I would check HP’s support site for you model laptop. If the laptop has a M.2 slot that supports SATA, and not just a M.2 WLAN(wireless) slot, it should work.

I need a msata 52pin drive for my laptop. will this work? does this have a heat sink? or do i really need to have a heat sink with an ssd of this size

For all of your questions, no. m-SATA is not M.2. SATA; It doesn’t have a heat sink; you don’t necessary need a heat sink unless you find your SSD extremely hot (more than 80 Celsius) during its use.

Will it work with motherboard with sata b-key?
