Definitely helps with Migraines
I bought this cap to help with migraines. A cold cloth or ice pack when you have a migraine can offer some relief but they either don't get cold enough or stay cold long enough. I found this item during a search for an alternative and after reading the reviews decided to give this a go. After using this cap with several migraines I have mostly wonderful things to say about it and only a few minor negatives. Pros: This thing gets cold and I mean freezing cold and it will stay cold for at least an hour. When I go to bed with a migraine, this thing is cold long enough for me to go to sleep. The cap is also a snug fit which is a great bonus because the tightness of the cap applies pressure which when combined with the cold is a winning combo! The cap is sectioned out in squares and inside each square is an ice cube which can be moved or pushed to the area that is hurting. The ice cubes are hard but not so hard that you can't lay down on them. I can use this cap sitting in a chair or sleeping in bed and I never have to fear it will fall off! Cons: The cap will probably freeze your eyeballs! No matter how you put the cap on, there is always an ice cube close to your eyes. If you headache is coming from your eyes then this is a good thing but if you are experiencing pain from another part of your head, then your eyes are going to hurt from the cold. Also, the square sections of the cap are too large (in my opinion). The cubes can only be moved around within their square and this means that when you put the cap on, that you might not be able to get a cube to actually sit on or be near your source of pain. I actually had this happen a few times. I think the squares should be smaller which would allow for more ice which in turn would provide for more coverage. I considered these Cons to be minor because I was able to come up with a solution for both cons. For the ice not getting to the right area, I found that I could turn my cap sideways or put it on halfway and that would put a square in the right place. The cap is designed to go on one way so it can be a little uncomfortable when you have to wear it off center but not as uncomfortable as a migraine. My favorite solution was for the eyeball freezing part. which required the use of a sleeping mask that I had bought on Amazon but didn't really like. The sleeping mask that I bought had claimed to have a Velcro band to help keep it secure at night but when I got it, there was no Velcro - it was just an elastic band which means it would slip off each and every night and I ended up throwing that sleeping mask in a drawer. That is until I got this cap. What I do is place the sleeping mask on my face and then place the cap over it. This had 3 positive side affects. The first was that the sleeping mask created a barrier between the cap and my eyes. I can still feel the coolness but its not so cold as to hurt my eyes anymore. The second was that the combination of the sleeping mask and the cap created a complete blackout from any and all light. As anyone who has ever suffered from a migraine knows - light is pain! And the third benefit is the cap is tighter on my head when I am wearing the sleeping mask which means it creates more pressure and pressure is relief where a migraine is concerned. I really love this item even with the cons I had mentioned. I might have felt differently if I hadn't been able to find a solution for them, but I did and I will never be without one of these. If they ever create an "Upgraded" version with smaller squares and maybe a built in eye cover that can be removed if needed, then I will be the first in line to purchase! I love this thing so much that I bought a second one and when I don't have a headache, they are both in the freezer and when a migraine hits me - I can rotate between the two and always have a cold cap handy if I need it. If you are a migraine sufferer and are looking for something to offer relief, then pull out your favorite sleeping mask and give this thing a try.

Best ice cap!
I’ve got 2 of these so I’ll always have a cold one ready. I’ve had chronic migraines since I was a child. These are by far the best ice head caps I’ve found. They stay cold for over an hour then I turn it inside out & get about another half hour of cold.

