White Rodgers Emerson 1F95-1277 Touchscreen 7-Day Programmable Thermostat

This thermostat works great with my heat pump (2 heat / 1 cool). The display is bright and easy to read, and it was easy enough to install (once discovering how my kooky heat pump unit was actually wired). Initial setup required cracking open the manual but setting up the cooling schedule for the days of the week was very straightforward. One of my favorite features is the ability to "dumb down" the model. For instance, I only need two settings per day, not four which is the default. So setting it to two made it quicker and easier to program. Also, there appears to be an option to have one setting for all days of the week (m-f) and then individual settings for saturday and sunday (5-1-1) so that you don't have to worry with individually programming the week days. I'm not using this option but when I reprogram for heat I might turn that on. It's great to have the option to use the full capabilities or only a subset.

It came faster than promised - in pristine shape. In included the wall backplate which it doesn't say and I didn't need, but appreciate having a back up. I have two units in my house, same backplate, but one says White-Rogers on it yet they must have been purchased by Emerson who kept the model number consistent (helpful). This one fit perfectly and the back lighting is probably 3 times as strong as my other two units (which are a bit hard to see with out using a flashlight - young people would probably do okay). It is so bright it might bother some, stronger than a wall night light. My White-Rogers unit failed because the internal thermostat would not read correctly one time and this last time not at all. I used cold/warm to reactivate it one time, but this time no go so replaced. I was a bit anxious about buying used (45% savings) over new and from a private individual, but again great shape and works well and came early. The seller packed it in the original box with the quick-start guide - no manual (but I did find it on-line). The seller did NOT use any packing material inside the box (no bubble wrap or paper) so it was able to bounce around in the box - I think not smart, especially as UPS and USPS have broken things lately (not FedX surprisingly). Still this unit is durable or I got lucky, working very well. Other than the chancy packing, I give the seller 5 stars.

Very easy to program and the manual is well laid out. Only knocked it one star down due to failure of including mounting screws. It arrived brand new as expected as it had the battery pull tab to prevent the included batteries from discharging while in shipment and had the protective film over the touchscreen. The thermostat is very accurate and also gives you the ability to tweak the readings to match a known accurate temp reading (from a temp gun) so you can always ensure you can calibrate it for the highest accuracy. Pairs well with my Trane heat pump & air handler split system.

Easy to replace my old thermostat which was an older version of this one! Working great!

Ordered thermostat to replace my 8 yr old White Rogers 1F95-1277 model. Received order within 2 days. Unfortunately, after configuring the new Emerson settings to match the WR model, the unit would only blow heat. Older model still worked, but was off in display temp by about 8 degrees. Had A/C repair tech check and and found Thermostat to be defective. I was hoping to just snap in the new model and avoid rewiring with a new make and model. Buyer beware.

Need a replacement thermostat for a 5 series water furnace and hvac guy wanted $700. This was originally installed but stamped by a different manufacturer. Great value for the money and just replaced the old broken one. Easy installation and is providing accurate temperature control.

My gas bill on one of my rental properties increased to a $1000+ during the winter months in Chicago, I bought and installed this thermostat, unbelievable my next bill was $400+ for the first time in 2years. I feel so sad that I’ve been paying such amounts for gas for the past 2years. This thermostat saved me $600+ I wish I could call the gas company to retrieve all the over payment that I’ve made for the past 2years. So far, this thermostat has saved me a lot of money. I don’t like to write reviews, but it would be unfair if I don’t respond to the review requests from this product. Im not writing this review to convince anyone to buy this product, that’s your choice. I’m just excited about how I was able to save $600+ on my monthly gas bill, due to the choice I made to buy this product. Nice product.

I have this EXACT model in my home from 2007 to today. It started going wild reading 10 Degrees inside the house therefore making the heater chase a fraudulent temp. Got his one, plugged it into my wall unit already wired for it and works perfect.

Works well, I like the touch screen, Also works in Fahrenheit or centigrade. If unsure how to set parameters a technician is required.
