I have purchased this exact Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Coverage in 'Deep Soft Black' (shade 200) 26 times now, which should tell you everything you need to know about how well the actual product works. It is my absolute holy grail for covering stubborn grays. The nourishing creme formula is easy to apply, and it leaves my hair feeling moisturized rather than completely dried out and damaged. The color itself is a beautiful, natural-looking black that has dimension, rather than looking like flat, artificial shoe polish. However, my main reason for writing this review is to warn other buyers about the ordering process. The biggest frustrating problem with this specific shade is that it is constantly running out of stock on Amazon. Because it is so frequently unavailable, third-party sellers heavily take advantage of the low inventory and drastically inflate the price. A normal, fair price for this should be right around $25, but I continually see shady sellers overcharging and pricing it at $35 or more. The Verdict: The hair dye itself is flawlessly a 5-star product and the only one I trust. Just be very careful to check who the seller is and what the current price is before you check out. If you see it in stock for its normal $25 price point, do yourself a favor and buy a few boxes to hold you over until the next restock!

I've used this product many times, and have no issues with it. Application process and hair texture/type can alter the results. Sometimes hair will not hold dye well, other times it will, so issues with the dye are generally not by fault of the product. Just some advice: try to apply this on hair that hasn't recently been washed but also isn't very oily. It takes better to hair that isn't super clean or super dirty. Hair that is slightly damaged will hold dye better than hair that has no damage. As stated in my review title, results will vary (for almost every hair color product) based off of our own hair chemistry and application methods.
