Fits and works great. Great value. Instructions suck but it's EASY. Here's how to do it
The only directions are on the listing page for this product and need to be re-done because the English word choices are ambiguous and the low resolution pictures are THE WORST! But once you actually receive the item it all makes sense. For me the 2 biggest questions were "What the heck are they talking about with the groove and little plastic part and narrow side" when inserting the key sleeve into the housing, and also "How do I unsnap the new case in the first place without breaking that tab?" TIP: To open your new or old fob - 1. Let's call the side of the fob with the button cut outs the FRONT, and the other side with no holes the BACK. Let's call the end where the key sticks out the KEY END and the opposite end the TAB END (where the fob has an opening to attach to a key ring). 2. At the TAB END on the FRONT side of the case internally there is a wide tab running most of the width of the case; it hooks into its matching slot inside the BACK of the case; this tab's hook points away from the center of the fob case. 3. The fob case opens like a clam shell once you remove the tiny retaining screw. It spreads apart starting at the KEY END and hinged at the TAB END. After you lift it open about 45 degrees, gently pull the FRONT side in the direction of the KEY END to unhook the inner tab on the FRONT from it's groove on the BACK at the TAB END. 4. With the parts separated, the inner module with circuit board and battery lifts out. 5. Replace the little collar on the key with the new one by just sliding it on. Both sides of the metal key are identical so it doesn't matter which faces the FRONT or BACK. 6. Slide the key with its collar into the BACK half of the case. You'll see where it fits snugly and holds in place when you actually have it in your hands. The directions only make this sound complicated. It's not. It should fit snuggly in place so that the key stays put in the BACK half even before the rest of this is assembled. 7. The rest of it goes back together just the reverse of how you took it apart. Don't over tighten the retaining screw because it's metal cutting into soft plastic, and you'll need to open/close it again in the future every time you replace the battery. BTW This is a great time to replace the battery because the screw probably isn't going to stay tight after several battery replacements. After all, it's a Honda so you might have it a VERY long time. My buddy's 2010 Honda Accord key was so cracked and broken that the metal key wouldn't stay in the plastic housing at all. When he asked me to move his car I knew this was just what he needed. Hopefully this review and other sources will give you the confidence. It's easy and this fob is a GREAT value for the money. When he first saw it he though I bought him a new key. The original Honda logo sticker fits perfectly into the space on the new fob, but I'm not sure if the JB Weld I used to attach it will stick for as long as the fob itself lasts.

Exact replacement for factory key body for my Honda
It is exactly as pictured in the ad, perfect replacement. The hardest part was prying the key stem out of the old housing. I think my original key must have been glued in place from all the cracking and damage it has seen since 2009. I had to get creative with pliers but that is no negative on this product. This product was fantastic. A bit tricky getting the key inserted into the fob body, you take the metal key stem, slip it into the little black bit (it is obvious which part) then you orient it the right way and it goes against the back then slide down towards the key side. i suck at describing but don't force it like I almost did. When you find the right way to slide it, it just slides into place, locks into the half then you insert your electronic bit and close the two halves together, and use the provided screw to secure it. You also get a part number sticker to use if you want, but you will need to carefully remove your Honda Logo off your old fob and stick it into the recess in the back of this replacement. But when done, it looks factory, I love it. PRO: perfect replacement, relatively easy to switch over to new fob. I finished in a few minutes. Product arrived overnight. CON: Instructions do not come with the product so you need to either figure it out, or be in front of a computer to find instructions. If you have a damaged/broken key fob for Honda, I highly recomend this product and seller.

Bad quality. can't be treated as a real key fob case.
Don't buy this if you are looking at this product. Take from us. We've bought a few in the past. NONE survived more than a year of use. We have a Honda as a backup car, and therefore, we do not use it often. With that limited usage, this key case turned out to be a joke. The metal base would come off the case. It's like a loose tooth dangling in your mouth, and you never know when it will fall off. I've used tapes, glues to secure the 'position'. No matter how I think it should be taped, the metal key fell. Luckily, I have discovered it in my driveway, parking lot. Embarassed. I bought the more expensive one and finally, turn is turn, off is off. A real fix is done with less then $30 key fob case. This product is a joke. Sorry.

Moderate replacement
Fits my fob well. Not made of durable plastic so it cracked within a few weeks.

Great replacement part
I’m thrilled with this replacement key! My Honda key had become bent and was falling apart, making it difficult to use. I found this replacement for a fantastic price, and it turned out to be exactly what I needed. The body fit the main board perfectly, and the key works like new again. It’s durable, easy to assemble, and saved me from the hassle and expense of going to a dealership. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an affordable, quality replacement!

The hole for the screw does not match up with the key hole
I wish I could have given it five stars but I can't even use it because the screw hole on the key fob shell does not match up with the screw hole on my key blade. I tried multiple ways and still the same ending result. I was really hoping it would work because it's a very inexpensive fix since the dealership wants $75 for the shell and another $85 to make a new key blade which I do not need. I'd like to order another from the seller but I'm afraid I'm going to get the same results. I wish I would have read the reviews beforehand because that seems to be the biggest complaint for just about everyone. When repackaging the key fob shell, I couldn't even get it to close so that may be another issue, it left a gap. I really wanted this to work!! It would be great if the manufacturer could take the actual key measurements from the key hole blade for Hondas and recreate the mold to fit better. I ended up just having to pay the $60 to a local company I found that has the key shell where the key is actually made into the molding. They recut the key and swapped out my fob. It's very durable and worth the money!

Looks just like OEM keyfob when properly assembled
Yes, the plastic tabs do look like they could break easily, but when the two halves were snapped together as the manufacturer intended and the screw installed, the whole unit looked and felt rock-solid. Assembly took less than 5 minutes. Now that I know how to do it, I bet I could do another one in two minutes. For the price, two big thumbs up. The key now looks and feels brand new. Even if it only last a few years, its totally worth replacing my old cracked and broken plastic FOB. 5 stars!

Does the job and saves money!
Due to heat and humidity, my key fob case was faltering but there was nothing wrong with the battery, etc. I ordered this case to replace the plastic exterior. It fit perfectly and was easy to install and replace the old. I'm not a handy person, and this was easy for me. I know it saved me a hundred dollars from going to a locksmith or car repair place. Be gentle with the screws, you don't want to screw too tight. Other than that, you should be good to go. I will be ordering another one of these when the time comes.

Doesn’t work for 2010 Civic EXL
It was a great price, however I ordered two and none would snap together. The battery may be too thick?! I have a 2010 Honda Civic- I’m not sure if this may just be the wrong one but I can’t use them :(
