Linda's books takes you step by step through the process of finding, planning, weaving and sewing. I took her Tartan workshop a year ago and it was just like being in class again except this time I do not need to take notes. Questions that have popped into my head over the last year thinking about tartans are answered in her text. You cant go wrong if you really want to weave a family heirloom.

A valuable resource for anyone wanting to weave tartans. I've been weaving tartans for over 30 years, and have tartan weaving books and monographs going back 50 years. None of them have the detailed information this book has to successfully weave a tartan. Linda Tilson Davis has done her research well, and shares tips and techniques she's learned over her many years of handweaving tartans.

I ordered this book as I have woven tartan scarves and wanted another book on tartans for my library.What a disappointment. The book was not done well in terms of the flimsy cover. I think it was self published. I just didn't like the feel of the matte cover. It is a 50 page soft cover book. The color photos and font size was excellent. This book would be useful for our guild library.

Whether you are a new weaver or an experienced weaver, if you are contemplating weaving a tartan this is the book for you. Linda takes you through all of the steps from identifying a tartan to finishing the project. This will be one of my go-to reference books on weaving tartans.

This is a book on weaving tartans, more specific than the other books I have. That is why I ordered it.
