The system works as advertised, and is simple for an amateur to use.
Works very well. Good price. Good value. It's what I need to replace existing light pole outside with which I need to insulate some existing wiring while I install solar-powered lighting. I want to make sure the old light is completely de-powered before messing with it.

Two great tools in one package!
We are updating our home. If you are doing any DIY electrical work (we changed out our light switches to rockers and newer wall outlets/receptacles), these two items are necessities! A must have. Always turn off the power at the breaker box BEFORE doing any work with electrical wiring. The Sperry volt meter is accurate. Isn't over sensitive (some reviews mentioned) but can be a bit tricky to use around walls with multiple power connections. Otherwise, its worked great for me. Especially when I've had individual wires in a junction box to check. The Sperry outlet tester is perfect! Easy to use and the visual confirmation lights are fantastic. It can, also, test you GFCI outlet with push of a button. Simple. The Volt meter takes one AAA battery (this is the only negative in my opinion) and the outlet tester is good to go out of the box. Happy DIY! BE SAFE.

Nice Voltage Indicator - Not a circuit tracer!
This is a nice Voltage tester and GFI outlet tester. It is quite sensitive to electrical such that you just need to get close to outlet breaker before it starts beeping. Be careful when using in gang boxes where you might get a false reading when you have a live switch next to a non-live switch. It functions well and is lightweight and easy to carry. It quickly identifies voltage and the battery will last a long time. The led is bright and its obvious when lit.THIS IS NOT A CIRCUT TRACER. That is, this will not indicate which breaker controls the circuit that the adapter is plugged into. This unit only indicated the presence of voltage.

Very sensitive
UPDATE 12/21: I have used several non-contact voltage (NCV) testers since buying this one (which I also still use). I think it be fair, I am updating my review to say that this tester is NOT unreliable. The problem is that it’s VERY sensitive. I have another NCV tester that is meant for testing/repairing Christmas lights. That one is not nearly as sensitive as this one because the Xmas light wires are exposed. This Sperry tester is sensitive enough to detect magnetic fields inside of a wall. Initially, I thought this tester triggered on a wooden door. That door happened to be next to my garage door wall switch. While the 2 are several inches apart, the Sperry tester was able to detect the live AC wires in the wall. That’s actually a good thing, and it’s what this is supposed to do.ORIGINAL REVIEW: The NCV tester It triggered on a door handle installed on a wooden door. No electrical contacts or wiring in the wooden door. Needless to say, when I get this up to a wall or near a power outlet, I can’t trust it. I can’t trust that it actually found a powered wire inside the wall or that whatever outlet that I bring it near actually has voltage. Quite disappointing. I have safely used it to verify a de-energized state on devices before I work on them, but I can’t say it’s always reliable. A false positive is better than a false negative, though. Of course, if it indicates negative (de-energized), I always retest with my multimeter. After all, electricity is unforgiving and gives zero room for error.

A must for anyone messing with electrical!
This is a handy little test kit. I have made use of these types of testers for years. I won't work on a circuit without first checking to see where and if I've got power. This induction wand is super sensitive where simply getting close to active current sets off the flashing light and tone indicators. I need to have a solid tone that's audible so I'm not questioning whether I heard it or not. This provides just that. The plug-in tester offers a good grip and lights well enough that you can clearly see the indicator lights, day or night. It is priced fairly and seems to be well built. This will be part of my electrical tool box for years to come.

Great cube tester. Sensitive NCVT.
The receptacle tester is typical but seemingly high quality. GFCI tester works well and the device shows the six typical faults. The non contact voltage tester is VERY SENSITIVE!!! This is an asset for safety reasons. It’s a nuisance if you need to troubleshoot a 4way switch for example. You’d want a less sensitive tester for that. Also, you need to hold the button. It doesn’t stay on.

Love it
These tools are just awesome. They work just as described. If you need to verify if there is any power to a wire, circuit or most anything electrical, the non-contact voltage tester is perfect. Gives you great piece of mind to work on anything electrical knowing you won't get zapped. The receptacle tester is great because it can tell you what the problem is with the circuit you are looking at. Really great basic tools for an awesome price.

Must-Have for Every Homeowner — Small Tools, Big Peace of Mind!
I don’t know how I lived without this combo. The wire tester and outlet tester are simple, reliable, and super easy to use — exactly what every homeowner needs in their toolbox or junk drawer.I’ve used them to:-Check if outlets are wired correctly-Identify tripped breakers-Confirm if wires are live before installing fixtures-Troubleshoot dead plugs and switchesThe outlet tester gives instant feedback with clear indicator lights, and the wire tester saved me from accidentally sparking myself while changing lights and outlets. Worth every penny. If you're doing any kind of DIY, home maintenance, or just want to know your place is safe — grab this. It’s one of those tools you don’t think about until you need it… and then you’re really glad you have it.
