Use plugged into power, at half volume, with line in from computers.
Use the mixer plugged into power. Set the volume to half. Plug in your computers. I have known good cables and speakers, and my unit is transparent. Love it. Will keep and use 12 hours per day for the foreseeable future.UPDATE: It seems some of the inputs on my unit are crossed. To solve this for yourself, you'll need to pull up a video testing left and right channel and play it individually through each input, then mark the ones which are crossed. If that sounds like too much of a hassle, and time is more important than money, buy something more expensive.UPDATE 2: Getting less and less impressed with the product as I have owned it for longer. I think my honeymoon phase was finally getting two computers to work with the same set of speakers, no questions asked. That's still nice, but I've had phantom noises occasionally, loud enough to be distracting, and have found myself falling back to moving my speaker cable more than once. I keep trying to like this mixer while I window-shop for higher-end boards and DACs.

Garbage
I got a DDJ controller and wanted to connect my laptop and also my DDJ controller to the same set of computer speakers. I used this mixer to do it.If both the DDJ controller and the laptop were plugged in there would be a horrible interference sound. If only one was plugged in everything was fine. The speaker itself allows for two devices to plug in and I can use it that way, but it won't expand further. This was garbage and I threw it away.

Well built, but the concept is a little odd
This is a sturdy well-constructed mini-mixer. The knobs have a quality feel to them, and the in/out jacks on the back seem to also be precise with a high quality feel and look. The unit has an interesting way of not boosting or cutting the signal by much, making it fairly transparent. My only negative is in the design. The knobs should have been on top. I use this on stage so that my sampler, synth, and vocal effects can all combine into one output. However, this is not a great idea, because this is mixer does have power. So when I use my TC Helicon Duplicator pedal, the hot output of the TC needs a passive attenuator. Instead, what ends up happening is the vocal volume is at the lowest setting, the beat volume at its highest setting, and my synths and noise boxes are the best matched regarding input/output signal strength. In addition, due to my lack of adding a passive attenuator, my vocals maintain a lightly distorted quality. In short, it’s not a great idea to send your vocals to the PA through the same wire as other devices, but it works for me as an experimental type of musician. That said, the ideal usage for this mixer would be to better control a set of compact synths or pocket size gadgets, and I think the mic-in would work best for something like a vocoder, unless you integrate an attenuator to take some heat off the mic volume and sensitivity. This is a high quality product end-to-end and I am very impressed by the brand now, this particular unit just has some flaws in its basic concept.

A good fit for our needs
It was a quick and cost-effective solution to mix two separate audio outputs for streaming our Church's services. Does a fine job. however, I do wish it had markings on the volume controls indicating up and down, but that very minor and is the only issue we have found.

Just what I needed
I needed something to mix my computer, laptop and iphone (all headphone outputs) to a set of Bose Roommates (also with a headphone jack). I had some 1/8"-t0-RCA cables lying around, so I was all set. I would have preferred that it had 1/8" jacks instead of RCA, but I managed. I wouldn't recommend cranking the volume too much, it's more of a volume leveler or reducer. So, crank up your source (within reason), and dial it down with the mixer. When I did this, there was no perceptible noise in the audio. I'm very happy with the mixer!

Perfect solution for 2 Computers connected to one set of Speakers
It came with the wrong power adapter and took some time sorting it out on my end.The mixer requires a power adapter that outputs 9v DC 300mA with a Positive center pole. The output of the one included is 15v DC 500mA with a Negative center pole. With the polarity wrong, it didn't power On and possibly ruin the mixer.I got the correct power adapter for it and it worked. No static noise and great volume. Perfect device if it comes with the correct adapter.

Not really great.
So this mixer adds static to the outline. Channel 4 adds a lot of static, and I am getting crossfeed from something on int, but that last one might be a cable being to close to the power line(I am trying to track this down more). This is after 6 months of use, but all the issues where there from the start except for the last.
