Connector Type:Npt | Item Length String:1.30 Inches | Part Number:M2525-1WA The Control Devices ball-type check valve provides tight sealing, and can be used as a tank check valve for small compressors or as a component in pneumatic circuits. The valve body is made of brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. Brass can be connected to copper, brass, plastic, aluminum, and welded steel. Fluorocarbon O-rings provide higher temperature and chemical resistance. It has female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads on one end and male NPT threads on the other for connecting a male and a female threaded pipe. The NPT threads create a tighter seal than straight threads. The maximum pressure rating is 250 pounds per square inch (psi), and the maximum temperature is 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Check valves have two ports and restrict the flow of fluids and other loose materials through a pipe or passageway to one direction. Flow enters through one port and exits through the other, closing when flow reverses or stops. Two common types of check valves are ball cone valves and swing check valves. A ball cone valve utilizes a spring-loaded ball seated against a cone-shaped interior surface to stop the flow of fluid in a forward direction, and a swing check valve has a movable disc on a hinge to block reverse flow. Check valves are rated by their cracking pressure (the minimum upstream pressure required for the valve to operate), and they are used in various water, gas, air, and steam lines.Control Devices manufactures specialty valves, nozzles, and condensate traps. The company, founded in 1963 and headquartered in Fenton, MI, meets ASME standards.

Does what it says, connected 2 air compressors with two of these
I have two air compressors that operate at different pressures (130psi and 150psi) that I wanted the ability to run in parallel for increased CFM. I got these to prevent the higher pressure one from backfeeding into the lower pressure tank.I added shutoff valves to each and connected one compressor and left the other one open with nothing connected and no air leaked past when pressurized to 150psi so definitely does its job!9 CFM flow rate for each was just what I needed to pair a 1998 craftsman 8.6cfm@40psi compressor and my Central Pneumatic 7.5cfm@40psi. With these connected I can run my palm sander non-stop on two separate 120V circuits and have 60 gallons of capacity instead of needing to wire for 240V and get a 60 gallon

Didn’t last long...
This was exactly what I was looking for a compact in-line check valve. It worked fine for a few months and then it failed. It is installed downstream of a filter dryer and so I imagine it quit working because it is low quality. I gave it two Stars just because it didn’t work for more than a few months. Of course, it's so compact and inexpensive I might have to try another one and see if the first fail was a fluke or not.

Perfect for use on my remote aux air tank.
Just what I needed for a fill port on my 40 gallon auxiliary tank for my air compressor. I built an remote aux air tank out of an old gas water heater tank to use as a secondary remote tank for my 4hp air compressor. Fitted the tank with regulator, dryer, oilier, safety valve, tank gauge & regulator gauge, dump valve for water drainage, and needed to make a fill port. I was using a small manual valve which soon became a PITA having to remember to open and close it when filling. My old original tank on the compressor leaks, so wanted to be able to shut the aux tank off also so it wouldn't bleed back through the leaky original tank. So, I chose this check valve to replace the manual fill valve. Works very well, and was sufficiently fast enough to fill the 40 gal aux tank. Filled it from zero to 110 psi in about 5 minutes, so that is good enough for me. Seems to hold well for now. Seems to be well made.

Pefect for my buddy tank! For two months...
Well, it worked great for almost two months. Now it no longer holds pressure. Seal is still in place, but I can blow through it. What is the warranty? My air compressor is in the garage, but I have a workshop area in the house for working on bicycles. I ran an airline to the room, then hooked up a portable tank as a buddy reservoir. After going through the hassle of remembering to fill it periodically, I realized that a onw-way valve would be perfect. Searched various sites for such a device and this one looked like the best solution at the best price. It is a trifle noisy when filling, but works perfectly. Gives me warm fuzzies every time I walk past it.

This Valve will Fail
Used as a check valve for a 3/4 compressor, after about 6-8 mo's compressor kept tripping circuit breaker. Finally found the valve was bad, the plastic end you see in the picture was protruding out the opening about 1/4 inch or so somehow causing the check valve to not close, leaving the pressure in the line for the next time compressor started up, giving the pistons no where to go and blew the circuit breaker. im lucky it did not damage the compressor.

Seems well-made I’ve had no problems with it
I used it on a little 12 V compressor because it was much better quality than today’s disposable products The only thing wrong with the compressor was the check valve although I had to modify the compressor a little bit . everything seems to be working just fine

Works as intended
Used these to twin two air compressors together. Sealed perfectly, function fine. They do restrict the volume of air flow somewhat, but it was not a problem for me using mechanics impact gun, and air chisel. For the price, these can’t be beat.

It checks!
Needed this for an air compressor modification. I was a little worried about it taking the heat of the outlet side of the compressor but where I have it located its under 200F and holding up well. Oh, MIND THE ARROW!

Works good.
I used this to fix a small compressor that could not restart after initial tank fill. Works great. Came fast. 1/4 npt (small diameter) means this one is probably best for smaller compressors, but it's good quality and works great.
