more. Always dreamt of getting an original Screamer, none of the copy crap, and it delivers as expected.

This pedal brings your natural finger tone out so much I'm almost depressed that I didn't get it sooner in my guitar journey. I had always heard good things but took the plunge on a whim. Best whim ever. The pedal gives brilliant saturation and fulfills the guitar's potential without sacrificing its tone. Surely anyone who has tried one will say the same thing. If I liked it any more I would probably get a giant back tattoo of the thing. Absolutely amazing pedal, get it right now.

Absolument top ! Avec ma Les Paul, le son est excellent, quel sustain ! Et les Larsen à la Slash sur mon Marshall, vraiment parfait!.... Bref j'ai été emballé dès les premières notes... Je recommande sans hésiter.

Hatte Anfangs eine lange Lieferzeit erwartet, wurde aber positiv überrascht. Obwohl das Gerät aus Japan kam, war es innerhalb 8 Tagen verfügbar, ich hatte mich auf deutlich längere Zeiten eingestellt . Sogar eine 9V Batterie wurde mitgeliefert. Ausgepackt, angeschlossen und den super Sound genossen. Solide Qualität, leichter Batteriewechsel möglich . 3 Regler für Volumen, Gain und Tone reichen vollkommen aus, keine zig Knöpfe zum rumfummeln. Das Gerät liegt dank seines Gewichts (das Gehäuse schein aus Guss zu sein) stabil am Boden und wirkt grundsolide. Jederzeit zu empfehlen

Llevo 4 años con él y no me ha fallado nunca, el sonido es justo el que necesitaba/buscaba para mi Gibson con pastillas 57' Zebra en un Fender Hot Rod Deuxe III. Probado en casa, en ensayos y en directos, sin problemas ni ruidos. Simplemente PERFECTO.
