Nice mallets for the price.
Not too hard, not too soft. Just right for most applications. Very durable. Would buy again.

Seems durable.
Have used them for a month. Seem durable. I use them every day. Produces a very mellow tone.

These sticks were not only crafted by a master company of stick-crafters, but they were also designed by one, too! These sticks have great balance, they're not too light or heavy, hard or soft, and they're made specifically for vibraphone so they don't break the tone when you play at different dynamic levels like what happens with other sticks. Great buy!

What he needed for less
My son needed these for school (college). They were required. I found them here for less than any other place online. With such an extensive list of specific items required for his classes, it's always great to find exactly what is needed for less.

Its pretty good
These mallets are great. The wood rattan is very sturdy and slightly weighted. The mallets give a great sound, especially on the higher side. They can bring in the lower tones near the low F and high F but when played slightly strong they can sound slightly tinny. Playing soft gives a very good sound especially playing with 4 mallets since they don't give out higher tones as much. I think the main problem I had was playing very strongly since there isn't a lot of give in the tone more of a suppression of sound maybe from the yarn being so tightly wound around the cork or the insides. I recommend that you have mallets that also give a lot of sound even though the Burton Mallets are probably one of the best mallets out there for all-purpose playing. If you would like another option I would recommend the RS251's from innovative percussion that are also great but I think they lack the durability that the Burton mallets have (haven't played too much with them yet).
