Beautyrest Reversible Heated Throw - Plush/Sherpa Heating Blanket, Grey

I was skeptical about heated blankets after trying cheaper options with hot spots and wires you could feel. This Beautyrest throw is in a completely different league. The softness is unreal. The plush/sherpa reversible design means cozy comfort on both sides. I use it even unplugged because the material is thick and warm on its own. No shedding, no pilling — just buttery soft quality. The heat distribution is perfect. No hot spots or cold zones. The Secure Comfort technology delivers even, consistent warmth across the entire blanket. Three heat settings give you flexibility — medium is just right for movie nights. Build quality matters. Knowing Beautyrest has 16+ years with zero recalls and exceeds UL safety standards gave me peace of mind. Machine washable is a huge bonus. Bonus: It works great with my Anker SOLIX C1000 portable power station — perfect for camping or power outages! Two minor notes: The 2-hour auto shut-off is a safety feature, but I wish there was an option to extend it for longer sessions. Also, the indicator light on the controller is quite bright for sleeping — you may want to cover it or face it away. Neither diminishes how much I love this blanket. It's my go-to for chilly evenings, and I'm already considering a second one. Highly recommend!

Love it. It’s extremely soft and cozy. Feels luxurious to the touch. I ordered the Indigo and the color is beautiful. A very deep, rich blue. I don’t know if I would say it’s light weight, but it’s the right weight for my liking. The only complaint I have is about the controls. They are easy enough to use, but I frequently go to bed in the dark as my husband goes to bed earlier than I do, and it is difficult to find the on/off button in the dark. I have to feel around for it. My last blanket had a toggle switch for the on/off, and a dial for the temp control that was very easy to find in the dark. For this one, the on/off and temp controls are all bubble buttons, so I have to feel around in the dark for the right one. Also, the controller sits flat on my night stand, and it is hard to reach it from in bed, if I need to make adjustments. Previous ones all stood more on end, making them easier to reach and operate. But overall that wasn’t enough of an issue to be a deal breaker for me. The last thing, the first few days I used it, I started it out on low temperatures, around 3-4, but there was no heat, so I had to keep turning it up, and up, until it was around 15 before I started to feel the heat. I was about to return it for that reason, but after a few days it seemed to kind of “kick in”, and now the lower temps are working fine, thank goodness, because the higher temperatures are REALLY warm.

Let's face it - electric blankets, no matter what brand or manufacturer, are generally a low reliability item. We all love 'em when they work, but it is very difficult to find one that lasts. I have used sunbeam blankets for many years, and slowly the lifespan of each purchase decreases to the point where if it works after one year, you feel lucky. The last sunbeam king heated blanket lasted only one winter. Fortunately, it was purchased at Costco, which is the best place to make returns. After reviewing Wirecutter and Chicago Tribune Best Reviews, decided to take a gamble on this Beautyrest heated blanket. I can tell from reviews several folks ended up with duds. I lucked out this time, and love this heated blanket. Have been using for 3 months. (Now that I've written this review, you know what will happen) One thing I did differently with this purchase is I got a twin size. Previous have all been kings. Spouse and I need different sleeping temps and only one of us really wanted the heat. So theory is maybe a blanket that is smaller, less wires, tugged and used by only one person will hold out longer? Time will tell. Pros: - Sherpa is fantastic on this blanket. Thick, no shedding. If it "dies" it will still be a good blanket to use normally. That's a plus for the $ spent. - Wires are well woven and hidden/soft to the touch - Does not slide off the bed (like the sunbeam's did. Annoying they would slide to whichever side the nap was directed) - Controller window stays lit. Thank goodness, can actually tell if you have it on or off in the dark. Last sunbeam did not stay lit. (also see con's for more info) - Very fast quick heat option - like 15 minutes - for when you forget to turn it on before bed. Heating very even. Regular heating very good too. - on the twin size, power cord is very nice length. Can't speak for other sizes or dual controls. - Fun color options, thank goodness Cons: - although the controller window stays lit and is easy to read, the off and up/down buttons are not lit, and hard to find in the dark. Some texturing on the buttons to be able to feel arrows, etc would have been nice. - power cord connection has a "lock" feature to ensure it stays plugged in. Basically just a plastic clip. Mine was so tight it would not lock in place until i bent the plastic piece just a bit. It locked in, but the plastic piece is not sturdy - it will probably break off if I unhook and wash the blanket. Next will be duct tape. I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts. Again, if heating stops, it will still be a great sherpa blanket by itself without the power.

