I needed several hinges for some shop cabinets and I couldn't justify the cost of my favorite name brand (starts with a "B") hinge. The only significant disadvantages I found were: 1) There is no vertical adjustment for the doors, as you would find in more expensive hinges. This is not surprising for a hinge produced at this price point. 2) Fit and finish, although excellent, is not at the same aesthetic level as the more expensive hinges. However, they are very well made and consistent in quality. 3) Adjustments, particularly lateral adjustment on the doors, seem loose and will probably move over time. Some releasable thread locker (e.g. blue "Loctite") would be appreciated on these screws. 3) No instructions! This last point sounds like a minor issue, but it isn't. Every European style hinge out there has a very specific optimum offset for the mounting holes on the cabinet side. Since no instructions are provided, this needs to be determined by trial and error with the front-to-back adjustment of the hinge set to its center point. Do not try to figure this out with your actual door - use a test piece! I found that the offset from the front of the cabinet to the two holes furthest back on the hinge plate should be 37 to 38 mm. Once you know this, it is easy to mark the vertical center of the slotted holes (with the hinges mounted on the door) on the inside of the cabinet. Set a combination square to mark the 38 mm depth, then the intersection of the slotted hole center marks with the 38 mm mark will indicate the drilling center. The hinge cups use a 1-3/8" Forstner bit. Positioning of the the cup hole is dependent on the exact amount of overlay required and the door thickness, so this needs to be determined for each use case. For 3/4" nominal plywood doors, a 22 mm offset is a good starting point to try with your test piece. I gave this product an overall five stars because it is hard to beat the quality and features provided at this price point; docked one point for easy to install due to lack of instructions, and one point on sturdiness for not providing thread locker on the lateral adjustment screws. The self closing mechanism appears to function well. However, for high-end installations (custom kitchens, bathrooms), in my opinion, these are not a replacement for the better name hinges available and the savings are not justifiable. The lack of instructions is inexcusable - an internet link would be perfectly acceptable, and would save on paper.

For me, these worked every bit as well as the name brand hinges, and I've used those A LOT. Maybe not quite as pretty to look at, but functionally they are great. And, given they are a fraction of the cost, I will make this my new go-to hinge. Give these a shot if you don't want to part with @ $7.00 per hinge on your next project, i doubt you will be disappointed!

First off, I am far from a professional, hobbyist at best. I made doors for a tall bookshelf and needed some hinges. I have to say, despite the lack of instructions, I am pretty impressed with these hinges. I had bought name-brand hinges at the big box store a few months back for some other doors I made for my bathroom vanity. While they worked good for the most part (and came with instructions), the adjustment screws and the screws for attaching them stripped so easy, even though I was trying to be super careful. These hinges seem to be durable and I was able to make my adjustments without fear of any of the screws stripping. I also removed the doors several times to make adjustments and to paint them and those screws also endured my repeated removal and attaching. Since these do not come with instructions, I attached a photo of the measurements I used (don't mind the chipped-out wood from my cheap bit). My project used 3/4" wood and I used scrap boards to practice on and figure out my measurements. I would recommend practicing on some scrap before using them on your project, so you don't mess up your pretty things. If I ever needed them again, I would definitely get these. They are better than what I bought at that big blue store and a WAY better price.

They feel durable and were fairly easy to install, even with my moderate handyman skills. The included screws and clip-on plate made the installation straightforward. The 3-way adjustability is a useful feature, allowing for some fine-tuning to get the doors to hang just right. It took a bit of tweaking to get everything aligned perfectly, but once adjusted, the doors opened and closed smoothly. One thing that stood out as a minus was that the adjustment process wasn’t as refined as I've experienced with some other brands. It took a bit more effort to get everything just so, but in the end, the result was satisfactory. In conclusion, if you're looking for a budget-friendly hinge solution that still offers the soft close feature and decent adjustability, these DecoBasics hinges are a solid choice. They may require a bit more patience during installation and adjustment compared to some premium brands, but once set, they perform well and the soft close feature is a nice touch, especially at this price point.

I've always used Blum hinges but when I needed 70 of them for a project, price became an issue. I took a chance on these generic hinges and was pleasantly surprised: 1) They are solidly made and offer up/down, in/out, side-to-side micro adjustments with dedicated screws, just like the clip-top Blums do. 2) They come with their own base plates--no floundering through Blum's somewhat cryptic on-line resources to hunt down long part numbers. 3) They come with their own screws, and while this might not seem like a big deal, they were the right screws and they were extremely high quality, with micro serrations at the tips to ensure quick, clean, easy insertion--like those Spax screws. 4) They are soft close, and at this price point (about $1.40 per hinge) that's simply amazing. 5) They detach from their base plates easily, and RE-attach more easily than the Blum clip-tops do, and your mileage may vary on this particular point. 6) Although I prefer three screws on the base plate for added fastening integrity, the design of these plates seems to achieve similar security with two screws and a footprint that locks itself to the inner carcass. Summary: I will use these again, despite ten years of Blum patronage, and yes, I would use them in my own house.

It’s one of those upgrades that doesn’t draw attention—but you feel it every time you use it. And once you have it, you don’t want to go back.

Soft close feature is nice, also has quick release which is great for temporarily taking the doors off when hanging the cabinet. Be sure to set the adjustments to center before installing as they are not necessarily set that way from the factory. If using a Kreg jig, set to 4mm from edge for these hinges.

I have been buying these same hinges for three years. The last two deliveries since you changed the quick release from a button to a pull. I have noticed that the closing speed is very very very slow. I might be looking for another brand very soon.

Just over a year and a half ago we purchased a relatively new home that had soft close drawers but not hinges. At first I was a little apprehensive about the quality and durability of these hinges given the very reasonable price so I only ordered a few to test them out first. I was very impressed with the hinges so went ahead and replaced all 110 cupboard door hinges. I held off writing a review fearing that, given the reasonable price, they would start to fail ..But, 14 months later, after much use and abuse, in a busy family home not one hinge has failed. I have no hesitation recommending these hinges .. Great value, Great Product!!

Wonderful product I purchased to replace all hardware on my kitchen cabinet to these soft close hinges. Worked cm perfectly winder product. Love them easy to install great price compared to purchase in a box store.
