How durable is this toy for a very active kid and siblings?

Very durable. I have two very active boys and the toy survived few months already :-).

Can the claw grab things?

No it is stationary but detaches and can be reattached. It is just one solid plastic piece.

Can I get standard packaging? I hear the frustration free is awful for a gift!

It’s not very pretty but it’s nice with inpatient kids.
