Bought for ladies game night. So much fun. We laughed and had a great time playing this. Will be playing many more times

This is a very nice, heavy-weight set of Mexican Train Dominos. We enjoy playing the game with this set.

The box and playing pieces are beautiful. As at least one other reviewer mentioned, there was a very strong odor when I first opened the package (shellac or varnish, I believe), but I let it air overnight and it was fine the next day. The dots on some of the dominoes are sloppily painted, as mentioned by a few others, but nothing that would affect the game (no markings on the sides or backs). Based on other reviews, I did sort all the dominoes into order to make sure they were all there. They were - but it took a long time to do that, and it occurred to me that if the manufacturer would package them in order in the first place, they could then be sure that all dominoes are there before they ship, and the buyer would be able to see at a glance that all were there. And, I wish they would include a nice netting or fabric bag to keep the dominoes in. You can't just toss them loosely into their compartment, they don't fit that way; you must stack them neatly - that takes time. If they were in a bag, the manufacturer could leave out the divider inside the box that creates the compartment for them. And it would be easier to put them into play - you wouldn't have to scoop them out by hand, or dump the whole box upside down. Those are the only two suggestions (not complaints) I would make - other than that, this game is a beautiful set that we will enjoy with our kids and grandkids for many years to come! Oh: someone mentioned that this set doesn't have the "train noise" component that other sets have. I bought this Electronic Choo-Choo Dominoes Train Whistle as an accessory, and it works fine. (We have a beautiful-sounding Wooden Train Whistle which I considered using as the "sound effect" for the game - but then different people would be putting their lips on the whistle, and I decided that probably wasn't a good idea!)

This is a beautiful set that comes packed and its own box. Very good quality.

Our family LOVES this game from age 8-80. This is a really nice edition which we like because the game gets heavy use on many family & friend game nights. Not too hard not too easy — perfect after dinner game.

Let's face it: if you just want to play Mexican Train dominoes, you don't need a fancy set to do that. If you're looking at this set, it's because you want something nice to play with. With that in mind, you generally want what's least expensive, what looks the nicest, and what's going to last. While you could probably find a Mexican Train set that costs less, I found the price (about $35 at the time this review was written) to be very reasonable considering the quality of the set. The sturdy wooden box is going to last a lot longer than a cardboard box, and that matters because of the weight of a full set of dominoes can tear the corners of a cardboard box over time if the box isn't handled carefully. Torn box corners can equal lost pieces, and in dominoes, one lost domino means you can no longer play the game. The box also just looks good. The solid wood hub and metal train engines (real metal, not metal-colored plastic) give the set a classy look. Breaking out a set like this just looks nicer than one with cheap plastic pieces. Being made of wood and metal, they're also going to be more durable than their plastic brethren. The dominoes themselves are of standard quality, but they are well made and look fine. Bottom line: this is a set for someone who likes premium/luxury editions of games or who wants a set that will stand up to hard use and storage.

This wonderful 'train' game is designed to entertain and engage. It invokes fun, laughter, and bonding memories. The game comes in an attractive and very well made two tone solid wood box, that is felt lined inside. The 'lid' sides open and shut from the right side, traveling on the incised 'rabbit' on the top edge of the box. The contents are of excellent quality, and are: 1. One solid wood central hub station, 2. Eight cast metal trains, 2 golden, 2 silver, 2 antigue brass, 2 antique nickle in appearance. The last two tones are difficult to tell apart. 3. Nintey-one tournament style double twelve color dot dominoe tiles, 4. Two score pads, and instrustions. The over all size of the storage box is aprox 10" x 12" x 2 3/4" deep, and weighs a 'hearty' 6 lb. The object of the game is for each player to use up all their tiles by playing them onto one or more chains (or trains) leading out of the central hub station. Two people can play, and no more then eight. The usual time with eight players is 1 1/2 hours. The suggested age for this game is eight years and up. I suggest this is the perfect game for many occasions. Family, friends, social gatherings, game night, or a gift. This game is loads of fun, and is perfect for any gathering. This delightful game is the most luxurious set available. It is strong yet elegant, and it's classic rich look makes this set a great display item. This game is alot of fun, it does not take alot of time to teach someone to play. Great game , very enjoyable.

Muy bonito, todo bien, solo no me trajo el Score pad

The wooden lid of the game box gave way immediately upon opening. Besides that, there were obvious glue stains on the lid, and the inside of the game box was very dusty. Very disappointing! Would not recommend.