Part of the blanket doesn't get warm, absolutely love the feel of it, and the color . Part that gets warm is so awesome. When you have temperatures that go down to --57 degrees with wind chill you need that warmth. I love Blanket to cold to return it. 1st updated I finally told Amazon wanted a replacement when my granddaughter was cold and only one side got really warm the other side hardly anything I requested a replacement it arrived very quickly however in the wrong color I had beautiful indigo and they sent a plain gray. 2nd Update I received a replacement Blanket from Amazon since contacted them right after purchase. Now fast forward 6 months now that winter is here I need the blanket and doesn't it work. So I contacted Amazon because it supposed to have a one year warranty. But there no information on the paperwork that came with it. So contacted Amazon customer service was told pretty much sorry about your lucky we can't help you. They did give me 2 numbers first one just a busy signal. Second one doesn't handle the issue, however they did give me a number for it. 1- 866- 456-8852, I was able to reach someone. Thankfully they were able to help me. Remember when your item arrives to send in that warranty card. Write down all the information on the back of your controller incase it gets worn off. Because they will need it, also the correct phone number is on the back of the controller. It will save you a lot of time and stress. Because when you pay for something so expensive can't afford for it to not to work 6 months after purchasing it. Sad first one didn't work, 2nd one stopped 6 months after purchasing. And figure you don't use it during the summer. So would I recommend it no. Love the softness of it. But it's the heat I need living in frozen tundra.

The blanket is very soft and gives out plenty of heat. However, the controller is poorly engineered. The biggest problem is the display. It is impossible to read without lights on. The LCD display is not back lit but only has side lights that only add glare. The lights look like old style neon lights or a LED simulation of it which puts out very little light. To add problems the plastic covering the whole controller is not clear which makes it even harder to see the display. The buttons are small and hard to push, especially when reaching over when laying in bed. You have to know what number the display is showing to be able to properly adjust to a new setting. Also, having it lay flat on the nightstand just adds to the problem issues. My previous electric blankets controller (it was a low voltage type with a big knob on top that you could grab and turn to make an adjustment ... just like a volume control. However, I went through 3 of them under warranty because the blanket wires or thermostats failed and you would get the "6 second" indication where the controller would work for 6 seconds then turn off. This appears to be a design/quality control issue) was a much nicer design. The only good thing about the controller is that it allows the use of voice controlled/smart home power switches. It can be programmed to turn on in a previous setting when powered on by the smart outlet. The manufacturer should redesign the controller and make it available to the consumer. I took off one star due to this. Other reviewers have reported the same issue with pictures. As an electrical engineer I would fix these problems if it didn't void the warranty.

Bought this as a gift for my Mom and OMG so impressed. Super soft and luxurious feeling. The Purple was so rich and beautiful, mom said it made her feel like she was a queen.

Only had it one night, so no durability report at this time. You can feel the wires when you're handling the blanket, making the bed, but they are not noticeable when you are lying in bed, and I had the blanket directly over the sheet, so right next to me. The blanket itself is quite warm and thick without even using the electric function. When on it warms up relatively quickly and evenly. I find blankets warm the bed quicker than mattress pad versions do. Good size, overhangs an adequate amount, but not too much. Nice butterscotch color, that I got a big discount for choosing.

The throw is really nice, lightweight, and very soft and warm. Unfortunately something went wrong with the controller. The customer service was excellent, and I received a replacement within two weeks of filing a claim. That is Five Stars service!

The perfect size and perfect colour to use on the couch. Warms up fast and feels incredibly soft and luxurious. It did have a smell to it when I opened the package and I had to wash it twice to get rid of the smell but now it is perfect. I am keeping the thermostat lower now.

My heated blanket is very light, soft and cosy even if not turned on I still cuddle under it and feel so toasty.

Controls are easy to manage. I like the separate plugs for each side rather than only one.
