Nice product! Works perfectly for our Xbox and small mixer!
Never thought I'd ever need a voltage transformer. I mean, most electronics support universal voltage these days right? Well, Xbox One apparently doesn't. My roommate brought his Xbox One from Europe, and it couldn't run properly here. After some research, I think we need a transformer. There are cheaper options out there for sure, but for electricals, quality, stability and durability are always the most important. So we chose this one as it seems to have a long history of reputation, and a reasonable price. The product came in with a nice compact look. A bit heavy, but we aren't throwing it around anyway. Some reviews complained about the smell, but I think it is not that bad, why would you keep a transformer around your face? Operating it was pretty straightforward, select the voltage on the back at 110V, plug it in, plug the Xbox in the 220V Universal outlet, turn the transformer on, turn the Xbox on, AND IT WORKS! Till today we have been using it for 3 months now, and it never failed us. We sometimes also used it for my small mixer from China (rated at 250W) and it also worked perfectly. Do pay attention to the suggested wattage though, a 500W transformer doesn't mean it can run 500W appliance, as electronics tend to have a voltage spike when turned on. Some common sense from an engineering student :) There are spare fuses, so you still have a second (and a third) chance. Overall I would recommend this product.

works as advertised, no major complaints
The unit is not designed for frequent traveling but is an excellent companion to have when staying somewhere long term and it's small enough to load into luggage if you're okay with the added weight. I had an upcoming extended trip wanting to bring my coffee pot so I chose the 500W unit. The unit powered my laptop, multiple smaller devices and even a small coffee pot simultaneously through a power strip, it also ran a rice cooker and xbox 360 without issue. The USB port was convenient but had a difficult time maintaining the higher amperage ratings for fast charging on some devices. Other 'travel' optimized transformers in this price range are more convenient but you usually wind up with a lower wattage rating. My only note is that users need to verify the actual supply voltage from the host country, there are multiple jumper settings on the back and it's important to ensure the jumper is set on the correct voltage.

Works fine but very loud hum
It's a little tough for me to rate this, because whether it "works" or not for your purposes depends on what those purposes are. I need a transformer for a subwoofer built for the EU. This transformer does exactly what I need to it do electronically, providing the proper power to the speaker and eliminating the dreadful POP heard when it goes to sleep or wakes up (it's a Genelec F One), but it's unusable for a hi-fi situation because it hums very loudly. For me, it's a return. If I needed it to power something like a French circular saw, then sure, it's great.

It works with my stereo from Europe, great quality, very reliable.
I bought this for a pre-owned Germany vintage stereo collection. Seller was kind enough to tell me that it only works on EU 230V so I need a voltage converter for US 110V. He also recommend this brand that he’s been using since 2019, which I’m glad I listened. Compact size, very sturdy product, works perfectly since I received them!

Great Little Device
This is a simple product that works as advertised. There isn't much to it. 110v in & 220v out or vice versa. The 5v USB charger was nice. It works great with my iphone though it is wasteful to use this as a USB charger. I use the converter with a 220V kitchen appliance from overseas. I was doubtful that it would work as motors need a lot of power to start. I am happy to say that I haven't had any issues. This item was very inexpensive and really works without a hitch. There is a little plug on the back that you push into the unit depending on the output voltage you need. But apart from that you just set it & forget it.

Terrible Product Do Not Buy It!!!!
Goldsource® Step Up and Down Voltage Converter Transformer ST500 - Transformer - AC 110/220 V - 500 Watt I purchased the product because I had to take a trip to China and needed something to charge my electronics. When I arrived in China, the fuses kept on burning out when I tried to use the converter. I got an electrician at the hotel to help me out and he said that the problem wasn't the fuses, rather the product was poorly made and didn't work properly. He was shocked that a brand new product from the US would not work until he realized that the product was made in China. The electrician then added that the products for converters coming out of China are terrible. He recommended me to purchase converters from the US as they have better quality products. I guess I will know the next time around! Luckily for me, the hotel had a converter for me to use. Since I live in the US, there was no way that I knew of to test the converter until I got to a foreign country. If I had to do it all over again, I would spend a little bit more money and make sure to purchase a converter manufactured in the US. These things are heavy and a pain to drag around so if you're staying at a hotel that has a lot of American tourists, they may have one already.

Pleased
I bought a couple of these transformers after my move from Europe to the US, and I am very pleased after my first 3 months of using them. I use one of them to power: - NAD stereo amplifier - PS4 - PC monitor - PC speakers While I haven't yet needed to power all of these at once, it does a fine job of powering the stereo and the PC monitor at the same time. My other transformer powers a 32" LCD TV and a small LaserJet printer. Cons: - It has a fairly high idle power consumption (I haven't measured it, but I would guesstimate 6-12 watts based on the amount of heat it emits, which is probably normal for a device like this). Therefore I turn it off when it's not in use. - Which brings me to my second con: The power switch. The switches are still working on my transformers, but they don't seem to be of the best quality. I get the feeling that they won't last for years of daily use, but I guess we'll see.

使えない
所詮アメリカ向けの商品なので、110V仕様、出力は10%低い200V。何に使えるのか?
