Pepper Mill & Salt Shaker

Very nice set. I like the clear plastic base. Easy to clean but the silver tops make them classy.

At first I was reluctant to buy a plastic shakers set; however, after using it my reluctance has diminished. They are every bit as satisfactory as glass with the exception of glass's not breaking and having shards all over. They are light and suitable to leave out. While not beautiful they serve their purpose with not the first problem. I've emptied both two times since getting them and they clean easily and there are not cloudy spots from anything. The salt flows easily but do be careful as it might come out too fast. The mill is just right and adds a little ping of extra taste compared to pre-ground pepper. I try to get fresh pepper corns; however, sometimes old ones have to do in a pinch. No pun intended. Bottom line: For the price and the purpose these are perfect for our needs and work just fine. When necessary I will turn to Trudeau for a replacement set or an additional one.

These grinders are big enough to feel good in your hand, strong enough to where they aren't a chore to use when the wife is cooking and they look good. The only thing I don't like is there isn't a cap on them so the grinder is always open. After you get done using them you need to tap them to get the rest of the ground pepper and salt out of them or else you have a pile on whatever it is you set them down on. Better make sure it isn't over whatever your eating or else you'll wind up with a pile on it instead.

I love this salt/pepper shaker set. A brand new set would have cost $25 I believe. I selected a used one in good condition described as having marks on each shaker. I paid $10.80 for set. When they arrived, you could hardly see anything. I used one of my special solutions and shined both shakers, and they look brand new.

Nice, durable product. It's attractive and easy to load. It even came loaded with black pepper corns and salt!! I've never bought salt and pepper shakers pre-loaded before!!! That's probably worth at least an extra $5 in what it would cost to load it! The acrylic bodies are tough, attractive and obviously made to last. The tops and grinder on the pepper-mill are all good quality chromed metal and will likewise last, so I'm very happy with the product! These are replacing a wooden set I owned for 25 years and I expect these will last at least that long and at my age, that means they'll probably be around longer than I will!

Each unit comes with 3 sticker labels. These pretty hard to get off, but once off, the glue left very very hard to get off. I first tried mineral spirits, then glue gone. Neither worked until I used a plastic scraper with the glues gone over and over again. It took a over 30 minutes of scrapping and soaking to get both units clean. Then of course small amount of cleaner got inside so the inside it had to be cleaned and dried. Once clean the units worked fine, but we had to put smaller granular salt crystals in because the effort to grind was too hard. The pepper grinder button is border line acceptable. Hopefully it won’t get worse as it gets worn in. The glue issue was definitely a pain to remove. I almost returned them based on that. I imagine these have been sitting on shelf for a couple of years for the glue to have hardened like that. Otherwise the supplier is nuts to use an adhesive that is so difficult to remove.

I am very happy with these. Others noted that the salt comes out too fast. We actually bought them to use in our open kitchen, for cooking because we use fine sea salt. The holes were too small in the other shaker we had. The pepper grinder is a little stiff at first but I'm sure will loosen up. The grind size is just right. Good for a gift - they look more expensive than they are.

This is an excellent set - I read all the reviews and was surprised at all the absolutely stupid questions that people asked about this set. It works as it is supposed to and I have had no issues with it and would highly recommend to all to buy…..even the stupid people that don’t know how to refill each unit ( maybe they should read the directions that come with the set rather than taking it apart and them blaming it for being defective). I am very happy with this set and would purchase it again

Standard salt shaker and pepper grinder. They go well on any dining table or can be store in the cupboard. Good for starting out you kitchen collection!
