Awesome Curler, A MUST have item in your makeup bag!
Ever since I first started curling my eyelashes at the age of 12, I have always used heated eyelash curlers. I've always had great results with them, because my eyelashes are very, VERY straight. The main problem I had with the heated eyelash curler was that if I was in a hurry, I couldn't curl my lashes because it took too long to heat. Also, I would always have to replace the battery every month or so. My final reason for searching for a normal lash curler was the fact that the heated curlers didn't keep my lashes curled throughout the day, so I wanted to try something different. So,I searched all over Google and read review after review, which pointed me to purchase a Japonesque eyelash curler (either the "Go Curl" or "Power Curl"). I have never heard of this brand before, so I was very skeptical about purchasing a product that I have never heard of. However, after reading a lot the positive and negative reviews, I felt that the compact curler was worth the purchase. After receiving the curler, I was extremely pleased by my purchase. I tested the curler by wearing no mascara all day to see how well it maintained the curl of my lashes...the curled lashes lasted ALL DAY! That is the first time that has every happened to me before. Then my second test was to see how it would handle the weight of mascara while still maintaining my curled lashes...FLAWLESS! I would go and purchase this product immediately if you are unsatisfied with your eyelash curler. If you still are not sold, I'll even list the pros and cons that I noticed about the product: PROs 1. Compact shape and color(I got Pink!): this is a major plus because you can take it anywhere and it looks very cute! ^-^ 2. Easy to use: I know some people complained about it not being easy to use, but it actually really is! All you have to do is have the top pink part that is curved touch your lid where your eyelashes begin. Then, you just press down on the flap to curl your lashes. Hold it for 10 secs. and you will have instantly curled lashes! 3. Comes with FREE pad refills: I don't know about you, but who doesn't like free stuff? Not only does it come with an extra pad conveniently tucked in the base, but they offer you free refills as well! I've read reviews where the eyelash curlers don't offer refills to even be purchased, and you have to buy an entirely new one to use it! That's just silly. Also, why buy a curler where you have to purchase refill pads, when you can get them for free? CONs 1. It is delicate: Because it is plastic, it does seem like it is going to break at any moment when you press on the flap to curl your lashes. But in order to curl them, you really don't need to press on the flap too hard. I think many people are used to squeezing their normal curlers and think that you need to apply the same amount of pressure in order to have nicely curled lashes. But that is so not true with this curler. So always lightly press when using this product. I'm so happy with my purchase, and thought that I should share the love. Hope this helps!

Take Some Getting Used To
First impression wasn't great. They looked and felt cheap. First use wasn't that impressive either. HOWEVER, upon playing and experimenting with these they are now my FAVORITE tool in the shed! I was afraid to use much force as many reviews are talking about them breaking. If you are careful and do not put as much pressure as the metal ones, you shouldn't have a problem. They WILL pinch if you get too close to your lash line. No different than the metal ones, so be careful. These also go completely across your lash line and curl the outer lashes in the corner without crumpling the ones on the very end. I don't know about anyone else, but the metal one I was using would crumple my outside corner lashes - UGH! Here's what I do: Put on my eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc. before mascara. CURL LASHES BEFORE MASCARA being careful not to push too hard, yet do use some force for approximately 15 seconds. Put on mascara, let dry. CURL LASHES AGAIN, the same way. Now we are rockin!!!!!! Here's the part I LOVE!!!!!!!! With my metal lash curler, when I would curl my lashes after putting on eyeliner, the *&%$ thing would take off some of my liner with it on removal! Like the eyeliner would STICK to the metal part that touches your lid and then some would always come off. I HATED THAT! It didn't matter how long I let it dry first. THIS LASH CURLER DOES NOT DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!! I can curl the !&%$ out of my lashes after eyeliner and nothing comes off! Woooohoooo! Yeah baby!!!!!! Mascara also does NOT stick to the rubber part or plastic if you let it dry first. On my metal one this was not the case and my lashes always stuck to the metal and rubber if I curled after mascara. I had to quit doing it, but now I can do it with great results with this curler. Lashes stay curled way longer if you curl after mascara because of the wax in the mascara. Just don''t use mega force afterwards as this can damage lashes. I also love how compact it is and not all bulky and awkward like the metal ones. I can see how this could break easily though, so be careful with it. I will probably buy another one as a spare just in case. Yep, this was a great buy :)

Good for "experienced" eyelashing curling gals out there
First let me say that this eyelash curler is fairly difficult to learn how to use. If you don't have a lot of time to spend on your eyelashes and you're simply looking for a little boost before your mascara, I don't think this curler is for you. However if you're like me and your eyes are the main focus of your makeup routine, this is a wonderful tool to have in your kit. I will try my best to describe this curler, but I'm having a hard time thinking of descriptions for what I want to say so bear with me. First, this is not a tool that will give your lashes a gentle curve. It is one of those that "kinks" your lashes straight upwards. This can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how skillfully you use it. If you place it precisely at the base of your lashes, it will kink them straight up from the base and you will have sky high lashes that stay all day! However if you don't get it at the base, you will have a visible kink in your lashes that just makes them look weird, especially from the side view. I find that I get the best results if I use my normal Revlon curler to put some curl in the top portion of my lashes and then use the Japonesque at the base afterward. When I do this, I feel like I am wearing false eyelashes and it seriously lasts until I take a shower the next morning! Also, because of how thin the top portion of the curler is, you can use the curler after you apply mascara (for a more dramatic look) and it won't squish a flat line of mascara like a normal curler would. On that note, one thing that is different about this curler is the top half of the curler. Instead of being smooth and rounded like a normal metal curler, this is wedge shaped...it is almost to the point of being sharp. Another thing that is different is that the edges are open. This way not only does it get every lash all the way out to the edges of your eyelids, but you also can get to the very base of your lashes without pinching the skin in the corners of your eyes. One thing I don't like though...how open the curler appears in the picture is as open as it goes. Normal curlers will open up much wider. To use this one, it takes practice to line up the small opening exactly with your lashline...I hope this makes sense. Another thing that adds to this difficulty is that the opening is blocked by a clear plastic piece that is hard to see in the picture. But it blocks your view while you are trying to line up the curler. Again hard to describe but I hope I make some sense. All in all I am very happy with this curler because I am now able to stop using false eyelashes and I have dramatic lash height that lasts until I wash it out. The con is that it did take about a week of practicing with it to get the technique down perfectly.

Compact size, but too small for my eyelids
Cute and small. If it fits your eyelashes you might like them. It's a good price for them. They don't fit my eyelashes so I'm returning them.
