The Expected One: Anticipating All of Jesus in the Advent

I used this for our family devotionals through the month of December. Lessons are short and simple enough that our kids (5 and 3) could understand and interact with us. The author does a great job presenting the gospel story through all of the Bible and showing how Jesus is the perfect fulfillment of God's promises. Highly recommend, especially for parents who want to help their children understand the true meaning and miracle of Christmas.

Dr. James knows his scripture and how to present it to the whole family! We used this for our Christmas devotion time. Excellent read and motivates you to keep the kids involved.

Our family has enjoyed this book the last couple years. We'll continue to enjoy it this year. Our kids were 5 & 6 when we first introduced this to them. I've loved seeing how God uses different parts of the book each year to speak into our family's lives. What is not well understood one year has a significant impact the next.

This little book supplies a good basis for devotions over the Advent period - and is especially aimed at families with younger children.I added it to my devotional reading over the Advent period and quite enjoyed it. Ideal if you've never looked at an Advent-specific devotional.
