Tube screamer with great 3 band EQ = an amazing guitar players tool.
Great pedal. Very nice tone. Sounds like a tube screamer but with the 3 band EQ you can roll off the mid to avoid the sqwonk (unruly mids). Turn up the base for extra thump. Add some presence with a little more treble. The options go on and on. Please know that this is not the highest gain pedal in the world. Like Seymore Duncan says it's an overdrive pedal, albeit a really useful one it is not in my experience going give you anything resembling a full out distortion when put in front of a clean channel. BUT what it does do is play nice with other overdrive and distortion boxes. I ran it after my exotic sl drive distortion and used the 805 EQ to change its tone to very nice results. But happen to prefer running it before the sl drive for a nice shift presence and boost. I do this by running the 805 set up to give just but of sparkle and a small volume boost over my base volume the mid EQ is a little after 10 o'clock base around 3 o'clock treble at 1 ish. Drive between 8-9 o'clock volume between noon and 1. On its own it works it's great I mean really nice sounding going through my VHT special 6 and makes a killer duo either sl drive. I hear this pedal is awesome for taking a high gain amp over the top while being able to focus the tone by EQing out the flub or shrillness. I love the pedal. Though its not cheap you do get your money's worth.

Sounds great with a clean tone on your amp
Sounds great with a clean tone on your amp, gives you a real straight ahead rock guitar sound similar to AC/DC. I haven't been able to get a good sound with it yet with my amp on a dirty channel. I'm using a Jet City 22 amp.

Amazing tone
Did a lot of research and listed carefully to several TubeScreamers before going for this one. The active EQ was a hook and the fact that is built with pretty much the same circuitry as the TS. The tone coming out of this box is simply amazing. The range of both level and drive knobs is excellent and gives you a lot of versatility. Very quiet unless at full drive/level and on boost channel. A must have.

Awesome drive pedal
This is a Tubescreamer based pedal and I have owned a lot of those. The 3 band eq sets this above and beyond the rest. Sometimes with TS's there is too much midrange or not enough bass and people spend tons of money to modify them to change those issues. Seymour Duncan gives you that option. It works great for tightening up a drive channel for metal. It's great for adding a little grit to a clean channel, and is awesome as a stand alone drive. It's very responsive and dynamic.

I compared this to a Boss SD-1 and to be honest I like the Boss over the Duncan tone-wise
I've done a bit of research about the 805 before buying it, but after using alone and with other various effect and dynamic pedals, I can't say that I fell head over heels for it, even though yes it CAN give you what you want sometimes, it doesn't mean that it WILL ALWAYS give you what you're looking for even after screwed around with it. I compared this to a Boss SD-1 and to be honest I like the Boss over the Duncan tone-wise. Another thing that is a bit of a factor for me at least is the weight and metal used to make it, it's very light and thin feeling, and I know weight is everything, the heavier the pedal the less you get, but honestly I feel if I dropped it by accident that it would easily crack or break, though I won't test that theory, I know we've all had at least one close call or unfortunate mishap with our gear. In all, ok pedal, ok tone, but haven't given up hope on duncan pedals because I do want to try out their vise grip compressor and vapor trail very much.

An Extremely Versitile TubeScreamer
I can't understand why this pedal isn't more popular. It has a great smooth overdrive sound, like you would get with the TS9 for example, but the ability to tweak the EQ is what makes this pedal great. Your basic TS9 or 808, etc. is fine, but they can be very mid-heavy. This pedal can boost or lower bass, mids, or treble, and sounds clear and articulate, more articulate than my modded TS9, no matter how I adjust it. Of course, you can never know how a pedal works for you until you use it in a live situation with your guitar, your playing technique, and amp. I have used this in live settings and I think this is a good, versatile pedal. By the way, an SD-1 can't compare, although, for any one user, an SD-1 might work better for their rig. The 805 is built well with a solid construction and has an easy access flip door, that is attached so you don't lose it, for the battery. Again, what makes this pedal so much better than any other tubescreamer is its eq flexibility.

My first TS style pedal!
I play different styles, and needed a great drive/boost pedal. This can do many things : it can give you a mild overdriven sound, all the way to a solid crunch. It also works well with high-gain amps as a boost. The best thing has to be the 3 band EQ. I can carve out the frequencies I don't want in the signal before it gets to the amp, which is an excellent feature. This pedal is gunna be a permanent fixture on my board. Glad I went with this, love the color a lot!

Most versatile asset on my pedalboard!
Well, the YouTube videos say it all. It's your 808 tube screamer on steroids. Tha gain range is definitely expanded, and the 3 band EQ gives you a lot of control over your tone.I'm currently using it on a Marshall SL-5 and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe to get those Albert King/Stevie Ray Vaughan/John Mayer tones. And if I want to go from Hard Rock trough Metal, I just have to use in front of the dirty channel on my Marshall... Just put all the volume in and half the gain and you got your badass metal tone!

Fantastico!
È l’overdrive più bello di sempre. Collegato ad una chitarra che monta pickup Seymour Duncan, poi, rende ancora meglio. Super contenta dell’acquisto!

First Pedal in 40 years to provide THAT Tone !
I could go though the equipment I've had as a pro musician and recording artist with great musicians on many of my albums - wish I'd had this 805 in my set up both live and recording What a tone honestly ! I now put this with my Bad Cat and I just play my Strat to listen to that tone !
