Good use of a not great option
If you have an iPhone with multiple cameras you need a separate camera app to not drive you insane, but this has done everything I need it to. Picture quality depends greatly on your optic and how clean they are, but mounts well onto spotting scopes and binoculars

Works excellent even with pro max three lens iphone!!
I was afraid this would not work well with my iphone 13 pro max but since im on a budget I decided id get this based on the high ranking reviews and low cost, then return it if it didn’t work out. Well it worked out!! Much better than i expected. If you’re in the same situation with the same phone you’ll want to mount the eyepiece centered on the lower left lens, which is the “pro” lens. Then i suggest using an app specifically for astrophotography so you can make manual adjustments as necessary to the iso, exposure and focus. I suggest using the astrophotography tab within the “night sky” ios app. I was photographing through my 6mm eyepiece in no time. Super simple to change lenses while keeping the mount attached to the phone. Besides astrophotography this attachment makes for a great “screen” for your telescope for group viewing or to avoid back/neck strain from hunching over to peer into an eyepiece! I wasnt expecting it to work nearly this well!!! I am delighted with this mount!! Looking forward to spending many long nights with this.

works decently, but can be a huge pain to setup in the dark
last night i used this adapter to take these two pics of saturn and jupiter, (screencapped from videos), but i will say that the only thing that made me able to do this, was the fact that there was a nice bright street light nearby for me to point my telescope at, so that i could get my phone camera perfectly lined up with the eyepiece lens, because otherwise there is no way to do it at all, because the darkness you see when pointing your phone's camera at the black plastic surrounding the lens, and pointing straight into the lens at nothing, look the same. this isn't necessarily a flaw of the product, just a flaw of the overall idea, and no, i can't think of a practical and reliable way to solve the problem aside from just pointing it at something bright and unmoving while you get it lined up. another problem, which isn't a problem with the product but is still something annoying to consider, is that smartphones have power and volume buttons on the side most of the time. if your phone is like mine, you can only line up the camera with the eyepiece by clamping the mount on your phone so that the volume buttons are being pressed down. it is possible to mount it lightly enough that they aren't being pressed, but it makes for a very tenuous mounting situation because your phone isn't being held very securely, and you're supposed to mount your phone in it without a case on your phone. overall it just seems like a recipe for a disaster waiting to happen. so yeah, do with this information what you will.

Built solid, however not user friendly.
I’m using w Celeston binoculars. Easy to attach, but very challenging to line up camera lens. Binoculars become cumbersome when attached. I had hoped to use binoculars like I normally do and attach for photo if I see an interesting bird — not easily done especially if on a hike. I have to commit to using w or without before my hike. It eliminates bird app access when attached. I’m only able to answer my phone via Apple watch. Disappointed, but not a horrible purchase. Use on my backyard porch. Arrived early, package well, and price was reasonable.

Good Quality with Good Price.
Firstly, I managed to get this at the $15 price so I didn’t expect a whole lot beyond simple functionality. But upon opening the package I found it had a bit of weight and sturdiness to it. I gotta say, it’s pretty solid. The grips on the phone and on whatever optics you’re using is firm without needing to be ridiculously torqued down. Once the two elements are positioned normal usage should not budge them from alignment. But there lies the one drawback; establishing good alignment takes a bit of effort. The knob to secure the phones position is not in the most convenient location but it works. I’ve already taken some test pics and so far I’m happy. Now we’ll just have to see if the quality lasts. I’ll update that later. Additionally, the phone clamp will open up to 3.75”, the eyepiece clamp opens to 1.75”. I believe that should fit most phones and standardized telescopes & binoculars.

Not Recommended
Tried this on SkyMaster binoculars and ran into three issues: 1. Adapter would not fit over eye cup unless I forced it. 2. Once I did force it on, phone mount would press various side buttons (iPhone 16 ProMax). 3). Could not line up camera lens rendering this useless. I also tried it with my wife’s Galaxy S25 Ultra and still did not work. I do not recommend this item.

Sturdy Metal Construction & Easy To Adjust Precisely
Ready to use out if the box. Well constructed. It's easy to use and has a very precise mechanism which allows the user to align the camera to the eyepiece. Can be used with binoculars, telescopes and microscopes. It would be better if it were constructed from a lighter weight metal. Make sure that the 1.77 in capacity for the diameter of your eyepiece is enough. My binoculars had a 1.5 inch eyepiece, however the rubber eyecups brought the diameter to just over the maximum capacity of the unit. If your eye pieces are 1.5 in and have rubber cups, then I recommend that you purchase the Celestron - NexYZ DX Kit - 3-Axis Universal Smartphone Adapter. I am awaiting delivery of one of these models today which allows for up to 2 inch eyepieces. I will continue to use my present unit for my microscope and my telescope.

It DOES work for centerline CAMERA. Just takes some critical thinking skills
All these reviews saying it doesn't work for centerline cameras probably shouldn't be attempting any sort of amateur astronomy, since you'll need to master the subtle art of knob turning to adjust your tripod, and screw in eyepieces. It's rough, but there are several adjustment knobs to ensure proper fit. You turn it, and tighten it, and WOAH! The impossible centerline camera is lined up. On the subject of button pushing, you've got the option to extend the arm to avoid buttons. First attempt I managed to set it up with my buttons on my OnePlus 7 covered, and, bear with me here I know it may seem insane, but you don't HAVE to cinch it to hulk grip strength. You can secure it even with power button covered without pushing it. There are three adjustments available to ensure centering. I know critical thinking skills are getting harder to come by these days, but HONESTLY. If it doesn't line up first try, you assess. See where it needs to be and then with simple logic figure out which of these three adjustments you'll need to make. Then unscrew, adjust, and tighten. Wait for it I'm about to blow some minds. I also included a picture of a Galaxy s8 secured into the holder centered and all. And you thought it couldn't be done Also whoever said it was cheap plastic was obviously feeling a bit salty over their failures facing off with the plethora of knobs. It's surprisingly heavy.

This Was Interesting
When I decided I would try my skills with a telescope, I soon learned I had zero skills. I watched many YouTube videos in regards to different setups that others were using. Of course they all had thousands of dollars in equipment that I couldn’t afford. I looked for the cheapest but most practice ideas for my budget. This piece was so easy to use. Not an easy setup at first, trying to adjust for perfect viewing but once it was set up, I was golden and on my way. Too cold outside for me to setup the telescope at the moment but I plan on being out there this spring, summer and fall to get as much photography as I can. Good luck to all who enjoy this area.
