Dr. Kidd's Guide to Herbal Dog Care

I’m so please with this book. I have plenty of human herbal books. This was the first dog herbal book I have ordered and the best. I love the simplicity and direct information in this book. I actually wish he would write a human herbal guide because I will definitely buy it. You are going to love this book

Don't be fooled by the length of the book or the year of publication. Information in this book is very densely condensed and timeless, yet written in very simple accessible language. Layouts are deceptively simple - I recommend you do not skim the pages through, and read every bit of word and do not forget to check the references at the end of the book because he dose not repeat the same information in his book for, I believe, you can access them yourself. He knows what he is talking about via real life, lived experiences with his patients.Only thing I would add is if you are new to herbs and don't yet know how to properly prepare herbs, I highly recommend a website LearningHerbs.com (Rosalee de la Forêt, author of "Alchemy of Herbs: Transform Everyday Ingredients into Foods and Remedies That Heal" is a contributor) to learn how to prepare effective herb remedies because if you don't, it's not going to work. There are some free videos.

Our golden doodle struggles with yeasty ears and itchy skin, so I have learned much about herbs to add to her food each day from this book that seem to be helping a lot.

Informative book.

I use this book as a reference. It has been critical to address my dog's ear problems (yeast) and cat's urinary problems. The only caveat is that I bought both the dog and cat herbal guides. It was probably unnecessary to buy both books. The herbs appear to be the same for dogs and cats. Think I will resale one of my copies.

This is such a great book! People often mistake foods and herbs that humans can eat always being good for dogs. This isn't the case. So it's so great to have this as a guiding manual for herbal dog medicine.This past weekend I made my first tincture for my parent's dog. It's for anxiety from electrical storms.Great book. The only one I found on the subject written by a veterinarian that is written at a level I understand well.Now if only Dr. Kidd would update this book with proper dosing for CBD for dogs it would be perfect!

I found Herbal Dog Care to be a great beginner's book for using herbs and natural pet care. However, if you're an experienced herbalist like myself, it leaves you wanting a lot more from Dr. Kidd. I thought he could have gone a lot more in depth with the cause and treatment of different ailments. I'm also a little disappointed that Herbal Dog Care is pretty much identical to Herbal Cat Care. I wish I knew that before buying both. It is obvious, though, that Dr. Kidd is very passionate about herbs and animals. Very easy and enjoyable read. Great introductory information to help you take care of your furry loves!

I bought this book for the knowledge I thought I could get from it . I was looking for amounts of herbs per body weight for my dogs the information for that was generic the information on the herbs is good . I have most of the herbs that I would use in the book but also know that some of these herbs can harmful if the dose isn't correct. By careful with some of the herbs . If I wont use them I wont give to my dog and most need a amount that can be used and how long they can be given. over all some good information but needs better detail.

Love this book.. I have 3 dogs and use this book quite a bit for information. It's very clear and easy to read. Great for a beginner herbalist like myself and for transferring the information over to our dogs.Looking forward to getting his cat book.
