The description says sweat connection but the model number and picture shows 3/3 mip thread. which is it?

Mine was as in the picture, threaded MIP. The sweat one is a different product number.

Will this work at the well pump? Hammers every time it shuts off.

Works any where there is a hammer. Sizing is the issue. You may need a bigger unit for the main pump line or multiple units.You may also want to consider a non-slamming soft shut check valveon the down stream side of the pump.

If you need one for garden hose thread . Look for washing machine hammer arrestor since washers use the game garden hose thread

The mini water arrestors worked for about a year +. Will this size work for washing machine? And can I simply replace the mini with this size?

I would think that this arresor would work fine but it might not be as simple to install as the mini arrestor The mini arrestor has a tee built into it that just attaches to the faucet. If you can remove the faucet from the water line and install a brass tee in it's place then screw the faucet and the 653 arrestor into the tee I would think that the 653 arrestor would work good. It might even be able to absorb water hammer that is generated from other sources.
