Safety first
Great general purpose fire extinguisher. All of the parts to mount it are included. We mounted it in our barn to have on hand in case of an emergency.

Get more than you think you need.
I have 8 of these in my house, 4 dispersed at different locations upstairs and 4 at different locations in my basement. I never thought I would actually have to use them. Well this week we ended up having an electrical fire in a stove in our basement right before we went to bed. A wire must have shorted and started the fire because we havenāt used the stove in years. Anyway, using 4 of these fire extinguishers I was able to keep the fire contained enough until the fire department showed up and completely put it out. Without those 4 I used, our house would have burned to the ground. I reluctantly bought 8 of these (almost $600 worth!) and at the time thought I was probably wasting my money. Well, hindsight is 20/20, and this was the best purchase Iāve made this year. If I hadnāt had these extinguishers, weād be homeless right now. Spend the money, get more than you think you need. When you need one, there is no substitute.

Great fire extinguisher - Quality metal handle and mounting kit!
This is a big fire extinguisher! Itās perfect for the garage where sparks happen, and flammable liquids call home⦠With our new property purchase, we decided that we would be extra vigilant and spend money on proper fire safety gear. Fire extinguishers were a logical first step... We bought a variety of First Alert fire extinguishers based on 3rd party reviews, and brand name recognition. I was especially interested in buying a professional fire extinguisher that could be serviced, tagged, and refilled - like this one! The valving and handle on this fire extinguisher are all metal and feel tough. We used to use an Amerex fire extinguisher at my automotive shop back in the day, and this First Alert extinguisher feels equally as heavy duty but can be purchased at half the price of similar size Amerex fire extinguisher. In addition, I am especially happy with the hanging hardware - it is discrete and easy to install but has a strong hold onto the fire extinguisher!

A Generously Sized Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher
A Fire Extinguisher rated 4A:60B,C is a good sized dry chemical fire extinguisher for Class A: Ordinary combustible fires (wood, paper, plastic, etc.); Class B: Flammable liquid fires (oil, gas, petroleum, etc.); and Class C: Electrical fires. The 4A means that it is the equivalent of 5 gallons of water for Class A type fires, while the 60 means it will cover 60 square feet for Class B type fires. Pretty good, and a good price. Keeping in mind that one of this size will only last for just less than 20 seconds, so having multiple such extinguishers is a great idea. I now have 3 for a 2,300 square foot home.

Every home should have one
Protect your home, garage, other buildings with one of these. You may never need it as I thought, but one issue can set a fire that can consume everything you have. I know.

Everybody should have one in their home
This is a 10 lb fire extinguisher, meaning that there is 10 lb of dry chemical powder inside of it. And ABC type fire extinguisher, it is good for most types of fires except kitchen grease fires. It will put out a lot of burning paper, moderate amounts of burning wood or furniture, and can be used on gasoline or diesel fires. You will not get shocked if something electrical is on fire. Probably a 10 lb extinguisher is overkill for a house, but better safe than sorry. If this won't put the fire out, get out of the house and call the fire department!

Put a good commercial fire extinguisher in your home
Bought two of these for our place on the lakeā¦. Outside is metal but my wife almost caught the microwave on fire and we had no fire extinguisher out in the middle of nowhere. Commercial and refillable #10 will give you that extra retardant to put out the fire.
