Hello there! I am fairly new to photography and just recently purchased my first “real” camera (Not a smartphone and over $100 😂). This review Is for the 49mm Macro/Super Macro Lens, mounted and used on a Canon EOS R50 with RF S18-45mm f4.5-6.3 IS STM. I decided to purchase this product while searching for various lenses for my camera. Since I am new to the photography game, I wanted to try out and add various lenses to my kit. Being that the price point for this lens was far lower than other lenses and seemed to have decent reviews, I figured I would give it a try. The product arrived quickly with Prime and I was extremely excited to test it out. It was packaged nicely and professionally; (outer product box, inner, more protective inner box, leather type (not sure if actual leather) pouch with draw strings, and lastly a disposable plastic bag. Unfortunately, that is when I experienced my issue. The lens would not fit onto my preexisting 49mm thread, 18-45mm lens. Being as this is my first lens purchase for the camera, I was both concerned and slightly discouraged. I looked at my order history and realized this product did not state anything regarding the compatibility with the EOS R series cameras, but rather the EOS M series. I researched online thoroughly and concluded that regardless of if my camera is an R or M series or if the lens is an EF or RF, 49mm should still should be compatible. I then looked through my recent orders and Amazon and found the product description, verified I ordered the correct lens thread size (49mm) in which case I did. From there I grabbed a ruler and took a measurement of the thread size of the mounting portion of the lens, I found the size to be 55mm rather than 49mm. Although I ordered the 49mm, I received the 55mm, even in a 49mm box. I started the replacement process on Amazon, chose to "Replace with the same item" in hopes that it was just a discrepancy when the product was boxed. I received the new lens a few days later and could immediately see the difference in the mounting thread sizes. It mounted right up to my existing 49mm lens with no issues. As for using the lens, it does have a bit of weight to it, I'm sure probably not as much as other lenses, which I have not had the opportunity to test, so I cannot definitively say it is heavy or light in comparison. It definitely does seem to give a wider field of view which will be great for various types of photos. Both auto and manual focus still seem to work without any issues. Clear view, no issues so far with ISO or high shutter speeds. However, there are two issues I have noticed so far with the lens; 1: When utilizing the cameras integrated flash, the size and length of the lens definitely casts a shadow at the bottom of the shots. An external flash would probably correct this depending on how high the flash sits. 2: The corners of the lens show on the image unless I zoom to right around 22mm. Although this could be a deal breaker for some, I actually like the effect it gives the image. This also will most likely be dependent on the lens type/focal length used. One more thing to note although it hasn't seemed to be negative for my shooting so far, the less zoom I have, the more fisheye the image seems. Pros: *Great packaging *Well built *Very sturdy *Enhanced field of view *No issues with focusing *No issues with ISO *No issues with high shutter speeds Cons: *Lens corners visible in images unless zoomed to approximately 22mm

I’ve only played around with this, haven’t had a chance to really go out and take a bunch of pics with it, so please excuse the random pictures of bathtubs, house plants, ect. Seems to work really well and be well made for how inexpensive it was. Obviously not high end quality... and you do lose focus around the edges but I’m okay with that. Any pics I’d be taking with these would be of one or two objects at most so the blurred edges could be background, not planning on doing while family portraits with it. The wide angle gives quite a bit or extra space to the edges, able to capture more in a photo than without. Photos I’m uploading are of without either lens, with the wide angle lens, and with the marco for a comparison of all. Only issue I have is that there was a little nick in the thread of one side that I think is the cause of this rather loud sound when unscrewing the lens. I’ll try and upload the video. However aside from the annoying sound, it doesn’t seem to effect it from attaching properly. The box was also a little dented when it arrived and wasn’t sealed so it made me feel like it might have been a return or something... but I couldn’t see any issues other than the one nick I previously mentioned.

