Awesome print quality - low cost - very reliable
I was very skeptical on ordering a color laser for less than $100 , but I love this printer , we bought this one because color prints on our epson artisan where using way to much ink and the wife uses that one for high detail prints for art projects ect , to be honest in my opinion this printer has higher quality prints than the inkjet , besides the shading on black objects , have printed 215 full page color images so far and the low light on the black toner just came on , but ordered a full set of toners for $60 so we'll see how that goesUPDATE - 4/2/13 - Printer still running strong finally had to replace the first toner the light had been blinking low since page 215 it stopped printing on page 490 this is on the black toner that came with it it and all Ive used this printer for is printing photos / full page ads ( maybe 10 pages of just text ) all the other toners just started flashing low today and I'm at 560 pages if they are anything like the black toner its going to be flashing low for a few months before theyre empty. I purchased cheap toner from amazon and have used the black , it is identical print quality to the dell toner and gave me no issues at all with installation / useI also want to note I have had one print jam and that was when printing 60 pages and the paper ran out I quickly refilled it and one of the page's corner was dogeared and it jamed ,The only thing that would make this printer better is duplex printing and a network connection :) I know they make a model with both those features but 3x as much $$$

seems outdated
i had this printer for a couple years and it was great. i bought another one i liked it so much. one day both of them stopped working and never could get them working again. dell couldn't help, nor could the geek squad. they said a new update rendered the printer useless

We have had nothing but troubles with this printer from ...
We have had nothing but troubles with this printer from the start. First there was a problem with it being compatible with my computer's OS even though it was supposed to be supported. My husband found a work around for that issue that someone else had discovered online. Once we got it working we had problems with the red/magenta ink leaving a streak all along the right edge of the page. This finally cleared up after I cleaned the cartridge and the inside of the printer and then printed about 20 pages. Even then, the printer seems to think it is jammed all the time when it isn't. Then to top it off this morning the "error" light started blinking and I can't make the darn thing work no matter what I do. A search online reveals a lot of people with this problem and no real answers. (Something involving the printer thinking the paper is a different size worked for some but mine started its problem mid print job so that is no help here). It is only a year old and I am ready to replace it. So sorry we bought this and can't believe how much down the drain it has been...

Fine Enough but Nothing Amazing. Would be better with WiFi capability
Alright, it prints and does that relatively quietly and nicely compared with most noisy ink jet printers but, common, why wouldn't you add wireless printing as a default on every printer? It could be better, oh, and smaller too. Why do laser printes always need to be bulky anchors?

Great print quality. Fast first-out prints. Quiet. Inexpensive.
Pros: Low hardware cost. Great print quality. Fast printing, even in color, including the first page from "sleep". Toner cost is high for "Dell" branded cartridges. Off-brand cartridges can be found, about 1/2 the price of Dell brand. I've purchased both, haven't tried any yet.Notes: Utilities downloaded from Dell are quirky and not documented. There are a number of obscure settings with no way of determining what they mean. There is a checkbox to set the printer to use non-Dell brand toner, though I'm not sure what exactly it does.Cons: Once asleep, my printer goes "offline" and won't awaken with a print job, hence 4/5 stars. Pressing the "play" button lights the printer up and cycles the fuser, but it still won't print unless power cycled. Only USB, no ethernet or other connections. Not uncommon at this price point.

Great printer, replacement toner cost more than printer however
Great Color Laser Printer, I bought two!! Only caveat, Dell replacement toner will cost more than printer, but there are 3rd party replacement toner cartridges available on Amazon. I would complain if I could but was easy to setup, toner arleady installed, just plug USB cable (not included). Just tell windows to share printer and anyone in home network can print to it.

If you just are looking for a basic color laser printer, this will work well.
I purchased two of these printers after purchasing one and seeing how well it prints with my pc. It does not have a fax or scanner, but if you are looking for nice looking laser print jobs, this printer is for you.

Great printer for occasional color printing
This is a great printer for color printing. It is quick and efficient. The original Dell younger is over-priced so compare toner costs when choosing a printer.
