Why can't i turn the volume down on this ?.

You can't, if you have a Samsung device you need to download firmware that the company emails to you when you highlight the issue unfortunately, as a known problem you thought they would have resolved or actually highlighted this issue. I would suggest that if you have a Samsung device that you seek an alternative.
