Will this properly clone a windows 10 operating system??

Yes it does. it has several settings for copy including "System and Files" "All Partitions" and "whole HDD" . But we have successfully used it on windows 10 systems.

will this work with 18 TB drives?

The SATDUP11 has only been officially tested up to 4TB, but will also work with larger capacity drives such as 18TB. Brandon, StarTech.com Support

What are the back up formats that this device can image (e.g. e01, ex01, dwg, raw)?

The SATDUP11IMG can create an image from any file type, however, it uses a proprietary file system when creating an image drive, that can only be accessed via the SATDUP11IMG. I confirmed this with StarTech.com in the past. File systems only play a role, according to the manual, when you are copying "System and Files". can this work as 1:1 target also? Without using the image option.

Yes, it can act as a 1 to 1 duplicator, just to copy drive 1 directly onto drive 2, preferably the exact same size drive.

Very fast duplicator

This is the fastest SATA to SATA duplicator that I've used and it works very well. Although, in my opinion it loses a star because it has a hard time with some Windows 10 partitions and I haven't figured out what the commonality is yet. Frequently, it reports BAD MASTER HDD when I attempt to duplicate certain Windows 10 HDDs or SSDs. When I use my Carry On duplicator (probably half the speed of the Startech), it will work for those drives that the Startech has a problem with. Other than this small issue, I highly recommend this Startech for anyone needing to quickly duplicate a SATA drive.

The duplicator did copy my computer HD to a new ...

The duplicator did copy my computer HD to a new SSD without flaws. 500GB HD took only about 10 minutes. Also works on DVR HD which ca not be read (propitiatory). I created copy of all my shows (usually you loose them) before replacing the drive in DVR. The drawback is that the new drive has to be the same size or larger.

work as advertise, can't copy "file and content" mode from big hdd to small hdd thought. Ex: 8tb hdd has 4tb data can't copy to 6tb hdd.

Das Gerät ist genau das, was ich immer brauche um meine Daten durch Klonen von Festplatten zu sichern und um zu verhindern, dass Daten an Dritte nicht weiter gegeben werden, lösche ich die Platten mit DoD. Es funktioniert sehr gut und ich sehr zufrieden. Ich habe es ausprobiert und die Daten sind nach dem Löschen weg! Und die Sicherungen sind genau so gesichert wie das Original! Somit gibt es die vollen Punkte!

J'ai hésité entre plusieurs marques mais au final je ne suis pas déçu. le clonage se fait simplement, l'analyse d'un disque ou le copie d'une partition est très simple. Bon il faut juste manier un peu l'anglais.
