This product was purchased to add to my supply of freeze-dried foods and meals for long-term storage and use as emergency rations during natural or man-made disasters. It is packaged well to provide long-term protection from degradation and when stored in sealed, airtight, water-proof, rodent-resistant metal or HDPE containers, should do exactly what I have planned. This Super Sweet Kernel Corn is simple to prepare in a cooking container of boiling water over a hiking stove, a gas camping stove, or even a campfire, and makes a very tasty, flavorful addition to any freeze-dried or canned meat entree, along with a pouch of instant mashed potatoes and an envelope of gravy mix, both also prepared with boiling water heated with any of the aforementioned cooking systems. Its carbohydrates help provide additional energy often needed to perform physical tasks during emergency conditions. If necessary, it can also be eaten raw straight from the package, but I definitely prefer eating it cooked, rather than uncooked. If the entire package isn't prepared for one meal, the top of the bag can be folded over and the remainder placed in a quart-size Zip-Lock Zipper freezer bag to save it for a future meal. This product is a little pricey when compared to the price of 8 ounces of canned sweet corn. But considering how long this product can be stored for future use and the length of time a can of sweet corn would last in storage before spoiling and needing to be replaced by a fresh can of sweet corn, this product's value over time makes it a better buy. And if the emergency conditions last for a long time and there are no fresh cans of sweet corn available to replace the spoiled can, this product is a must-have!

I love the flavor...the corn is super sweet...I love that it's non-GMO because it's very difficult to trust most cornthat is out there. I tasted it dry right out of the bag...and it was delicious...I then thought I'd try it rehydrated...so I put boiling water on it and let it sit for awhile...It rehydrates very well...But I think I'd add the kernels to otherfoods...soups, maybe in a vegetable casserole...I put the opened bag in the freezer to keep it dry and fresh...Great as a snack... better than popcorn which is impossible to find non-GMO anyway...Corn is high in lysine which is anti viral...so I enjoy eating corn and sometimes I actually crave it..Happy for this purchase...Only negative is that the package arrived with a lot of "dust" in the bag...perhaps where the corn had gotten mashed and powdered a bit in shipping...but still most of the kernels were whole and fine...I would buy this again...a bit on the pricy side for corn...but I still think it was worth it...I really like knowing I can always have corn available to use in soups.

When I first heard of freeze dried corn, I thought it was something for an emergency preparedness box and not worth much more than that. But I started to read the reviews and saw how many people said they were good and sweet. So I decided to give them a try. Amazon has a great return policy. But it turns out that they ARE super good. No salt no butter but still very yummy! One serving is 24 calories and the whole bag was just under 100 calories. So this is an ideal snack, especially if u have the munchies and are on a diet! Even if ur not on a diet, these are still wonderful!!! Give it a try, what have you got to lose?!?!

I throw a little corn in with my salads. It's AMAZING ON SALADS. PERFECT AMOUNT OF CRUNCH AND SWEET. Never cooked it but just ordered another bag. My friends and family love it too.

The small birds can't seem to get the seed out of the feeder. I was disappointed. I have sparrows and goldfinches in my yard.

It tastes sweet and makes a perfect salad topper which is exactly what I was looking for.

I didn't know freeze dried corn was a thing until I started getting a prepackaged southwest salad that came with them. I am obsessed with these sweet, little nubbins of fun texture! They add the perfect bit of crunch and interest to my salads.

Bought this freeze dried product to grind into corn powder to make Crack pie. I bought extra for future use assuming freeze dried would have an extended shelf life, however the packages I received both are stamped with an expiration date that is 90 days from the time that they arrived. Fresh corn can last longer in cold storage than this freeze dried product! Very disappointed.

I bought this because a salad mix that we had purchased had freeze-dried corn included and it was delicious. I always share with our sons' family, so a 5 lb. bag was the best size for us.... times two. It was a hit! The kids were tossing it in their salads, on sandwiches and just eating it as a snack. Delicious!

Pros:- Tastes good (like freeze dried corn)- Can be added to most savoury recipes- Natural, simple ingredientsCons:- Higher in sugar content- Expensive for a small packetOverall, I liked it but would not get again due to price.