Nice addition for relief of my major headaches
I get pretty bad headaches, I call them migraines but I don’t know if I qualify since I’ve been getting these really bad headaches only in my 40s but they’re the kind that wear on you as the day goes on, to the point where you just have to go and lay down in a dark quiet room. Or I wake up with it and I’m hating life. Advil/Tylenol do not help at all. Which they normally do with the old type of headaches I used to get. Anyway I found that this product is very helpful and I recommend it if you suffer from headaches and looking for relief. I can’t take it straight out of the freezer and wear it like I’m supposed to over my eyes and face like they demonstrate in details above as it’s too intensely cold. I can maybe do it for about 10 seconds but it feels nice. I can leave it on my forehead and around my head and sometimes I bring it down around my neck and this primarily how I use it. I think it’s super cool that it comes with two. I thought I’d give one to my coworker when I bought it but I really like having two. 20 mins on/off and switch between the two is pretty awesome. I used to put 3 of the usual ice packs for sprains (you know the approx 4x9x0.5 flat ones) in a knee high sock and drape around neck or head. This is way better, lol. They really are intelligently or strategically placed. Never tried to sleep with it. The little ice packs come out of my freezer kinda hard but I can smush with my fingers before I put it on to loosen them up a bit. If your down for the count with headaches, I would highly recommend you try this out. Men buying for women, don’t give as bday or Xmas gift. We hate functional helpful presents like a vacuum, even though we need those kinds of things too. Give as an I love you gift. Way way more points, you know what I mean. And thank you to all the people that take time to give reviews for the stuff they buy. I don’t do it enough- pay it forward so to speak- but I always check them out for RL reviews before I buy stuff, hats off to you all. You guys that get stuff free for being regular reviewers, that’s so frigg’n cool, way to luck out, win win in my book.

Great idea in theory, terrible execution
My spouse and I both suffer from migraines so I bought the two pack. The idea of a head surrounding ice pack for headach pain is great. However the execution on this product leaves a lot to be desired. First the stitched channels are not filled with gel, but have several gel ice packs in them. The package says it is so you can "move them around for your comfort." In reality the result is spotty cold coverage and uneven lumps (they also aren't very easy to move around the channels). The ice packs have sharp edges that you can feel through the material and they are incredibly firm when frozen. It honestly feels like having a bunch of rocks around my head. Sizing is also an issue. I have a very small head circumference and yet the spandex material still felt very tight on my skull (not something you want when you're already in pain!) a better design would have been loose with a drawstring. Even with all of the above the one thing that truly renders it unusable as intended, is the fact that the material is too thin to protect against skin burns and needs to be wrapped in a cloth. In the 2 years we have had them they are rarely used as a first choice. We prefer the pliable gel pack my spouse got in physical therapy for his knee. If there's a bag of peas in the freezer we might use them over this product given that the bag of peas is less uncomfortable. 3 stars because is does stay cold for a good while, but honestly don't waste your money.

Love this!
Buy this. You won't regret it. This is my go to anytime I have a headache. It stretches and you can position the ice in different ways by turning or moving hat around. This in combination with BC powder fixes me up if I catch it early enough. If it is a bad migraine, wearing this in bed did still provide some comfort and relief. I will also wear it while working from home if it is a lesser headache... just did this yesterday. By the time the ice packs melted my headache was under control. Update: I bought a second one so that I can immediately put it on after my first one melts. I should be paid to sell this item since I have talked it up so much to my coworkers and friends. I really like it and wear it while I work (from home) and will wear it while I drive (starting to not care how stupid I look when I have a migraine). It is a bit less comfortable to wear while in bed but I also will do that. When the ice is completely frozen it is obviously hard and lumpy to lie on but it still beats not wearing it in my opinion. On bad weeks I may wear these daily. I wish I discovered these back when I was a kid crying in my bed with migraines--with my loving mom rubbing my head and telling me she wished she could take the pain for me. Thanks mom and thanks ice hat! You both help in your own way. ;-)

Love them
I have 3 of these. I suffer from severe sinus headaches and these really help. The reason I have 3 is because the ice packs in the cap don't last forever obviously. The cold and the tightness of the cap really help with the pressure in my head. In the summer the cap stays cold for at least an hour. In the winter much longer. However an hour isn't enough for my headache. Which is why I have 3. I can wear one until it's no longer cold, move to the next while the first one is refreezing, move to the 3rd and once it's no longer cold the 1st one is again. So im basically rotating for hours and hours of cold therapy. I have even slept in them several times. They don't stay cold all night, but again the tightness really helps. I love these caps.

This is truly the best!
I have suffered with very severe migraines since early childhood and I have never found a product that assists me like this lovely cap. I took a long time reading reviews on this, and similar products and I'm so glad I settled for this one. I leave it out of the freezer for about 10 mins and when I put it on it is so soothing and it enables me to sleep, which is very hard to do with migraines. Thankyou for your reviews that enabled me to choose the right one. I would recommend this product to anyone that suffers migraine pain.