So what do you get for 28 bucks? I am a pro and thought i would give this a try before i go and drop 5 large on a real wide angle lens. The Good: Pretty nice glass for the money, in the pic with the wire rim of my readers the glass is pretty clear, better than i expected for the money for the macro only part. Given you are putting another layer of glass between your subject and the sensor i could see using this now and again. It did mess with the AF a little so I switched to MF and simply moved the camera closer till i got the focus point I wanted. Doesn't take a lot of light away. As for the wide angle, well it's ok. If I zoom up a little to get rid of the vignetting it seems to have mostly a usable area but...... Now for the Bad: The focus drops off severely around the outer edges and there is some color aberrations to contend with along the edges as well. My pics have un-cropped/uncorrected, cropped/uncorrected, useable cropped/uncorrected, un-cropped/corrected at the 18-55 and finally un-cropped/corrected using the canon 8mm correction in adobe PS CS6. You can judge for yourself. As a pro I will toss this in the bag and I could see using it in an unrestrained crop situation but it's usefulness is limited at 16:9 crop. Like I said, for 28 bucks what the hell, the macro works pretty well, the glass is great for the money and it could come in handy in some situations.

Pretty neat. I purchased this to replace a cheaper wide angle adaptor that I wasn't super impressed with. I'm pleased with the purchase but wanted to add one caveat. The quality and effect of the adaptor are an improvement over the other adaptor. However, the manufacturer claims that auto focus won't be affected when this adaptor is installed. I found this not to be the case when I attached the adaptor to a 18-55mm lens on a Rebel t7. The image is badly out of focus when my camera indicates otherwise. So, I use the lens (with adaptor) in manual focus mode only. I'm still pleased enough with the results that I'm giving this 5 stars, but I thought it worth mentioning.

Purchased this item believing it would reduce effective focal length by .43x, turning a 50mm lens into something like 21.5mm (nominal focal lengths are often not precise and change with focus breathing so there really isn't enough precision there to justify the use of decimals, but I digress) Upon using it I noticed it has considerably less effect than a .42x fisheye adapter acquired some time in the early 2000's, so I did a few tests. Comparing the field of view of a 50mm lens equipped with this adapter to a 28mm lens, I found the 28mm lens was actually wider. That should not be so! I then compared 50mm + adapter setup to a 35mm lens, and the field of view just about perfectly matched. To convert 50mm to 35mm you need a .7x adapter, which is what this falsely advertised product is. Multiplying by .7 can also be approximated by dividing by 1.43, which is where I think they might've screwed up and gotten the 0.43 from-- they could have accidentally subtracted 1 from 1.43 instead of dividing 1 by 1.43 to convert the divisor to a multiplication factor. Or they could be lying outright and guessing nobody would catch that big an error, but this is the difference between being *barely* wide angle at 35mm and ultrawide at around 22mm and has a *huge* impact on the appearance of photos and video. All this said, the quality of this product seems fairly decent. It threads in smoothly, is built of solid metal, and has very little chromatic aberration. I even tested it on a telephoto zoom lens for fun, just to see if I could detect any significant chromatic problems that would be hard to spot on a normal length lens, but none could be seen before the image became too soft to be usable-- and in spite of claims people make about products like this being "zoom through" for camcorder use, it's not advisable to use anything like this for anything on either side of a "normal" focal length. Too wide and you'll see the edges creep into the frame (about 35mm full frame equivalent is where you can see black spots in the corners, and it gets worse from there) and any longer than 50mm equivalent you start to defeat the purpose of a wide angle adapter. (So any of the reviews mentioning black corners are already using a wider angle than can be achieved by putting this on a normal focal length lens-- not its intended use, and not a flaw with the product.) However, in spite of being actually fairly usable, I cannot recommend purchasing any product that misrepresents itself. Anything of this nature that advertises itself as "HD," "digital," or "professional," tries to mimic the appearance of Canon or Nikon optics by including a red or gold colored ring, or mentions autofocus is throwing up some HUGE red flags that it's intentionally deceptive. I had hoped it'd still work for my purposes, but it definitely will not.

Camera - Nikon D3400 Pro - This now helps in taking those wide angle n macro photo of you are fan of it. This is an add on to your existing 18-55 lens. Con - threads are bit delicate i feel n can't be used with a hood (if any one know please let me know) Other wise is a great addition to my camera. Go for it.

Both the macro portion and the wide angle portion works as advertised The macro portion can be partnered with extension tubes to get really close focussing distance.

Obviamente es un lente económico, pero su relación costo/beneficio es muy buena. Realmente da fotos bastante decentes tanto en gran angular como en macro, si haces las configuraciones adecuadas en tu cámara y con tu lente nativa; es cosa de buscarle tanto al zoom como a la apertura e incluso a los efectos. Estoy contenta con esta lente.
